Tuggeranong Hill

Conder is one of three suburbs in the Lanyon Valley in Canberra, Australia. It lies in the district of Tuggeranong. The three suburbs are presently (as of 2011) the southernmost suburbs of the city, although the small settlement of Tharwa exists only a short distance further south. Named after artist Charles Conder, the suburb of Conder extends from the slopes of Tuggeranong Hill to the valley floor. Conder is home to the valley's main services including the Lanyon Market Place, Lanyon High School and one of the four Vikings clubs in Canberra. Also included in the suburb are St Clare of Assisi Primary School, Charles Conder Primary School, a youth centre, child care centre and a family services centre. Just like the name of the suburb, the streets of Conder are named after artists, including members of the Heidelberg School and places associated with that school. Among those recognised are Russell Drysdale and Tom Roberts.Major developments in Conder including "Eastern Valley Rise" and "The Landscape" have seen the Lanyon Valley's population grow rapidly. Conder has come out on top with the highest median house price growth year-on-year out of all Canberra suburbs.

Lanyon High School is a secondary school located in Conder, Australian Capital Territory. It serves the Lanyon Valley and surrounding rural areas in the Tuggeranong district of Canberra, Australia. The school was established in 1996 by the ACT department of education to address the needs of young people in years 7–10 as they move from primary school to further education, training or employment.

Calwell () is a medium-sized suburb of Canberra, Australia in the district of Tuggeranong. Tuggeranong Hill is on its southern border and the Tuggeranong Homestead is to the north. Calwell is located close to the Monaro Highway which provides a direct route to Canberra City and to Cooma.

The suburb is named after Edward Granville Theodore (1884–1950), a Queensland premier and deputy Prime Minister. It was gazetted on 5 August 1975. Streets are named after people involved with the civilian war effort during the world wars. The main street through the suburb is named after Sir Lawrence Wackett KBE, DFC, AFC, who is widely regarded as the "father of the Australian aircraft industry". At the 2021 census, Theodore had a population of 3,798 and had a median age of 36 compared to the Australian median age of 38.It is next to the suburbs of Conder and Calwell. It is bounded by the Monaro Highway and Tharwa drive. Located in the suburb is Theodore Primary School and a neighbourhood oval. It borders on Tuggeranong Hill and the Canberra Nature Park of Tuggeranong Hill nature reserve.

Covenant Christian School, formerly known as Covenant College, is an independent Christian primary and high school located on Woodcock Drive, Gordon in the Australian Capital Territory and owned and operated by an association of like-minded Christian parents and supporters. The official theological position of the school is based on the Westminster Confession of Faith and other expressions of the reformed faith. It currently caters for pupils in years K-10 and is co-educational. Covenant opened in 1991. As of 2023, it had a roll of around 283 students, and a college feeder program with Trinity Christian School for pupils in years 11 and 12. The school aims to provide quality Christ-centered education to students from Protestant denominations. In 2013 the school entered into a new phase of its development as it opened its doors to non-Christian students as well as Christian students. From 2014, the school changed its name to Covenant Christian School, which more clearly reflects its role as a provider of Primary and Secondary education. There are around 8 classrooms, a science lab, a library, preschool, and a COLA (Covered Outdoor Learning Center) as of 2023. The school had 183 students enrolled in K-10 in 2021. Of whom, 5 were international students. There were also 37 employed staff at CCS during the 2021 academic year of whom 22 were teaching staff and 15 were non-teaching staff.

Tuggeranong Homestead is located in the Australian Capital Territory in the area now covered by the suburb of Richardson. It is a property of historical significance and is listed on the ACT Heritage Register. It was owned by a succession of prominent pastoralists over the last century before it was resumed by the Government. Today it is used as a venue for special events, conferences and weddings.

It is located on the west side of Tharwa Drive. Located in the suburb is the Point Hut Pond, with the Point Hut district park. Gordon has a primary school and neighbourhood oval.

Banks is a suburb in the Canberra, Australia district of Tuggeranong. It is the most southerly suburb of Canberra. The suburb is named after Sir Joseph Banks (1743–1820), the botanist who accompanied Captain James Cook to Botany Bay in 1770. The suburb was gazetted on 12 March 1987. The theme of the street names is botany or natural history.Banks is located adjacent to the suburbs of Conder and Gordon. It is bounded by Box Hill Avenue, Tom Roberts Avenue and Tharwa Drive. Located in the suburb is Beau and Jessi Park and the Banks Oval. The Rob Roy Nature Reserve, part of Canberra Nature Park, is a hilly region to the east of Banks that includes Mt Rob Roy. Nearer and also to the east of Banks is the smaller mountain Big Monks, accessible from Wollemi Place. Big Monks has a gliding stage near the top, allowing paragliders and hang-gliders to fly over the suburb of Banks. The suburb itself slopes gently to the west-northwest. There is a small shopping centre in the suburb, on the main internal road, Pockett Avenue. It includes 2 small take-away food shops, a pet shop and a small IGA supermarket. Banks 1, Banks' only oval, is used for local events such as the Saint Clare of Assisi Primary School Athletics Carnival.

Tuggeranong Creek, a partly perennial stream of the Murrumbidgee catchment within the Murray–Darling basin, is located in the Tuggeranong district of Canberra, within the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Tuggeranong is derived from the Aboriginal word, meaning "cold plain". The traditional custodians of the land surrounding Tuggeranong Creek are the Aboriginal people of the Ngunnawal tribe.

Richardson is a suburb in the Canberra, Australia, district of Tuggeranong. The postcode is 2905. It was gazetted on 5 May 1975. Streets are named after writers, especially female writers. It is next to the suburbs of Calwell, Isabella Plains, Gowrie and Chisholm. It is bounded by Johnson Drive, Ashley Drive and Isabella Drive. This suburb is named after the novelist Ethel Florence Lindesay Richardson (1870–1946) who wrote under the pen name Henry Handel Richardson.

Isabella Plains is a suburb in the Canberra, Australia district of Tuggeranong. The postcode is 2905. The suburb is indirectly named after Isabella Maria Brisbane (1821–1849), who was the daughter of Sir Thomas Brisbane, the colonial Governor of New South Wales when the area was first explored by white settlers in 1823. Joseph Wild was employed by Brigade Major John Ovens and Captain Mark Currie to guide them to the Murrumbidgee River. They travelled south along the river and named the area now known as Tuggeranong "Isabella's Plain". This name was adopted, with a slight change of spelling, for the name of the new suburb. It was gazetted on 5 August 1975. Streets are named after New South Wales parish names. It is next to the suburbs of Monash, Bonython, Richardson and Calwell. It is bounded by Isabella Drive, Drakeford Drive, Johnson Drive and Ashley Drive. Located in the suburb are a small group of shops, the senior campus of St Mary MacKillop College, Isabella Plains Primary School, the Tuggeranong automatic weather station and Isabella Plains neighbourhood oval.
