Oozells Street Board School

The Ikon Gallery (grid reference SP060866) is an English gallery of contemporary art, located in Brindleyplace, Birmingham. It is housed in the Grade II listed, neo-gothic former Oozells Street Board School, designed by John Henry Chamberlain in 1877. Ikon was set up to encourage the public to engage in contemporary art. As a result, the gallery delivers an off-site Education and Interpretation scheme to educate audiences, and to promote artists and their work. The gallery is open every day of the week except Mondays, though it opens on bank holiday Mondays. Featured artworks include all forms of media including sound, sculpture and photography as well as paintings. Exhibitions rotate throughout the year so that as many pieces can be displayed as possible. Ikon is a registered charity which is partly funded by Birmingham City Council and Arts Council of England.

Brindleyplace is a large mixed-use canalside development, in the Westside district of Birmingham, England. It was named after Brindley Place, the name of the street (in turn named after the 18th-century canal engineer James Brindley) around which it is built. It was developed by the Argent Group from 1993 onwards. In addition to shops, bars and restaurants, Brindleyplace is home to the National Sea Life Centre, Royal Bank of Scotland, Orion Media, Ikon Gallery of art and the Crescent Theatre. The site covers 17 acres (69,000 m²) of mixed-use redevelopment - the UK's largest such project. The Birmingham Canal Navigations Main Line Canal separates Brindleyplace from the International Convention Centre, although there are linking bridges. The National Indoor Arena, Old Turn Junction and bars of Broad Street are nearby and it is easily accessible and within walking distance of the main bus, metro (tram) and rail routes.

Brindleyplace tram stop is a tram stop on Line 1 of the West Midlands Metro located in Brindleyplace, Birmingham. It opened on 17 July 2022 as when the line was extended from Library to Edgbaston.

Broad Street Presbyterian Church is a Grade II listed former Presbyterian church, and later Second Church of Christ Scientist, on Broad Street, Birmingham, England.

Barbarella's was a nightclub and music venue located in Birmingham, England. The name of the club was taken from the film Barbarella. The club opened in 1972 and closed in August 1979. This club was one of Eddie Fewtrell's clubs. Fewtrell promoted known rock bands at that time, such as AC/DC, Dire Straits, Queen, Sex Pistols and The Clash. Duran Duran's drummer Roger Taylor played at Barbarella's with punk bands in the 1970s. Both The Prefects and The Photos recorded a song called Barbarella's, the latter mourning the closure of the club.

The Leonardo Royal Hotel Birmingham is a hotel on Broad Street, Birmingham, England. The structure was originally an office building, the Chamberlain Tower. Built using concrete cladding and steel joists, it was part of the plan to redevelop Birmingham in the 1960s. Construction commenced in 1974 and was completed the following year, to a design by Ian Fraser of John Roberts & Partners. It is one of the tallest buildings on Broad Street and forms a prominent part of the city skyline when viewed from the south. It is an example of Brutalist architecture in Birmingham, with other similar examples being Birmingham Central Library and New Street Station Signal Box.The building was converted to a hotel in 1998, at a cost of £12.5m, and opened as the Chamberlain Tower Hotel on 1 February 1999 The hotel has 445 rooms, making it the largest hotel in Birmingham city centre. On the ground floor is a pub and a restaurant. It was bought by the Jurys Inns hotel chain in 2001 for £42 million and renamed Jurys Inn Birmingham. In April 2022, the Fattal Hotel Group announced that all Jurys Inn Hotels would be rebranded as Leonardo Hotels. The hotel was renamed Leonardo Royal Hotel Birmingham on 19 December 2022.

Broad Street is a major thoroughfare and popular nightspot centre in Central Birmingham, England. Traditionally, Broad Street was considered to be outside Birmingham City Centre, but as the city centre expanded with the removal of the Inner Ring Road, Broad Street has been incorporated into the new Westside district of the city centre due to its position within the A4540 road. Broad Street is also the centre of Birmingham's banking and financial centre. It can boast region head offices of Lloyds Banking Group, Royal Bank of Scotland, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and many other banking organisations. More than 15,000 people are employed in this sector, in this area of Birmingham.

The Church of the Messiah, Birmingham was a Unitarian place of worship on Broad Street. The impressive Victorian Gothic church was constructed between 1860-1862 and straddled the Birmingham Canal. The congregation pre-dates the building, and has continued following its demolition in 1978. Those who worshipped there include politicians of local and national importance.

Quayside Tower is a modern commercial building in Birmingham, England. It is situated on Broad Street, one of Birmingham's busiest streets. It forms a prominent part of the Broad Street skyline which consists of many other highrise buildings. Originally built in 1965 to a design by John Madin, it was refurbished in 2003 to a design by Richard Johnson & Associates to give it a more fashionable appearance. Ashford Construction stripped all sixteen floors above the podium and added a new curtain walling from the top downwards. This produced a new roof feature which was designed by Watts & Partners. A new reception area was constructed and the 240 space car park was refurbished. It was developed by Kenmore Group.The tower has a gross area of 11,148 square metres (119,996 sq ft) with 8,918.4 square metres (95,997 sq ft) available for let once refurbishment was completed.Attached to the podium are a series of up to 20 abstract concrete reliefs by William Mitchell which were commissioned by John Madin in 1965. The GI for this building was record setting by a prominent West London broker.

The National Sea Life Centre is an aquarium with over 60 displays of freshwater and marine life in Brindleyplace, Birmingham, England. Its ocean tank has a capacity of 1,000,000 litres (220,000 imp gal) of water and houses giant green sea turtles, blacktip reef sharks and tropical reef fish, with the only fully transparent 360-degree underwater tunnel in the United Kingdom. The building was designed by Sir Norman Foster.

Capital Midlands is a regional radio station owned and operated by Global as part of the Capital network. It broadcasts to Birmingham, parts of the Black Country and the East Midlands from studios at Brindleyplace in Birmingham City Centre. The station launched in April 2019 as a result of a merger between Capital Birmingham and Capital East Midlands.
