Barbarella's was a nightclub and music venue located in Birmingham, England. The name of the club was taken from the film Barbarella. The club opened in 1972 and closed in August 1979. This club was one of Eddie Fewtrell's clubs. Fewtrell promoted known rock bands at that time, such as AC/DC, Dire Straits, Queen, Sex Pistols and The Clash. Duran Duran's drummer Roger Taylor played at Barbarella's with punk bands in the 1970s. Both The Prefects and The Photos recorded a song called Barbarella's, the latter mourning the closure of the club.

Regal Tower is a proposed skyscraper to be constructed on a site bounded by Broad Street, Oozells Way and Sheepcote Street in Ladywood, just outside of Central Birmingham, England. The proposal consists of a 56 storey tower, measuring 200.5 metres (658 ft) tall, housing retail units, a luxury hotel, residential apartments and car parking. Provision has been made for 256 serviced apartments, although these could make way for additional hotel space. The tower has been designed by Aedas and was proposed by Regal Property Group, with DTZ Debenham Tie Leung acting on their behalf. If completed as originally planned, the skyscraper would be the second tallest building in the UK outside of London.

Brindleyplace is a large mixed-use canalside development, in the Westside district of Birmingham, England. It was named after Brindley Place, the name of the street (in turn named after the 18th-century canal engineer James Brindley) around which it is built. It was developed by the Argent Group from 1993 onwards. In addition to shops, bars and restaurants, Brindleyplace is home to the National Sea Life Centre, Royal Bank of Scotland, Orion Media, Ikon Gallery of art and the Crescent Theatre. The site covers 17 acres (69,000 m²) of mixed-use redevelopment - the UK's largest such project. The Birmingham Canal Navigations Main Line Canal separates Brindleyplace from the International Convention Centre, although there are linking bridges. The National Indoor Arena, Old Turn Junction and bars of Broad Street are nearby and it is easily accessible and within walking distance of the main bus, metro (tram) and rail routes.

The Mercian (also known as 212 Broad Street by its address and formerly known as 2one2 Broad Street and Broad Street Tower) is a 132-metre-tall (433 ft) residential skyscraper on Broad Street in Birmingham, England. It is designed by Glenn Howells Architects, the developer is Moda Living and the main contractor is John Sisk & Son.The building is 42 storeys in height, consisting of a 39-storey residential building (30 studios, 163 one bed, 260 two bed and 28 three-bedroom apartments) which sits on a three-storey podium with over 30,000 square feet (2,800 m2) of community amenity space. The build is valued at £183m and was completed in May 2022.The tower sits perpendicular to the street with the front-facing Five Ways. Originally, a helipad was proposed to be located on top of the building on a podium, but this was removed from the design, though the podium remained with some minor changes.The tower was scheduled to be presented before a planning committee in late August 2006. However, the developers pulled out minutes before the meeting to make changes.The application was presented again on 28 September and whilst it was originally deferred due to lack of information, concerns over height and payment of money under Section 106, it was later approved. The updated proposal boasted a partial redesign, increasing the height of the tower and creating a redesigned façade. Construction of the skyscraper began in April 2019.The Mercian is the tallest building in Birmingham and the second tallest structure, after the BT Tower. However, this title is expected to be handed over to Octagon, a 49-storey skyscraper currently under construction and due for completion in 2025.

The Crescent Theatre is a multi-venue theatre run mostly by volunteers in Birmingham City Centre. It is part of the Brindleyplace development on Sheepcote Street. It has a resident company, one of the oldest theatre companies in the city, and also hires its three performance spaces to a host of visitors each year, nationally and internationally, both amateur and professional. The company began, as the Municipal Players, in 1924. The first theatre was a converted building, formerly Baskerville Hall, in The Crescent, Cambridge Street. The first production was Edmund Rostand's "The Romantics" in 1932. The theatre moved to newly built premises on Cumberland Street in 1964, designed by Graham Winteringham of S.T. Walker and Partners, with a seating capacity of 296. The apron stage and first seven rows of seats were on a revolving platform to turn the interior into an arena theatre. The two-storey building was faced with London stock bricks and black-framed windows. Phase Two of the construction would have included a restaurant and a rehearsal stage. The present theatre was opened in 1998 by Celia Imrie. The theatre it replaced was demolished in the same year. It houses four performance spaces: The Main House, Ron Barber Studio, Roma's Room, and the Bar with capacities of 340, 120, 40 and 70 respectively. The building was designed by Terry Farrell and John Chatwin. The theatre is run by a board of directors elected from the membership including chairman, secretary and treasurer. They oversee the general direction of the theatre and all the membership activities. There is a small team of paid staff who look after the day-to-day running of the building and supervise the hire operation. The theatre has hosted a variety of events for Birmingham Royal Ballet, Birmingham Rep, the NHS and the BBC, including recent live broadcasts of Radio 1's Newsbeat and Radio 4's Any Questions.

Brindleyplace tram stop is a tram stop on Line 1 of the West Midlands Metro located in Brindleyplace, Birmingham. It opened on 17 July 2022 as when the line was extended from Library to Edgbaston.

Oozells Street Board School was a Victorian board school in Oozells Street, off Broad Street in Birmingham, England. It is a Grade II listed building.Designed in 1877 by local architects Martin & Chamberlain, responsible for over forty of the Birmingham board schools, it opened on 28 January 1878 to serve 807 primary children.The building became a college and then a furniture store for Birmingham City Council before being condemned for demolition; in 1976 the tower was demolished on safety grounds.The structure had a last-minute reprieve as the contract for demolition was being agreed and was renovated by Carillion, including the re-erection of the tower, with a steel girder frame, around 1997. The work cost of £4,700,000 and the building reopened in 1998 as the Ikon Gallery.Since 1993 it has been surrounded by the new buildings of Brindleyplace which replaced an earlier industrial area of factories and workshops.

The Ikon Gallery (grid reference SP060866) is an English gallery of contemporary art, located in Brindleyplace, Birmingham. It is housed in the Grade II listed, neo-gothic former Oozells Street Board School, designed by John Henry Chamberlain in 1877. Ikon was set up to encourage the public to engage in contemporary art. As a result, the gallery delivers an off-site Education and Interpretation scheme to educate audiences, and to promote artists and their work. The gallery is open every day of the week except Mondays, though it opens on bank holiday Mondays. Featured artworks include all forms of media including sound, sculpture and photography as well as paintings. Exhibitions rotate throughout the year so that as many pieces can be displayed as possible. Ikon is a registered charity which is partly funded by Birmingham City Council and Arts Council of England.

The National Sea Life Centre is an aquarium with over 60 displays of freshwater and marine life in Brindleyplace, Birmingham, England. Its ocean tank has a capacity of 1,000,000 litres (220,000 imp gal) of water and houses giant green sea turtles, blacktip reef sharks and tropical reef fish, with the only fully transparent 360-degree underwater tunnel in the United Kingdom. The building was designed by Sir Norman Foster.

Broad Street Presbyterian Church is a Grade II listed former Presbyterian church, and later Second Church of Christ Scientist, on Broad Street, Birmingham, England.

Old Turn Junction, or Deep Cutting Junction (grid reference SP059868) is a canal junction in Birmingham, England, where the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal meets the Birmingham Canal Navigations Main Line Canal. The junction features a circular island.

Five Ways tram stop is a tram stop on Line 1 of the West Midlands Metro located in Five Ways, Birmingham. It opened on 17 July 2022 as the when the line was extended from Library to Edgbaston. It is the recommended interchange stop for trains at Five Ways railway station on the Cross-City Line, which is approximately 0.4 miles (0.64 km) away, roughly an eight minute walk.
