Knatts Valley is a hamlet situated in the West Kingsdown civil parish in the county of Kent, England. It was originally a rural community consisting mainly of several smallholdings: the principal farms being Knatts Farm (sheep), giving its name to the area; and Maplescombe Farm (cattle). One settlement in the valley is Romney Street; the word street meaning hamlet in these parts of Kent. To the east there is a development of housing within a wooded area, mainly of detached housing, and to the west is a similar development — "East Hill". There is a golf course and a residential caravan park. Here is also an unlicensed airstrip, being part of Romney Street Farm, with a north–south grass runway east of Upper Wood.

St Clere, Kent

St Clere is a Grade I listed 17th-century country house in Kemsing, Kent, England. The house is built in brick in three storeys plus basement and attic. It has a five bay front facade with a 19th-century central porch and a parapet. The high pitched hipped slated roof is surmounted by a row of linked tall brick chimneys. Extensions have been built to the side. Within the house is a chimneypiece by Sir John Soane, which was brought from the old Bank of England.

There are man, pyramidal and common spotted orchids, and butterflies include the brown argus and grizzled skipper.There is access by a footpath from Pilgrims Way.

There are also areas of woodland and scrub.Public footpaths go through the site.

The parish lies on the scarp face of the North Downs, 20 miles south east of Central London, 4 miles (6 km) north east of Sevenoaks. Also in the parish are the hamlets of Heaverham, 1 mile (2 km) to the east, and Noah's Ark 0.5 miles (1 km) to the south. The population of the civil parish in 2001 was 4014 persons, increasing to a population of 4,218 at the 2011 Census.
