West Kingsdown

Brands Hatch is a motor racing circuit in West Kingsdown, Kent, England, United Kingdom. Originally used as a grasstrack motorcycle circuit on farmland, it hosted 12 runnings of the British Grand Prix between 1964 and 1986 and currently hosts many British and International racing events. The venue is owned and operated by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation.

Maplescombe is a hamlet in the West Kingsdown civil parish, in the Sevenoaks District, in the county of Kent, England.

Knatts Valley is a hamlet situated in the West Kingsdown civil parish in the county of Kent, England. It was originally a rural community consisting mainly of several smallholdings: the principal farms being Knatts Farm (sheep), giving its name to the area; and Maplescombe Farm (cattle). One settlement in the valley is Romney Street; the word street meaning hamlet in these parts of Kent. To the east there is a development of housing within a wooded area, mainly of detached housing, and to the west is a similar development — "East Hill". There is a golf course and a residential caravan park. Here is also an unlicensed airstrip, being part of Romney Street Farm, with a north–south grass runway east of Upper Wood.

West Kingsdown Windmill is a Grade II listed smock mill in West Kingsdown, Kent, England, that was built in the early nineteenth century at Farningham and moved to West Kingsdown in 1880. It is the survivor of a pair of windmills.

East Hill is a hamlet in the civil parish of West Kingsdown, in the Sevenoaks District, in the county of Kent in England.

Fawkham is a village and civil parish in the Sevenoaks District of Kent, England. Fawkham is defined as a hamlet by Sevenoaks District Council, with a population of 429. Fawkham is a low density, linear settlement along the bottom of a dry chalk valley some 3 mi (5 km) in length, with secondary lanes intersecting. There is no discernible village centre, although clusters of buildings occur near the Church/junction with Castle Hill, and around the village green and public house at the junction with Fawkham Green Road. There are around 220 houses. Fawkham is approximately 8 miles (13 km) from Gravesend, 8 miles (13 km) from Dartford and 12 miles (19 km) from Sevenoaks. It is on the northern edge of Sevenoaks district, adjoining its border with Dartford district, south of the village of Longfield. The M20 motorway marks the south-east boundary of the parish, and the London to Chatham railway line the north-east boundary. Brands Hatch motor racing circuit is close by. Baldwins Green Conservation Area covers part of the village and includes the church. The 12th-century parish church is dedicated to St Mary and is a Grade I listed building. The ecclesiastical parish of Fawkham is part of the united benefice of Fawkham and Hartley. Fawkham was formerly in Dartford Rural District along with the neighbouring parishes. In medieval times the parish was part of Axstane Hundred. Edward Hasted in his The History and Topographical Survey of the County of Kent: Volume 2(Canterbury, 1797) describes Fawkham Parish as having "two hamlets in it called Fawkham-green and Fawkham-street. The church stands near the northern boundary of it". Longfield railway station was called Fawkham Station until 1961.

Dartford Rural District was a rural district with an area of 34,037 acres (138 km2) in the county of Kent, England. In 1971 it had a population of 64,561 and an electorate of 43,911. At dissolution it was the most populous rural district council in Kent, but had once been larger, having lost territory when Crayford Urban District was created in 1920, and Swanscombe Urban District in 1926.On 1 April 1974 it was split between the borough of Dartford and the new district of Sevenoaks. The civil parishes of Ash-cum-Ridley, Eynsford, Eynsford-Crockenhill, Farningham, Fawkham, Hartley, Horton Kirby, Swanley, and West Kingsdown, all of which became part of Sevenoaks District, are sometimes still collectively referred to as the 'Northern Parishes'. Longfield civil parish originally went to Sevenoaks, but was transferred to Dartford Borough in 1987.At the time of its dissolution it consisted of the following 15 civil parishes. In 1971 it had 27 councillors who held office for 3 years. Elections for one-third of the seats were held every year. Horton Kirby is a village in the Sevenoaks District of Kent, England. It is located 3.9 miles east of Swanley & 4.9 miles south of Dartford. Together with the nearby village of South Darenth, it forms the Horton Kirby and South Darenth civil parish.

Ash is a small village and former civil parish located in the Sevenoaks district in Kent. It shares the parish of Ash-cum-Ridley with the nearby village of Ridley. The London Golf Club is located in the village, which hosted the European Open on the PGA European Tour in 2008 and 2009. In 1951 the parish had a population of 1017.Ash and Ridley were formerly separate parishes. Both were part of Dartford Rural District and Axstane Hundred.
