Junction Oval (also known as the St Kilda Cricket Ground or the CitiPower Centre due to sponsorship reasons) is a historic sports ground in the suburb of St Kilda in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.The oval's location near the St Kilda Junction gave rise to its name. It is located approximately five kilometres south from the centre of Melbourne and is in the southernmost part of the large Albert Park sporting precinct. The oval is the administrative headquarters of Cricket Victoria, and was redeveloped between 2015 and 2018 for that purpose.

Cricket Victoria (CV) is the governing body for the sport of cricket in the Australian state of Victoria. It was formed on 29 September 1875 as the Victorian Cricket Association. It is integrated with the Victorian Women's Cricket Association to include funding, programs, office accommodation and staff assistance. As of 2019, CV administered the 1,065 cricket clubs and 448,000 registered cricketers in Victoria, who compete across 75 cricket competitions. Melbourne South Province was an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Council. It was created in June 1904 when Melbourne Province was reduced in size (four members down to two) and North Yarra Province and South Yarra Province were abolished. The new Melbourne South, Melbourne North, Melbourne East and Melbourne West Provinces were then created.Melbourne South was defined by the Electoral Provinces Boundaries Act 1903 (taking effect from the 1904 elections) as being bound by: the Yarra River at Clarendon Street, south-east to Dorcas Street, Nelson Road, Cowie and Pickles Street, Hobson's Bay to Glenhuntly Road, Point Nepean Road to North Road, Bambra Road to the Rosstown Railway then west to Kooyong Road, to Dandenong Road, to Hornby Street, to High Street, to Bendigo Street then north by Surrey Road to the Eastern Railway, then to a line with Clara Street, to Toorak Road, to the east boundary of portion 9, parish of Prahran; then north by that boundary to the Yarra River; and then westerly by that river to the commencing point.Melbourne South was abolished when the new Higinbotham and Monash Provinces were created in 1937.

South Yarra Province was an electorate of the Victorian Legislative Council from November 1882 until May 1904.South Yarra Province was created in the redistribution of provinces in 1882 when the Central and Eastern Provinces were abolished. The new South Yarra, North Yarra, North Central, South Eastern and Melbourne Provinces were then created. The Legislative Council Act, 1881, created and defined the South Yarra Province as: Commencing at a point on the Yarra river at Princes Bridge; thence south-easterly by the Brighton Road to High street; thence east by that street to the Punt Road; thence north by the last-named road to Yarra river, aforesaid; thence easterly, northerly, and easterly by that river to the north-east angle of allotment 52 parish of Boroondara; thence south by the east boundary of that allotment and by the Burke Road to the Kooyong Koot creek; thence north-westerly by that creek to the Yarra river aforesaid; thence west by that river to the north-east angle of allotment 18 parish of Prahran; thence south by the Kooyong road to the Dandenong Road; thence westerly by that road to Hotham street; thence south by that street to the Brighton Road; thence south-easterly by that road to the Glen Huntly Road; thence west by the last-named road to St. Kilda Street, Elsternwick; thence south by that street to Park Street; thence west by the last named street to the shore of Port Phillip Bay; thence northerly and westerly by the shores of Port Phillip Bay and Hobson's Bay and northerly by the Yarra river to the south boundary of the township of Footscray; thence east and north by the south and part of the east boundaries of that township to the Yarra river aforesaid; thence easterly by that river to the commencing point. South Yarra Province was abolished in another redistribution of Provinces in 1904; new provinces including East Yarra, Melbourne East Province, Melbourne North Province, Melbourne South Province and Melbourne West Provinces were created.

The Victorian College for the Deaf is Australia's only Prep to Year 12 Specialist in Deaf Education. Education is provided using a bilingual philosophy of teaching through Auslan, the language of the Australian Deaf community, and English as the second language. It has a significant role in the history of Australian Deaf culture.

The Division of Macnamara is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Victoria, which was contested for the first time at the 2019 federal election. The division is named in honour of Dame Jean Macnamara, a medical researcher and doctor who specialised in the polio virus and was involved in children's health initiatives. The current member is Josh Burns, representing the Australian Labor Party since the 2019 Australian federal election.

The Division of Melbourne Ports was an Australian federal electoral division in the inner south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was located to the south of Melbourne's central business district and covered an area of approximately 40 km2 around the north and north-eastern shores of Port Phillip Bay. The electorate was created at the time of Australian Federation in 1901 and was one of the original 65 divisions contested at the first federal election. It is named for the fact that at the time of its creation it was centred on Port Melbourne and Williamstown, both major ports. The electorate, formerly working class, was much more demographically diverse on its final boundaries, with rapidly accelerating inner-city gentrification and high-density housing developments in later years. It included Port Melbourne, but also included a number of middle and upper middle class suburbs such as Albert Park, Balaclava, Caulfield, Elwood, Middle Park, Ripponlea, South Melbourne and St Kilda. It was notable for having one of Australia's larger Jewish populations, at 9.9%, much higher than the nationwide 0.4%. It also had a high proportion of atheists and agnostics, with 38.8% of residents answering "No Religion" in the 2016 census, compared to 30.1% nationwide. It also had a large gay and lesbian community.

The Crystal Ballroom (also known as The Ballroom and Seaview Ballroom) was a music venue located within the Seaview Hotel on Fitzroy Street in St Kilda, an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It has often been referred to as the centerpiece of Melbourne's post-punk movement, showcasing groups such as The Birthday Party, Dead Can Dance and Crime and the City Solution, as well as being a mainstay of the Little Band scene. Named after the venue's ornate Victorian age ballroom and chandeliers, the Crystal Ballroom was run by a succession of music promoters from 1978 to 1987, starting with Dolores San Miguel (who also ran other prominent Melbourne venues, including St Kilda's Esplanade Hotel), and later by Laurie Richards, founder of the Tiger Lounge in Richmond and the Jump Club in Fitzroy. Nigel Rennard, owner of Missing Link Records, was the venue's final owner.
