Sandy Pond (Wareham, Massachusetts)

Spectacle Pond is a 42-acre (170,000 m2) pond in Wareham, Massachusetts. It is located east and south of Mill Pond, west of Sandy Pond and southwest of Glen Charlie Pond. A small stream connects it to the Agawam River.

Glen Charlie Pond is a 185-acre (0.75 km2) warm water pond in Wareham, Massachusetts. The maximum depth of the pond is 12 feet (3.7 m). The pond is part of the Agawam River. The pond is located southwest of White Island Shores, northeast of Spectacle Pond, north of Sandy Pond, and approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Route 25. Exit 2 off Route 25 eastbound provides direct access along Glen Charlie Road. The pond is developed with summer and year-round homes mostly along the southern and eastern shores. Public access is possible through town-owned land at the gas pipeline crossing. This pond is popular for both warm-water fishing and ice fishing.

Water Wizz, touted as "Cape Cod's only water park", is a family-owned water park located in East Wareham, Massachusetts and attracting about 100,000 visitors yearly. This park is not to be confused with Water Wizz in Westerly, Rhode Island, as the two are separately owned.

Mill Pond, also known unofficially as Agawam Mill Pond, is a 150-acre (0.61 km2) pond in Wareham, Massachusetts. The pond is located northwest of Union Pond, west and north of Spectacle Pond, west of Sandy Pond, and southwest of Glen Charlie Pond. The Agawam River runs through the pond. Route 25 runs through the southwestern part of the pond, and the Exit 2 off-ramp from Route 25 eastbound lies along the shore en route to Glen Charlie Road, which runs along the pond's eastern shore.

Union Pond is a 25-acre (100,000 m2) pond in Wareham, Massachusetts. The pond is located southeast of Mill Pond. Route 25 runs north of the pond, Routes 6 and 28 runs south of the pond, and Glen Charlie Road runs west of the pond.

The Lyman Reserve is a 210-acre (0.85 km2) nature reserve in Bourne, Plymouth and Wareham, Massachusetts and is managed by the Trustees of Reservations. There are 1.5 miles (2.4 km) of hiking trails, a beach and is in proximity to the Red Brook Reserve and Red Brook Wildlife Management Area. The area was formerly as private fishing camp, which sits at the mouth of Red Brook at Buttermilk Bay. It is home to one of the last remaining groups of sea-run brook trout ("salters") in the Eastern United States.Red Brook was established as a preserve in 2001.

Onset station is a former train station located on Depot Street in the village of East Wareham, Massachusetts. Originally known as Agawam, then East Wareham, it was combined with a nearby station under the name Onset Junction in 1891. Known as Onset by the 1930s, it was closed in 1959. The station building remains in use by a business.

Buttermilk Bay is the southernmost point of Plymouth, Massachusetts. The Buttermilk Bay neighborhood begins at the intersection of Red Brook Road/Head of the Bay Road and Packard Street, which is located on the borders of the towns of Plymouth, Wareham, and Bourne, and stretches northward all the way to the edge of Massachusetts Route 25.

The Agawam River is a 10.7-mile-long (17.2 km) stream in southeastern Massachusetts, USA, that is part of the Wareham River estuary watershed. The Agawam River is named in honor of the peaceful Native Americans that helped the Massachusetts Bay Colony establish its first Connecticut River Valley settlement at Springfield, Massachusetts in 1636, and helped it to flourish while many of the Connecticut Colony settlements south of Springfield were attacked or destroyed by more war-like Native American tribes. The Agawam River originates at Halfway Pond, east of the Myles Standish State Forest in Plymouth, flows southwest through Glen Charlie Pond and East Wareham, and drains into the Wareham River near the center of Wareham. As the estuary's major contributor of nutrients and fresh water, the Agawam was one of the most important herring rivers in Massachusetts. Its herring runs have been operated by European settlers since 1632 and were officially established as a managed run in 1832. Even today, it remains one of the few managed herring runs in Massachusetts, although few fish reach the river's spawning and nursery habitat. It includes 570 acres (2.3 km2) of water bodies that could serve as habitat to alewife, blueback herring, and American shad. Approximately 36% of this habitat is in Halfway Pond. Fishway retrofit projects aim to restore river herring population to historic levels, perhaps as many as 100,000+ fish annually. The Agawam River receives discharges from the Wareham Sewage Treatment plant, which discharges 0.76 million US gallons (2,900 m3) per day of nitrogen-rich sewage effluent.

Congregation Beth Israel (Hebrew: בית ישראל) is an Orthodox congregation located in Onset, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. It is famous as the summer synagogue of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik and some of his students from the 1950s until the mid-1960s, when his wife died. The clapboard building was originally a furniture store, before it was converted to a synagogue in 1948.Initially a destination for Jewish vacationers from Boston, Beth Israel now attracts Jews from Toronto, Montreal, and New York City from a "wide cross-section of Orthodoxy", including "Young Israel, Chabad, Chasidim from Montreal, Charedim, Carlebach Chasidim, very-left wing (Edah) and 'Conservadox'." The synagogue maintains three daily minyans throughout the summer and through the High Holidays.
