Mitch Stadium is a baseball field located on the boundary line between the Town of Ceredo and the City of Kenova in West Virginia. It is home to the Ceredo-Kenova Little League and numerous annual community events. The stadium was created in 1955 and is named in honor of Elmer "Big Mitch" Mitchell, who served as groundskeeper at the facility for 27 years until his death in 1981. The facility at Mitch Stadium has previously hosted concerts, youth football and soccer events, and community carnivals and festivals. "The Mitch" has hosted 7 West Virginia Little League State Tournaments, the 1965 Little League Divisional Tournament, the 2009 Little League 2009 Little League Southeast Regional baseball and softball tournaments, and served as the initial host of the Little League 9-10 Year-Old Tournament of State Champions.

Z. D. Ramsdell House, also known as The Ramsdell House, is a historic home located at Ceredo, Wayne County, West Virginia, atop a mound claimed to be an Indian burial mound. It was built in 1857–1858, and is a two-story red brick and frame dwelling measuring 30 feet wide and 48 feet deep. It sits on a stone foundation and is in the Greek Revival-style with a gable roof. Zophar D. Ramsdell came to Ceredo at the invitation of the town's founder, and fellow abolitionist, Eli Thayer. He built a shoe and boot factory, served as a Captain and Quartermaster during the American Civil War, served as a postmaster after the war, and served as a legislative representative in the West Virginia State Senate during 1868 and 1869. The home is believed to be one of the last stops of The Underground Railroad before crossing the Ohio River to freedom. It is open as a historic house museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Joseph S. Miller House is a historic home located at Kenova, Wayne County, West Virginia. It was built in 1891, in the Queen Anne style with Eastlake decorative elements. It is a two-story frame dwelling on a sandstone foundation with tower. It features a combination of wood fish scale, diamond and octagon shingles on the balcony, the west bay, and tower sections.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.It is well known in the area for the annual tradition of decorating with thousands of pumpkins in the fall; colloquially becoming known as the "Pumpkin House".

The Norfolk Southern Railway Ohio River crossing connects South Point, Ohio with Kenova, West Virginia.

Kenova is a city in Wayne County, West Virginia, United States, situated at the confluence of the Ohio and Big Sandy rivers. The city's name is a portmanteau of Kentucky, Ohio, and Virginia (Va), owing to its location where the three states met before the creation of West Virginia. The population was 3,030 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Huntington–Ashland metropolitan area.Founded in 1859 but not incorporated until 1894, the town's early history and development was centered on the railroad industry. It is home to a major Norfolk Southern Ohio River Bridge. CSX Transportation's former Chesapeake and Ohio Kanawha Subdivision travels through the town as well. The city is also near the site of the Southern Airways Flight 932 aviation disaster. In 1970, a plane carrying the Marshall University football team crashed on a hillside on approach to the Tri-State Airport, killing all on board. A movie about the tragedy, We Are Marshall, was released in 2006.

Southern Airways Flight 932 was a chartered Southern Airways Douglas DC-9 domestic United States commercial jet flight from Stallings Field (ISO) in Kinston, North Carolina, to Huntington Tri-State Airport/Milton J. Ferguson Field (HTS) near Kenova and Ceredo, West Virginia. At 7:36 pm on November 14, 1970, the aircraft crashed into a hill just short of the Tri-State Airport, killing all 75 people on board in what has been recognized as "the worst sports-related air tragedy in U.S. history".The plane was carrying 37 members of the Marshall University Thundering Herd football team, eight members of the coaching staff, 25 boosters, two pilots, two flight attendants, and a charter coordinator. The team was returning home after a 17–14 loss to the East Carolina Pirates at Ficklen Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina.At the time, Marshall's athletic teams rarely traveled by plane, since most away games were within easy driving distance of the campus. The team originally planned to cancel the flight, but changed plans and chartered the Southern Airways DC-9. The accident is the deadliest tragedy to have affected any sports team in U.S. history.It was the second college football team plane crash in a little over a month, after the October 2 crash that killed 31 (head coach, 14 Wichita State players, and 16 others).

Tri-State Airport (IATA: HTS, ICAO: KHTS, FAA LID: HTS) (Milton J. Ferguson Field) is a public airport in Wayne County, West Virginia, United States, three miles south of Huntington, West Virginia, near Ceredo and Kenova. Owned by the Tri-State Airport Authority, it serves Huntington; Ashland, Kentucky; and Ironton, Ohio. It has heavy use for general aviation, and after the withdrawal of Delta Air Lines in June 2012, it was down to two airlines, one of which provides nationwide connecting service. In addition, there is one cargo airline flying to the airport, for a total of three commercial airlines serving it. On August 2, 2021, a federal subsidy was announced to subsidize flights to Washington-Dulles and Chicago-O'Hare airports. It is not yet known which airline will operate the flights. Federal Aviation Administration records say the airport had 115,263 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2010, 10.9% more than 2009. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021 categorized it as a non-hub primary commercial service facility.The first airline flights were Piedmont DC-3s around the end of 1952; Eastern and Allegheny arrived in 1953. Eastern left about the end of 1972; Piedmont and Allegheny remained through the 1989 merger. The first jets were Piedmont 737s in 1969 (the runway was then 5280 feet). Eastern Airlines provided jet service beginning July 1, 1968 using a DC-9 jet. According to the Eastern Airlines timetable, effective June 21, 1968, the routing was LEX-HTS-EWR. HTS had 5 other EA in the same schedule with 1 on a Lockheed Electra & the other 4 on Convair 440s. The airport is the second busiest airport in West Virginia after Yeager Airport in Charleston, West Virginia. Huntington Tri-State airport has the second longest runway in West Virginia. The airport is replacing lights in the terminal and hangars with LED lights as of November 2021.

Big Dipper is a wooden roller coaster at Camden Park that opened in 1958.

Camden Park is a twenty-six acre amusement park located near Huntington, West Virginia. Established in 1903 as a picnic spot by the Camden Interstate Railway Company, it is one of only thirteen trolley parks that remain open in the United States. Whereas most trolley parks were located at the end of trolley lines, Camden Park is unusual in that it was built where riders traveling between Huntington and nearby cities would stop to change lines. Not long after opening, the park soon gained a carousel and other roadside attractions. Camden Park is West Virginia's only amusement park. The park is home to more than thirty rides and attractions, including a full-size traditional wooden roller coaster, the Big Dipper, and several other vintage rides. Over the years, Camden Park has featured a swimming pool, a roller rink, and even a small zoo. Today, the park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including live musical performances as part of the "Hot Summer Nights" concert series. Other events include the "Children's Festival," "Coca-Cola Days," and the "Halloween Spooktacular." The park is typically open six days a week from late May to early August, with a more limited schedule in late August, and select dates in September and October.

Twelvepole Creek is a 32.2-mile-long (51.8 km) river located in Wayne County, West Virginia. It is part of the Mississippi River watershed, by way of the Ohio River. It is alternately known as Twelve Pole Creek.

The Thunderbolt Express was a looping shuttle roller coaster located at Camden Park. Originally named Screamin' Demon (and later just Demon) when it operated at Kings Island from 1977 to 1987, the roller coaster was built and designed by Arrow Dynamics. It was sold to Camden Park following the 1987 season, and reopened at its new location in 1988. Following an electrical issue in 1999, the ride was closed indefinitely for a period of time. An announcement surfaced that the ride would reopen in 2002, but the roller coaster was dismantled following the 2004 season and replaced by a miniature golf course.
