St Leonard's Church, Scarcliffe, is a Grade II* listed parish church in the Church of England in Scarcliffe, Derbyshire.

Bolsover Tunnel is a disused and infilled twin-track railway tunnel between Carr Vale and Scarcliffe in Derbyshire, England. At 2,624 yd (1.5 mi; 2.4 km) it was the 18th longest railway tunnel in Britain prior to its closure in 1951.

The Bolsover School is a mixed secondary school located in Bolsover in the English county of Derbyshire.The previous buildings were closed in July 2010 and later demolished, replaced by a new-build nearby on the former football pitch. Ex-pupil Steven Blakeley attended an open day on 17 July 2010, where former pupils and staff could meet.The school was converted to academy status on 1 October 2012. It was previously a community school administered by Derbyshire County Council. The Bolsover School continues to coordinate with Derbyshire County Council for admissions. The Bolsover School maintains a number of links with partner school abroad including Highland Park High School in Texas, United States, Kong Jiang Middle School in Shanghai, China, Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Groß-Umstadt, Germany and Evangelisches Gymnasium in Berlin, Germany.In 2014 the school joined a consortium with Heritage High School, Shirebrook Academy and Springwell Community College to form 'Aspire Sixth Form', a sixth form provision that operated across all the school sites. Aspire Sixth Form closed in 2016 due to low pupil numbers.

Stony Houghton is a hamlet near Glapwell, part of the parish of Pleasley in Derbyshire, England, close to New Houghton. It is a very quiet area consisting of only a few residential properties amidst farmland and farmsteads, retaining a peaceful environment with attractive scenery and landscape. The roads are quiet with no pedestrian footways. Horse riders are known to use the roads so drivers need to exercise caution. The building pictured has now been sympathetically restored and modernised, maintaining the traditional rural setting of previous years. Some of the properties around Stoney Houghton are Chatsworth Estate tied cottages, which are rented out to tenants who may be related to previous estate workers who have traditionally rented over the past years. One bus route travels through the village run by Stagecoach in Mansfield. Scarcliffe Woods are nearby, offering easy access to walking amenities.

These consist of Langwith, Langwith Maltings, Nether Langwith, Upper Langwith, Langwith Bassett and Langwith Junction.

Shirebrook Academy (formerly Shirebrook School) is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in Shirebrook in the county of Derbyshire, and is part of the Aston Community Education Trust.Previously a community school administered by Derbyshire County Council, the school converted to academy status in September 2010 and was renamed Shirebrook Academy. An official opening occurred in November, 2010 with Lord Winston, then Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University, as guest speaker, lecturing a class about DNA and taking questions from the student council.The school is sponsored by Sheffield Hallam University, but continues to coordinate with Derbyshire County Council for admissions. Shirebrook Academy relocated into a new building on Common Lane in April 2013.The building is shared with Stubbin Wood School, a special school for children ages 2 to 19 who have learning disabilities including those on the autistic spectrum, which moved in April 2013 from its previous location in Burlington Avenue, Langwith Junction, a part of Shirebrook. Prior to relocation where the newer facility is three times the size, the school had a full quota of 133, and had a waiting list. The Stubbin Wood Nursery is still based at Burlington Avenue.In 2014 the school joined a consortium with The Bolsover School, Heritage High School and Springwell Community College to form 'Aspire Sixth Form', a sixth form provision that operated across all the school sites. Over Woodhouse is a suburban area lying just North-West of Bolsover Towncentre, Derbyshire, just to the north of Bolsover Castle, on a hill facing it. The whole area is hemed-in by the A632, the B6419 to Shuttlewood, and two other roads which join together and lead to B6418 to Shuttlewood, lying just east of the former Bolsover Colliery. It consists primarily of one large Post-World War II housing estate. Though there are some older properties within it.
