Midwest Training and Ice Center is an ice arena and gymnastics and recreational sport facility in Dyer, Indiana. It features an Olympic size sheet of ice for hockey, figure skating and open skating, a state-of-the-art fitness center and facilities for gymnastics. The arena was the home of the junior ice hockey team the Illiana Blackbirds of the USPHL Midwest until 2016. It is currently home to another team with the same nickname, the Midwest Blackbirds. The ice arena is also the home of local high school hockey teams and recreational teams. Current seating capacity for spectators is 1,500.

Monon Park Dancing Pavilion is a historic dance hall building located at Cedar Lake, Lake County, Indiana. It was built in 1897, as a one-story, open air frame building supported by brick piers. The building measures 55 feet by 110 feet and has a massive gable on hip roof with deeply overhanging eaves. It displays some Stick / Eastlake movement design elements. The building was acquired in 1915 by the Moody Memorial Bible Church, who enclosed and enlarged the original structure.: 2–3  A restoration project was underway in 2013. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

The population was 14,850 at the 2010 census. In 2009, St. John ranked 48th among CNN's top 100 places to live in the United States. In 2014, St. John was ranked as the 4th safest place in Indiana by Movoto Real Estate.

Lassen Hotel is a historic hotel building located at 7808 West 138th Place in Cedar Lake, Lake County, Indiana. It is a two-story, T-shaped frame building sheathed in clapboard. It has a hipped roof and features a wraparound verandah overlooking Cedar Lake. The eastern section of the building was built about 1890. It was moved to its present location during mid-winter of 1919 and the lakefront section was built onto it in 1920. Its grand opening was on May 7, 1921. It is home to the Red Cedars Lake History Museum, now the Museum at Lassen's Resort on Cedar Lake.: 2–3  A restoration project was underway in 2013. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

St. John the Evangelist Parish is a Roman Catholic church located in St. John, Indiana, United States. The Church was the first church in Lake County and was founded in 1839 by German immigrant John Hack. The present church has 1,335 families that belong to the parish. St. John the Evangelist Parish also has a private school called St. John the Evangelist School. The school contains grades pre-K through eight and has over 300 students enrolled.

Francis P. Keilman House is a historic home located at St. John, Lake County, Indiana. It was built about 1857, and is a two-story, side hall plan balloon frame dwelling with Italianate style design elements. It has a front gable roof and a rear addition built about 1900. Also on the property are the contributing wood frame stable (c. 1890) with a garage addition (c. 1940) and a wood frame rabbit hutch (c. 1940).: 3 It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
