Oberhain

Mittleres Schwarzatal is a former Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("municipal association") in the district Saalfeld-Rudolstadt, in Thuringia, Germany. The seat of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was in Sitzendorf. It was disbanded in January 2019. The Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Mittleres Schwarzatal consisted of the following municipalities: Allendorf Bechstedt Döschnitz Dröbischau Mellenbach-Glasbach Meura Oberhain Rohrbach Schwarzburg Sitzendorf Unterweißbach

The Oberweißbacher Bergbahn is a German railway in the Thuringian Highland, Thuringia. Since 1922 it connects Obstfelderschmiede (Mellenbach-Glasbach) with the village Lichtenhain, Oberweißbach and Cursdorf. The train consists of 1.351 km broad gauge cable railway and connects to a 2.635 km standard gauge electrified adhesion railway.

The present municipality was formed on 31 December 2012 by the merger of the former municipalities Königsee and Rottenbach, under the name Königsee-Rottenbach. On 1 January 2019 the former municipalities Dröbischau and Oberhain were absorbed, and the name was changed to Königsee.
