Little Long Pond (Plymouth, Massachusetts)

Gallows Pond is a 43-acre (170,000 m2) kettlehole pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The pond is west of and adjacent to Long Pond, south of Little Long Pond, and northeast of Halfway Pond. Camp Wind-in-the-Pines Girl Scout Center is located along the shore of this pond.

Plymouth South High School, also known as Plymouth South, or PSHS, is a public high school located in Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States. Its students are residents of the town of Plymouth. Plymouth South is one of two high schools in Plymouth, the other being Plymouth North High School. Plymouth South is located near the Long Pond neighborhood of Plymouth, west of Route 3 and The Pinehills development, and also adjacent to nearby Myles Standish State Forest, which is the biggest publicly owned recreation area in the South Shore region of Massachusetts, and also one of the biggest in the state. The school colors are Black, Teal and White and the school's teams are the Panthers.

Long Pond is a 211-acre (0.85 km2) cold water pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts, east of Myles Standish State Forest, Halfway Pond and Round Pond, west of Route 3 at Exit 3 and The Pinehills, northwest of Bloody Pond, and north of West Wind Shores. The pond has an average depth of 46 feet (14 m) and a maximum depth of 100 feet (30 m). It is fed by groundwater and an inlet from Little Long Pond, and drains through the pond bottom. A paved boat ramp provided by the Public Access Board with ample parking spaces is easily accessible from Route 3. The Pond has a 50 hp limitation on boating.

Halfway Pond a 232-acre (0.94 km2) warm water pond located in Plymouth, Massachusetts between Myles Standish State Forest and Long Pond, west of Round Pond, southwest of Gallows Pond, and north of Fawn Pond and White Island Pond. The average depth is nine feet and the maximum depth is 13 feet (4.0 m). The pond is fed by groundwater springs and drains into the Agawam River. Halfway Pond Island lies in the middle of the pond and is managed as a research natural area by The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts. There are almost three miles (5 km) of shoreline.Access here is informal and can be located off of Mast Road, a portion of which abuts the western shoreline of the pond. Parking is limited to just two or three cars and boaters will have to stick with canoes and other car top craft. Substantial amounts of shoreline are open to fishing.

Round Pond is a 10-acre (40,000 m2) pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The pond is adjacent to Long Pond to the southwest, and east of Long Pond village and Halfway Pond.

The Pinehills is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the Pine Hills region of Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States. At the 2010 census, the population was 955. It includes a real estate development that bears the same name. As of 2008, the project is the largest new residential and commercial development in New England.According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.1 mi² (2.9 km2), all land.

Pinewoods Camp is a traditional dance and music camp located on 31 acres (13 ha) of woodland between Long Pond and Round Pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It is the oldest continuously run folk dance camp in the U.S., and is arguably the most popular and well-known camp of its type.

Bloody Pond is a 98-acre (400,000 m2) natural kettlehole pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts, near Long Pond village. The pond is located southeast of Long Pond. This pond, visible from the southbound side of Route 3 past the Ship Pond Road bridge, is fed by groundwater and has over two miles (3 km) of shoreline. The average depth is 17 feet (5.2 m) and the maximum depth is 38 feet (12 m). Legal public access to the pond is obtained through a dirt road off of Long Pond Road and is suitable primarily for shore and wading fishermen as the access point is a long walk from a two-car parking lot in front of a gate. The name "Bloody Pond" commemorates an Indian battle fought there.

Massasoit National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1983 to conserve the federally endangered Plymouth Red-bellied Turtle, as well as other wildlife and plant species. The Refuge encompasses 195 acres (0.79 km2) in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It is made up of two parcels; the Crooked Pond parcel abuts the Myles Standish State Forest, the second largest State forest in Massachusetts, and the smaller parcel is located on the shoreline of Island Pond. Massasoit National Wildlife Refuge is located within a 3,269-acre (13.23 km2) area designated as critical habitat for the Plymouth Red-bellied Turtle.

Sacrifice Rock is a historic Wampanoag site in Plymouth, Massachusetts in the Pine Hills region, located in the northern section of The Pinehills residential project on Old Sandwich Road. The site is owned by the Plymouth Antiquarian Society. In 1928, Sacrifice Rock was given to the Antiquarian Society by Abbott A. Raymond. In 1940, cement posts were erected to mark the site. A commemorative stone marker was added about 1960. The marker was replaced by a metal plaque in 1991. The name of the rock reflects the practice of the Wampanoag of placing sticks and branches on the rock when leaving the area, known traditionally as Patuxet.

Island Pond is a 12-acre (49,000 m2) pond in the South Pond section of Plymouth, Massachusetts, one of three ponds named Island Pond within the town (One is located in the Cedarville section of town, and the other is in The Pinehills development, better known as Great Island Pond). The pond is part of the Eel River watershed. The pond is located northeast of Gunners Exchange Pond and Hoyts Pond, and north of Myles Standish State Forest. A portion of the Massasoit National Wildlife Refuge lies along the shoreline of this pond.

Great Island Pond, known officially as Island Pond, is a 77-acre (310,000 m2) pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts, one of three ponds known as Island Pond within the town (One is located near South Pond village, and the other is located in the Cedarville section of town). The pond is located in the eastern portion of The Pinehills development south of Little Island Pond. The Pinehills has a private sewer treatment facility near this pond, which was also formerly used as a holding facility by The Pine Hills LLC Golf Club until the spring of 2003. The Golf Club currently is permitted to withdraw water from four interceptor wells located between the sewer treatment facility and the pond.
