Veritas Academy is a private classical Christian university-model school in Southwest Austin, Texas. "It is a private, classical, college prep school that seeks to train hearts and minds for the glory of God through rigorous curricula, character education, competitive athletics, fine & performing arts, and an array of extra‐ and co-curricular activities.", offering primary and secondary education from preschool through twelfth grade. Through eighth grade, students are partially homeschooled, with parents acting as "co-teachers" that assist with teaching and assessing students. Veritas Academy operated on the property of Austin Oaks Church until 2018, when it moved to a new, permanent campus on Escarpment Boulevard. Since the new property is located on the Edward's Aquifer, only 39 acres can be developed.

Circle C Ranch (also known as Circle C) is a large master-planned community in southwest Austin, Texas, USA. Development of Circle C Ranch began in 1982, with the first homes in the community in built in 1986. During development, the subdivision was featured prominently in a long and contentious environmental legal battle regarding urban development in the vicinity of Barton Springs and over Edwards Aquifer. The controversy surrounding its development and later annexation by the city of Austin was a landmark in municipal annexation rights in Texas. Today, Circle C Ranch includes more than 5,614 homes. Amenities include an 18-hole golf course called the Grey Rock Golf Club, tennis club, four swim centers, a fire station, and more than 500 acres (2.0 km2) of dedicated parkland. The Circle C Swim Center has a year-round, outdoor, Olympic-size heated pool. A second, family-oriented swimming pool complex, with adjacent office space and meeting rooms, was finished at the end of January 2012. The third pool, found in the Avaña section of Circle C, was built in 2014 and opened in 2015. The fourth pool, located in the GreyRock section of Circle C, opened in 2017.

Radha Madhav Dham, originally called Barsana Dham is the main U.S. center of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, a nonprofit organization located on more than 200 acres of land in Hays County, south of Austin, Texas. It is a Hindu temple and ashram campus, the oldest Hindu Temple in Texas the largest in North America.Radha Madhav Dham is a nonprofit, religious, educational, and charitable organization that follows the path of raganuga bhakti. The temple is involved in numerous charitable educational projects including JKP Education, which won the Nelson Mandela Peace Award instituted by the Economic Growth Society of India in April 2014.Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj was an Indian religious leader, and the founder of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP), a worldwide Hindu non-profit organization with five main ashrams, four in India and one in the United States. Radha Madhav Dham is the main ashram of JKP for the United States. The temple was founded by Prakashanand Saraswati. Saraswati was convicted in 2011 of 20 counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and sentenced to 280 years of prison. As of 2015 all images and mentions of Saraswati have been removed from the temple, which has said that its leadership has been changed and that it has no knowledge of Saraswati's whereabouts.

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at The University of Texas at Austin is the state botanical garden and arboretum of Texas. The center features more than 900 species of native Texas plants in both garden and natural settings and is home to a breadth of educational programs and events. The center is 284 acres and located 10 miles southwest of downtown Austin, Texas just inside the edge of the distinctive Texas hill country. It straddles both Edwards Plateau and Texas Blackland Prairies ecosystems. The center is dedicated to "inspiring the conservation of native plants" and promoting the environmental benefits of native plant landscapes. It is home to the most comprehensive native plant database in the U.S., which features profiles of more than 9,000 North American native plants along with a number of other resources (see Native Plants of North America). The Wildflower Center has 9 acres of cultivated gardens, including the Luci and Ian Family Garden and the Ann and O.J. Weber Pollinator Habitat Garden. Its 16-acre Mollie Steves Zachry Texas Arboretum features collections of tree and shrub species from across the state of Texas. Miles of walking trails, educational exhibits, a gift store, cafe and biannual sales of native plants round out the offerings. In 2013, the syndicated television series, Texas Country Reporter, hosted by Bob Phillips, declared the center the No. 1 site from which to view wildflowers within Texas.

Shady Hollow is a census-designated place (CDP) in southwestern Travis County, Texas, United States, and is partially in the City of Austin. It is located ten miles (16 km) southwest of Downtown Austin, near the Travis/Hays county line. The population was 5,004 at the 2010 census.

Life Family established on the west side of Austin, TX. The church was started in 2005 by pastor Randy Phillips. newspaper=Austin American-Statesman|date=7 February 2005}} who is also a member of the musical group Phillips, Craig and Dean. The church has approximately 3,500 congregants.

KTXX-FM (104.9 MHz, "The Horn") is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Bee Cave, Texas, and serving the Greater Austin radio market. The station broadcasts a sports radio format and is owned by Genuine Austin Radio. KTXX-FM's transmitter is located on State Highway 71 on the west side of Austin. The station has studios and offices along Loop 360 in Southwest Austin. KTXX-FM broadcasts in the HD Radio format. Its HD3 digital subchannel simulcasts the progressive country format heard on co-owned 99.3 KOKE-FM. The HD4 subchannel airs a classic hits sound, known as "The Bat," which feeds FM translator 105.3 K287FG. In addition, most of KTXX-FM's sports programming is heard on sister station AM 1260 KTAE in Taylor and its translator, 101.9 K270CO Round Rock.

Austin Zoo is a non-profit rescue zoo and located in southwestern unincorporated Travis County, Texas, United States, west of Austin. The zoo is accreddited by the Zoological Association of America.The mission of Austin Zoo is to assist animals in need through rescue, conservation, and education. Austin Zoo currently has over 300 animals from over 100 different species, including African Lions, Bengal tigers, cougars, three species of monkeys, black bears, ring-tailed lemurs, and porcupines.
