But because AM 720 is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WGN Chicago, KSAH must reduce power at night to 890 watts to avoid interference. The station uses a directional antenna around the clock.

The population was 362 at the 2010 census.Once known as "Perryman's Crossing", it was a crossing on the Wood Road, an early road between Gonzales and San Antonio. Wilhem Zuehl bought the land in 1870 and two years later opened a store, from which the community took its name.
