Ironhead Airport (FAA LID: T58) is a public airport located three miles (4.8 km) southwest of the central business district (CBD) of Sanger, in Denton County, Texas, United States. The airport is used solely for general aviation purposes. It is not an army operated or controlled base. Civil forces have used it before, but they asked permission from the owners. The airport is a grass strip and is closed at dawn and dusk. It is also closed when it is too wet to take off or land.

Bolivar ( BOL-i-vər) is an unincorporated community in northern Denton County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 40 in 2000. It is located within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

KNTU (88.1 FM) is the campus radio station of the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. The signal of the station covers much of the Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex of North Texas with an alternative rock format. KNTU also produces the UNT football and men's basketball broadcast feeds for the Mean Green Sports Network, a radio property of Learfield, but no longer airs the games on 88.1 FM. UNT women's basketball will move to streaming only on Learfield's Varsity App beginning with the 2022-23 season.

It is a part of the Krum Independent School District located in west central Denton County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.In addition to Krum, the school's boundary includes a portion of Denton.

The University of North Texas Discovery Park Campus, formerly Research Park, is a satellite research facility of the University of North Texas. Discovery Park is located in Denton, Texas, north of the main campus, on U.S. Highway 77. In January 2004, the 550,000-square-foot (51,000 m2) facility, formerly occupied by Texas Instruments, opened to students from the UNT College of Engineering. In 2008, the newly formed College of Information joined the Discovery Park campus. The facility houses offices and labs for the Departments of Engineering Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Energy Engineering, Information Science, Learning Technologies, and Linguistics. The Center for Technology Development and Transfer (CTDT) began operations from Discovery Park in 2006. The University of North Texas Discovery Park Library serves the Discovery Park Campus as a satellite branch of the UNT Library system. It is a part of the Valley View Independent School District located in north central Cooke County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

CH Collins Stadium is a 12,000-capacity multi-use stadium in Denton, Texas. The stadium is used mostly for high school football and soccer. In the offseason of 2013, the field was upgraded with new artificial turf.

Lake Ray Roberts (formally Ray Roberts Lake) is an artificial 29,350-acre (119 km2) American reservoir located 10 miles (20 km) north of Denton, Texas, between the cities of Pilot Point, Texas and Sanger, Texas. It is filled by a tributary of the Trinity River. It was named after Ray Roberts (a local congressman who supported creation of the lake) in 1980. The reservoir is located in, and supplies water to, Cooke, Grayson, and Denton counties. On March 2, 1945, the U.S. Congress approved the River & Harbors Act of 1945 which, among many projects, provided for the construction of Benbrook Lake, Grapevine Lake, Lavon Lake and Ray Roberts Lake, as well as modifications to the existing Garza Dam for the construction of Lewisville Lake. Ray Roberts Dam, an earthen structure 141 feet high, is owned and operated by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Ray Roberts is also used for recreation and is home to the Ray Roberts Lake State Park.The construction of Lake Ray Roberts resulted in the dissolution of several communities in the surrounding area. One notable community, which surrounded St. James Baptist Church, was given funds to build a new church in the nearby town of Pilot Point.

The Selwyn College Preparatory School is a school in Denton, Texas. On January 21, 2012 the school's main building along with the kindergarten-5th grade classroom building burnt to the ground.Selwyn will relocate to Argyle, Texas.
