Lake Ray Roberts (formally Ray Roberts Lake) is an artificial 29,350-acre (119 km2) American reservoir located 10 miles (20 km) north of Denton, Texas, between the cities of Pilot Point, Texas and Sanger, Texas. It is filled by a tributary of the Trinity River. It was named after Ray Roberts (a local congressman who supported creation of the lake) in 1980. The reservoir is located in, and supplies water to, Cooke, Grayson, and Denton counties. On March 2, 1945, the U.S. Congress approved the River & Harbors Act of 1945 which, among many projects, provided for the construction of Benbrook Lake, Grapevine Lake, Lavon Lake and Ray Roberts Lake, as well as modifications to the existing Garza Dam for the construction of Lewisville Lake. Ray Roberts Dam, an earthen structure 141 feet high, is owned and operated by the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Ray Roberts is also used for recreation and is home to the Ray Roberts Lake State Park.The construction of Lake Ray Roberts resulted in the dissolution of several communities in the surrounding area. One notable community, which surrounded St. James Baptist Church, was given funds to build a new church in the nearby town of Pilot Point.

CH Collins Stadium is a 12,000-capacity multi-use stadium in Denton, Texas. The stadium is used mostly for high school football and soccer. In the offseason of 2013, the field was upgraded with new artificial turf.

Ray Roberts Lake State Park is a state park located in Denton County, Texas, near Pilot Point, Texas. The park is 3,777 acres (1,528 ha). It is very popular due to its proximity to the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area – in 2016, it was the 8th most popular Texas state park with 244,193 visitors. The park is divided into nine units: three are developed (Johnson Branch, Isle du Bois, and the Greenbelt), and six have boat ramps with lake access (Buck Creek, Jordan, Sanger, Pond Creek, Elm Fork, and Pecan Creek).

KNTU (88.1 FM) is the campus radio station of the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. The signal of the station covers much of the Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex of North Texas with an alternative rock format. KNTU also produces the UNT football and men's basketball broadcast feeds for the Mean Green Sports Network, a radio property of Learfield, but no longer airs the games on 88.1 FM. UNT women's basketball will move to streaming only on Learfield's Varsity App beginning with the 2022-23 season.

Aubrey High School is a public high school located in the city of Aubrey, Texas, USA and classified as a 4A school by the UIL. It is a part of the Aubrey Independent School District located in east central Denton County and serves students in Aubrey and Krugerville. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.The school, much like others in Denton County, has experienced rapid growth. In 2021 the school graduated its second largest class in the institution's history. This led to the school moving from UIL Conference 2A to 3A in 2010, and moving again to 4A in 2014 after the UIL created Conference 6A.

Denton Calvary Academy (DCA, also formerly known as Calvary Preparatory Academy or CPA) is a private, co-educational Christian school in Denton, Texas, United States. DCA is a member of Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). Founded in 1999, DCA serves students from kindergarten through 12th grade. In 1999, it had ninety-five students in grades 1–10. In the 2007-2008 school year, the number of students was 278. Shiloh Field Community Garden is a community garden in Denton, Texas that grows produce for local food pantries and charities. At 14.5 acres, it is considered the largest community garden in the United States by the American Community Garden Association.The garden was founded in 2009 by Gene Gumfory (1939–2020). The land is owned by the Denton Bible Church, but operations are funded through donations. In the first five years of operation, the garden harvested over 100,000 pounds of produce.In 2019, the garden donated 23,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the garden saw an increase in demand, and the Friends of Shiloh Garden organized ways to optimize output. As a result, in the year 2020 alone, the garden donated over 40,000 pounds of produce to local food banks and nonprofits.
