Claridge's

Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's was a restaurant owned by Gordon Ramsay and located with Claridge's hotel in Mayfair, London. Blackstone Group had enquired about Ramsay's availability to open a restaurant after he was awarded three Michelin Stars at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. It marked the first of a number of restaurants that Ramsay would open at hotels owned by Blackstone. It opened in 2001, and by the fourth year was making a profit of £2 million a year. Mark Sargeant was the chef de cuisine of the restaurant until 2008, during which time the restaurant was awarded a Michelin star. The initial contract was for ten years, and after it was extended for three further short periods, Ramsay withdrew from negotiations with the new owners of the hotel and closed the restaurant at the end of the lease on 30 June 2013. It was positively reviewed by critics upon its launch, although work was required by staff to reduce the numbers of complaints it received from diners. Whilst some restaurant guides such as Zagat gave the restaurant positive reviews, Harden's did not. Both Sargeant and his successor Steve Allen won awards for cheffing when they worked at the restaurant.

Brook Street is an axial street in the exclusive central London district of Mayfair. Most of it is leasehold, paying ground rent to and seeking lease renewals from the reversioner, that since before 1800, has been the Grosvenor Estate. Named after the Tyburn that it crossed, it was developed in the first half of the 18th century and runs from Hanover Square to Grosvenor Square. The western continuation (to Park Lane) is called Upper Brook Street; its west end faces Brook Street Gate of Hyde Park. Both sections consisted of neo-classical terraced houses, mostly built to individual designs. Some of them were very ornate, finely stuccoed and tall-ceilinged, designed by well known architects for wealthy tenants, especially near Grosvenor Square, others exposed good quality brickwork or bore fewer expensive window openings and embellishments. Some of both types survive. Others have been replaced by buildings from later periods. Opulent hotel Claridge's co-fronts two other streets and takes the majority of a block. The Embassy of Argentina is at №65. The Handel & Hendrix in London occupies №s 23-25, once homes of famous musicians Jimi Hendrix and Handel. The baroque chamber music ensemble The Brook Street Band takes its name from №25 where Handel lived from 1723-1759. The French restaurant Le Gavroche is housed on the primary floors of №43 Upper Brook Street.

Gimpel Fils is a London art gallery previously located at 30 Davies Street in Westminster just off Grosvenor Square and has since moved. The gallery was founded by Charles and Peter Gimpel, sons of the celebrated Parisian art dealer, René Gimpel, author of the Diary of an Art Dealer. Throughout its history it has maintained a commitment to contemporary British and International art.

The Bath & Racquets Club is a private members gym and squash club at 49 Brook's Mews in London's Mayfair district. The club has 300 members and is the most expensive private gym club in London. It was established by Mark Birley in 1989. Birley sold the club with his four other Mayfair clubs, Annabel's, Harry's Bar, Mark's Club, and George, to Richard Caring in 2007.

South Molton Street is a street in Mayfair, London, that runs from Oxford Street to Brook Street. Bond Street Underground station is at the north end of the street. The street was built in the mid-18th century as part of the Conduit Mead Estate. It was extensively rebuilt around 1900, but many of the original Georgian houses remain. It is now pedestrianised and contains many shops selling items such as women's fashion and jewellery.

The Grosvenor Gallery Library (est. 1880) was a circulating library in London in the late 19th century. It was affiliated with the Grosvenor Gallery of art on Bond Street, later moving to South Molton Street. It offered subscribers current periodicals, new books, and a Ladies' Reading Room. Owners and staff included Miss Brinstingl, Coutts Lindsay, Mrs. A.W. Pollard, and Thomas Verrinder.
