It is one of the busiest airports in upstate South Carolina. It receives over 14,000 visitors each year and generates over $13 million annually.Anderson has no airline service or concourses for gates, and no control tower, but in 2007 one runway was extended 1,000 ft (300 m) to handle larger aircraft. In May 2018, airport authorities announced plans for a 6.71 million dollar facelift. The plan includes further improvements of the main runway and building a new ADA-compliant general aviation terminal. Once the new terminal was completed, the old terminal built in 1970 was demolished.From 2009 to 2020, the airport hosted an annual airshow that typically runs Saturday-Sunday and was free to the public. The historic district is an architecturally significant area that offers an impressive collection of 20th century Revivals and American Movements. Further, the district is noteworthy for it further represents the development and transition of Anderson from a rural community to a planned city with well-thought out streets and neighborhoods. The district consists of over 147 homes, a number of garages and a few parks. Architectural styles include early twentieth century Revival styles including Tudor, Colonial, and Neo-Classical. The district was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on July 31, 2008.

Denver Downs Farmstead, also known as Garrison Farm, is an historic farm on the outskirts of Anderson, South Carolina.Denver Downs is historically and architecturally significant as an extant working farm dating to 1872. The farmstead consists of 464 acres, but only 20 acres are considered to be part of this Historic Register nomination. In 1974, the farmstead was recognized as a “Century Farm,” having been owned and operated by the same family for 100 years. Denver Downs Farmstead was listed in the National Register March 7, 2007.The main house is a large Colonial Revival farmhouse that features white clapboard siding, a metal roof, and a wraparound porch. The farmstead is bordered on one side by the Clemson Highway, but it is possible to view the farm from one of the public roads that cut through the property.

The Dr. Samuel Marshall Orr House, is an historic house located in Anderson, South Carolina.Built in 1885, the two-story Greek Revival style house features a front façade of four columns that support a broad, plain entablature with low-sloped, boxed cornice pediment. The cornices of the hipped tin-covered roof, pediments, and shed roofs of side porches are adorned with modillions. The main entrance consists of double doors surrounded by a three-light transom, four-light rectangular sidelights, and a pilaster molding that supports a paneled entablature. Directly above the main entrance a double casement window flanked by single casements opens onto a small balcony with a wooden balustrade. Dr. Orr practiced medicine in Anderson for 25 years, and was active in the community. The house was listed in the National Register on April 13, 1973.
