Canada Bay is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of City of Canada Bay. Canada Bay is also a bay on Parramatta River between Concord and Five Dock. The suburb of Canada Bay sits on the southern shore and is bordered by the suburbs of Burwood, Croydon and Five Dock. The City of Canada Bay takes its name from the bay but its administrative centre is located in the suburb of Drummoyne.

Five Dock railway station is a proposed station on the Sydney Metro West that will serve the Sydney suburb of Five Dock. It is scheduled to open with the rest of the line in 2032. Five Dock Station is to be built off Great North Road, between East Street and then at the corner of Second Avenue and Waterview Street. There will be one station entrance at Fred Kelly Place, off Great North Road.

St Alban's Anglican Church is a heritage-listed and active Anglican church at 171 Great North Road, Five Dock in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The property spans back to the early days of British settlement in Australia. The site underwent multiple evolutions and renovations until it became originally included in St Phillip's Parish on 23 June 1802. The foundation stone of the church building was laid on 17 September 1858. The church building was intended to be divided into two parts, as a Parochial School and a Mission Church. The church's life and management relied heavily on the 'mother church' of the district, being St John's, Ashfield which was in close proximity to St Alban's and shared rectors over both sites. The church itself holds not only the church building itself, but a heritage-listed rectory and a centre for both ministry needs and community events called the 'Ridley Centre'. The somewhat expansive property contributes to community events such as the 'Ferragosto' festival and the 'We Love Five Dock' which attracts a number of patrons. It is a heritage-listed item in the Department of the Environment and Heritage's Australian Heritage database. Notable attributes that the church also possesses include the pipe organ (built by W. Davidson in 1891), the stained glass window collection and its interior carpentry. In 2008, St Alban's became part of an amalgamation with three churches, St John's, Ashfield and St Oswald's, Haberfield comprising Christ Church Inner West (CCIW) Anglican Community contributing to the South Sydney Region of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. The church has had a total of 18 rectors. Dave Binggeli is the current curate since 2020, alongside the rector Rev Andrew Katay who has been rector of CCIW since 2008.

Burwood Girls' High School is a public, comprehensive, secondary school for girls, located in Croydon, an inner western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1929, the school enrolled approximately 1,150 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom one percent identified as Indigenous Australians and 69 percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education in accordance with a curriculum developed by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority; the principal is Mia Kumar.

Croydon is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) west of the Sydney central business district. Croydon is split between the two local government areas of Municipality of Burwood and the Inner West Council. The suburb is nestled between the commercial centres of Ashfield and Burwood. It is bounded by Parramatta Road to the north, Iron Cove Creek to the east, Arthur Street to the south and a number of different streets to the west. To the north are Kings and Canada Bays on the closest reach of the Parramatta River, to the northwest is Concord Hospital and the Olympic Games complex at Homebush Bay. To the south is Canterbury Racecourse. The suburb shares its name with Croydon, a large district and borough in the south of London in the United Kingdom. The traditional owners of the land on which Croydon is situated are the Wangal people of the Eora nation.

Croydon Public School is a public, co-educational, primary school, located in Croydon, an inner-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is located within the Burwood Council district. Established in February 1884, Croydon is historically important as one of the first schools built after the Public Instruction Act of 1880. The school currently caters for approximately 596 children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Following completion of Year 6, most students are placed in either Ashfield Boys High School or Burwood Girls High School.

Concord Oval (also Waratah Stadium), is a rugby football stadium in the inner-west Sydney suburb of Concord, Australia. The stadium is able to hold 5,000 people as of November 2022, down from 20,000 when the Concord Oval was opened in 1985. As of 2022, it is used mostly for rugby union matches and hosted eight matches during the 1987 Rugby World Cup. It is also a venue for soccer matches and local rugby league matches. It is the home ground of West Harbour RFC in the Shute Shield rugby union competition, and was the home of Greater Sydney Rams in the defunct National Rugby Championship. It is also the training and administration base for the Wests Tigers rugby league club. The Inter Lions SC soccer club also plays some home games at the ground.

Shubra Hall is a heritage-listed former semi-rural suburban estate and mansion residence and now administration building for school purposes at Boundary Street in the Sydney suburb of Croydon, Municipality of Burwood, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Albert Bond and built from 1869 to 1888 in the Victorian Second Empire architectural style. It is also known as Presbyterian Ladies' College, PLC Croydon and Hordernville. The property is owned by the Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney and was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 19 December 2014.

The Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney (PLC Sydney) is an independent Presbyterian single-sex early learning, primary and secondary day and boarding school for girls, located in Croydon, an inner-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The school has a non-selective enrolment policy for all years except Year 11, and caters for approximately 1,250 girls from age four (Branxton Reception) to age eighteen (Year 12), including 65 boarders. Students attend PLC from all regions of the greater metropolitan area, New South Wales, and overseas.Established in 1888 by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of NSW, PLC is the oldest continuously running Presbyterian Church school in its state. The college is a founding member of the Association of Heads of Independent Girls' Schools and is affiliated with the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia, the Junior School Heads Association of Australia, and the Australian Boarding Schools' Association. PLC is one of two Sydney schools in the Round Square organisation.Notable alumnae include the first qualified female architect in Australia and other pioneering women in education, law, and medicine.

The Free Radical Centre or ARC Centre of Excellence for Free Radical Chemistry and Biotechnology was a research centre from 2005 - 2013 that was established in the 2005 Australian Research Council (ARC) grant funding rounds. The centre was administered from the University of Melbourne, and had nodes at six Australian universities: The University of Melbourne, the Victorian Pharmacy College at Monash University, The Heart Research Institute at the University of Sydney, Queensland University of Technology, the University of Wollongong, and the Australian National University in Canberra. The Centre had over 100 researchers working in all areas of free radical chemistry, from material science to biology. The centre received an initial grant of $12 million from the ARC in 2005 and a further $9.8 million in 2009. Funding for the centre ended in 2013.

St John the Baptist Anglican Church is an active Anglican church located between Alt and Bland Streets, Ashfield, a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Founded in 1840, on land donated by Elizabeth Underwood, the church building is the oldest authenticated surviving building in Ashfield, having been built at the time when subdivision increased the population density sufficiently to turn Ashfield into a town. It was also the first church built along the Parramatta Road which linked the early colonial towns of Sydney and Parramatta. The earliest remaining parts of the building are one of the first Sydney designs by the colonial architect Edmund Blacket, who later became renowned for his ecclesiastical architecture.: p. 51 The expansive church grounds contain a cemetery dating back to 1845 that contains the remains of many notable Ashfield residents. Australia's only memorial to Australian Air Force Cadets occupies a prominent position near the entrance to the church. The St John's site has been listed on the Local Environment Plan Heritage Schedule, and the Register of the National Trust of Australia.St John's is one of three churches, along with St Albans, Five Dock, and St Oswald's, Haberfield, which make up Christ Church Inner West, operating within the parish of Ashfield, Five Dock, and Haberfield, as part of the South Sydney Region of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. The church has had 18 rectors, including William George Hilliard who later became the Bishop of Nelson. Andrew Katay has been rector since early 2005.
