The Presbyterian Ladies' College, Sydney (PLC Sydney) is an independent Presbyterian single-sex early learning, primary and secondary day and boarding school for girls, located in Croydon, an inner-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The school has a non-selective enrolment policy for all years except Year 11, and caters for approximately 1,250 girls from age four (Branxton Reception) to age eighteen (Year 12), including 65 boarders. Students attend PLC from all regions of the greater metropolitan area, New South Wales, and overseas.Established in 1888 by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of NSW, PLC is the oldest continuously running Presbyterian Church school in its state. The college is a founding member of the Association of Heads of Independent Girls' Schools and is affiliated with the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia, the Junior School Heads Association of Australia, and the Australian Boarding Schools' Association. PLC is one of two Sydney schools in the Round Square organisation.Notable alumnae include the first qualified female architect in Australia and other pioneering women in education, law, and medicine.

Croydon railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on the Main Suburban line, serving the Sydney suburb of Croydon, New South Wales, Australia. It is served by Sydney Trains T2 Inner West & Leppington line services. The station was designed by NSW Government Railways and built from 1892 to 1927. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

The Croydon Sewer Vent is a heritage-listed sewer ventilation stack located on a small parcel of land adjacent to 12 Paisley Road in the Sydney suburb of Croydon in the Municipality of Burwood local government area of New South Wales, Australia. It was designed and built by the Metropolitan Board of Water Supply and Sewerage in 1922. It is also known as Sewer Vent and Paisley Road Sewer Vent. The property is owned by Sydney Water, a statutory corporation of the Government of New South Wales. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 15 November 2002.

Burwood Girls' High School is a public, comprehensive, secondary school for girls, located in Croydon, an inner western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1929, the school enrolled approximately 1,150 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom one percent identified as Indigenous Australians and 69 percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education in accordance with a curriculum developed by the New South Wales Education Standards Authority; the principal is Mia Kumar.

Bethlehem College was an Independent Roman Catholic comprehensive single-sex secondary day school for girls, located in Bland Street, Ashfield, the Inner West of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The college was founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity.On 8 June 2022, it was announced that the college would amalgamate with adjacent boys' high school, De La Salle College, and St Vincent’s Primary School, due to increasing demand for co-educational schools in inner Sydney. From 2023, the new school was known as St Vincent's College and from 2027, after a five year transition period, it will become a fully K–12 co-educational school precinct.Students are easily identifiable by the amethyst and navy school uniform—fondly known around the inner western suburbs of Sydney as "Ribena Berries". The Sisters of Charity ran the college until 1991, when it became a systemic Catholic School run by the Catholic Education Office of the Archdiocese of Sydney.

St Vincent's College Ashfield is a Roman Catholic co-educational K-12 school located in Ashfield, New South Wales in the Inner West of Sydney, Australia. The college operates within the Sydney Catholic Schools system and provides education from Kindergarten to Year 12. It was established in 2023 through the amalgamation of three neighbouring Catholic schools: Bethlehem College, De La Salle College and St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School. The merger created a single co-educational K-12 institution on the existing Ashfield campus sites. Prior to the amalgamation, Rosebank College was the only major co-educational Catholic secondary school in the Inner West region of Sydney. Until 2022, many Catholic secondary schools in the area operated as single-sex institutions, including De La Salle College (boys) and Bethlehem College (girls). The creation of St Vincent’s College Ashfield followed increasing demand in the region for co-educational Catholic schooling similar to that offered by Rosebank College. As of 2023, it was reported that the school had 1039 students. The changes occurred alongside other structural reforms within Catholic education in Sydney. In 2022, St Mary's Cathedral College announced plans to transition from a single-sex boys school to a co-educational model. During this period of restructuring, new school branding and uniforms were designed and supplied by the Ranier schoolwear design group, which also designed the uniforms for the new St Vincent's College.

De La Salle College was an independent Roman Catholic comprehensive single-sex secondary day school for boys, located in Ashfield, an inner-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1916 by the De La Salle Brothers and Vincentian Fathers, the college caters to students in Year 7 to Year 12 from the inner-west Parishes of the Archdiocese of Sydney. The college is under the patronage of the Archbishop of Sydney, Anthony Fisher.
