WIOO also simulcasts the majority of its programming on translator 93.9 W230AX, licensed to serve Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. WIOO airs local news in Cumberland County, provides the noonday Tradio show for listener call ins each day as part of its one-hour news and information block, and carries live sports including locally produced Cumberland Valley Eagles football on the Carlisle frequencies and Shippensburg Greyhounds football on FM 93.9. The station carries major college and NFL football, NASCAR and Baltimore Orioles baseball during respective seasons.

Hunters Run is a populated place in the South Mountain Range and Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. It is located where the Gettysburg and Harrisburg Railroad station was established in 1884, at the junction with the 1870 South Mountain Railroad. The junction was later the northeast endpoint of the namesake 1891 Hunter's Run and Slate Belt Railroad.

Boiling Springs High School is the sole high school operated by the district. In the 2016–2017 school year, enrollment was reported as 684 pupils in 9th through 12th grades.Boiling Springs High School students in 10th, 11th, or 12th grades may choose to attend Cumberland-Perry Area Vocational Technical School for training in the construction and mechanical trades; landscaping fields, computer systems; cosmetology; criminal justice and dental assisting fields. Students earned credits towards graduation, as well as industry certifications and college credits in some classes. The Capital Area Intermediate Unit IU15 provides the district with a wide variety of services like specialized education for disabled students and hearing, speech and visual disability services and professional development for staff and faculty. The school's colors are purple and gold. Their name and mascot is based on a famous bubbling spring that is the source of a nearby lake.

The Letort Spring Run Nature Trail (LSRNT) is a rail trail in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The trail stretches between Carlisle Borough's Letort Park and a trailhead approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) south at South Spring Garden Street. It parallels and twice crosses the Letort Spring Run, a limestone stream nationally recognized for its role in fly fishing heritage. The trail is an expression of the Letort Regional Authority's mission to promote appreciation of the Letort, as well as to protect the stream, greenway, and watershed from degradation. The trail begins at Letort Park, which has two baseball fields, a "Fort Letort" playground, and a tennis court. Because homes have been built adjacent to the stream, a segment of trail departs from the stream and former railbed to follow roads between the park and Lamberton Middle School. This section of the trail is approximately 8,757 ft of gravel path with beautiful overhanging trees throughout it, which concludes the trail at Spring Garden Street. The trail is supported by numerous organizations in the local Carlisle area and surrounding area of Pennsylvania.

Boiling Springs Historic District is a national historic district located at Boiling Springs, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The district includes 127 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 1 contributing structure associated with its role as an early iron manufacturing center and surrounding residential areas of Boiling Springs. Most of the contributing buildings date to the mid-19th century starting in 1845, with a few dated to the early period of development. The oldest buildings are a grist mill (c. 1750), the ironmaster's, Michael Ege, mansion (1795), and the restored Boiling Springs Tavern (1832). Other notable non-residential buildings include the former stone stables (1829) and forge building (1850s). Residential areas include notable examples of the Bungalow/craftsman, Late Victorian, and Federal styles. The contributing structure is a stone three-arched bridge (1854).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Boiling Springs Tavern was built in 1832 by Philip Brechbill in the Federal style with native limestone and originally was used as a hotel. Anheuser-Busch was its first owner.Today the Boiling Springs Tavern is closed and has been since the COVID-19 pandemic. It was previously a restaurant and bar.
