Thorndale, Pennsylvania

Thorndale station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Thorndale, Pennsylvania. Located on South Bailey Road and East Lincoln Highway (U.S. 30 Business), it serves the Paoli/Thorndale Line. While Thorndale station is the terminus of SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale Line service, the tracks continue (with service by Amtrak), to points west, including Lancaster, Harrisburg, and Pittsburgh. Amtrak does not stop at Thorndale. This station is 35.2 track miles from Philadelphia's Suburban Station. In 2017, the average total weekday boardings at this station was 427, and the average total weekday alightings was 374.

County Bridge No. 124 is a historic stone arch bridge located in Caln Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It spans Beaver Creek. It has three arch spans, each of which are 24 feet (7.3 m) long. The bridge was constructed in 1916 of squared ashlar.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Clement Atkinson Memorial Hospital is a historic hospital building located at Coatesville, Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. The hospital was founded in 1936 by Whittier C. Atkinson, the first African American physician in Chester County, who named the hospital after his father. It served the local African American population and remained in operation until 1978.The building contains five sections. The original section was the home of Dr. Atkinson. This section is a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay red brick rowhouse dwelling in the Colonial Revival style. It had a one-story, eight-room, hospital wing at the rear of the dwelling, were built in 1932. A second story was added to the hospital wing in 1937. Later additions took place in 1955, 1962, and 1969. The hospital was converted to a community center and low-income apartments in 1991.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Caln Meeting House is a historic Quaker meeting house located at 901 Caln Meeting House Road, near Coatesville in Caln Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1726, and is a one-story, tan fieldstone structure. It was enlarged to its present size in 1801.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Services are still held weekly at the meeting house. A graveyard is also held on the northern end of the building, with another sitting on the other side of PA 340. One third of the Caln Meeting House is used by the Old Caln Historical Society as a local history museum and to house archives, artifacts and other historical memorabilia.

Caln Township () is a township in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 14,428 at the 2020 census. The township was founded by settlers from Calne, Wiltshire in England in 1714; the relationship between Calne and Wiltshire continues in the present since the two are sister cities. Caln is a township of the First Class, and the governing body is a Board of Commissioners. The township also owns Ingleside Golf Club and over 200 acres (0.81 km2) of green space and parks. Atop of a hill overlooking Coatesville and located in Caln, the historic Coatesville VA Medical Center (a major Veterans Administration hospital) provides care to approximately 20,000 veterans in the region annually. Brandywine Hospital, which resided in Caln Township, was abruptly closed in January 2022 by West Reading-based Tower Health after systemwide financial difficulties. The hospital primarily served northwestern Chester County. Caln Township is part of Coatesville Area School District (CASD). The western end of the township along U.S. Business 30 is sometimes referred to as the Village of Caln. Historically, there were places referred to as Reeceville (northwestern corner), Ingleside (between Caln and Thorndale), Bondsville (north of Thorndale), and Galagherville between Thorndale and Downingtown in the township. The names of these communities have since fallen out of usage, except for local road names and CASD’s Reeceville Elementary School.

United Sports (formerly known as United Sports Training Center) is a multiple-use sports complex located in West Bradford Township, Pennsylvania. The indoor venue consists of one boarded court, two boarded turf fields, and a large field house. In addition, the outdoor venue consists of four turf fields and seven grass fields. The main turf stadium seats 1,200. United Sports' outdoor facility currently plays host to youth soccer clubs FC Delco and Penn Fusion, which has produced players such as Ben Olsen, Jeff Parke, Jeff Larentowicz, Keegan Rosenberry, and Anthony Fontana among others. United Sports previously hosted the practices and training camps of the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League and the Philadelphia Independence of Women's Professional Soccer, and was formerly home to the Philadelphia Barrage of Major League Lacrosse and the Philadelphia Pirates of the Women's Premier Soccer League.

Along with southwest Delaware County, eastern Chester County is home to many communities that comprise part of the Philadelphia Main Line western suburbs of Philadelphia. As of 2020, the county had the highest median household income level in Pennsylvania, and the 35th-highest in the nation.

Caln is a census-designated place (CDP) in Caln Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,519 at the 2010 census. It is located east of the city of Coatesville and lies west of Philadelphia.

The Downingtown Industrial and Agricultural School (DIAS) was a school for African American students in Chester County, Pennsylvania, from 1905 until 1993. Its motto was "self help through self work". It was located in what is now East Brandywine Township.
