Dodleston

St Mary's Church is in the village of Dodleston, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester and the deanery of Chester.

Dodleston Castle in Cheshire was founded in the Middle Ages as a ringwork castle before being developed into a motte-and-bailey.: 42  It was first mentioned in 1277, but may have existed in the 12th century when the manor of Dodleston was held by the Boydel family.: 27  The site has been protected as a scheduled monument since 1952. The earthworks were surveyed in 1964, 1986, and 1995 – the third survey was the most detailed and was carried out by University College Chester.: 36 

Pulford was a short-lived minor railway station located on the Great Western Railway's Paddington to Birkenhead line several miles south of Chester, just inside the English border. The route is still open today as part of the Shrewsbury to Chester Line. Nothing now remains at the site except for a Pulford AHB level crossing. The double track on the Wrexham to Chester section was singled in 1983 but was redoubled through here in 2017 as part of a £40 million upgrade of the route.

Balderton is a village in Cheshire, England. Nearby is Eaton Hall from where the Eaton Hall Railway, one of the first 15-inch gauge railways, ran to the goods yard of the GWR railway station. Both of these have closed.

Balderton railway station was a minor railway station serving the village of Balderton in Cheshire, England. It was located on the Great Western Railway (GWR) main line from London Paddington to Birkenhead Woodside. The 53-yard (48 m) Balderton Tunnel is just south of the station site, and there is an automatic half-barrier (AHB) level crossing adjacent to the site today. The 15 in (381 mm) gauge Eaton Hall Railway, opened in 1896 to serve the estate of the Duke of Westminster, met the GWR line at Balderton.

Green Paddocks (originally The Limes Farmhouse) is a house in Pulford, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Bretton Hall is located on the border of England and Wales close to the village of Bretton, Flintshire, Wales. The original fortified manor house was surrounded by a moat, it was replaced by a brick built house adjacent to the original site in the 18th century. The moat and foundations of the original house remain. The earliest references to Bretton Hall refer to a marriage between Isobel, daughter of Ralph Holland of Bretton and Hugh de Ravenscroft of Cheshire in the 15th century.

Pulford is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Poulton and Pulford, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is on the B5445 road, to the south west of Chester and on the border with Wales. The civil parish, which included the hamlet of Cuckoo's Nest, was abolished on 1 April 2015 and merged with Poulton to form "Poulton and Pulford".According to the 2001 census, the population of the entire parish was 395, increasing to 580 at the 2011 census.

Lower Kinnerton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Dodleston, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, close to the England–Wales border. The neighbouring village of Higher Kinnerton is across the border in Flintshire. Lower Kinnerton is south of Broughton and to the north west of the village of Dodleston. It is a small agricultural community, which is also home to a local kennel and cattery business. The population was recorded at 97 in 1801, 94 in 1851, 127 in 1901 and 142 in 1951. In the 2001 census it had a population of 119, increasing to 136 at the 2011 census.Lower Kinnerton Hall (also known as Bridge Farm Farmhouse) was built in 1685, using brown brick with stone dressings and with a slated roof. Attached to the building is a shippon (cattle-shed) dating from the 18th century. Lower Kinnerton Hall is a designated Grade II listed building.
