Croydon, Pennsylvania

Croydon station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Croydon, Pennsylvania. Located at Bristol Pike and Cedar Avenue, it serves the Trenton Line. The station is located along the Northeast Corridor, owned by Amtrak. It is 19.9 miles (32.0 km) from 30th Street Station. Amtrak does not stop at this station. In 2004, it saw 293 boardings on an average weekday. It was scheduled for renovation in Spring 2009, including an expanded parking lot, covered windscreen shelters, new lighting and raised platforms. Talks of a "super station" were active in 2007–2008 but have not been revisited. Despite the failed proposal to convert Croydon into a super station, Croydon recently underwent a complete upgrade due to infrastructure funding under the recovery act. The two green shelters have been torn down, new raised accessible platforms have been added, new parking lots have been paved, new lighting has been erected, and a new underpass walkway has been added. The station was completed in the fall of 2011, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on October 28, 2011.

Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company is a brewery founded in 2010 in the town of Croydon in lower Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA. It is considered to be the first production brewery in the county, and borders the city of Philadelphia.

Mill Creek (also known as Otter Creek) is a 11.04 miles (17.77 km) long tributary of the Delaware River and is one of six streams in Bucks County, Pennsylvania by the same name. Mill Creek rises just east of Core Creek Park in Middletown Township and reaches its confluence at the Delaware River's 118.87 river mile in Bristol Borough.

Bristol College was an Episcopal manual labor college located near Bristol, Pennsylvania. It was established on October 2, 1833, by the Episcopal Education Society of Philadelphia. The Rev. Chauncey Colton (1800–1876) was its only president. The institution closed in February 1837 for lack of financial support.

Neshaminy Creek is a 40.7-mile-long (65.5 km) stream that runs entirely through Bucks County, Pennsylvania, rising south of the borough of Chalfont, where its north and west branches join. Neshaminy Creek flows southeast toward Bristol Township and Bensalem Township to its confluence with the Delaware River. The name "Neshaminy" originates with the Lenni Lenape and is thought to mean "place where we drink twice". This phenomenon refers to a section of the creek known as the Neshaminy Palisades, where the course of the water slows and changes direction at almost a right angle, nearly forcing the water back upon itself. These palisades are located in Dark Hollow Park, operated by the county, and are flanked by Warwick Township to the south and Buckingham Township to the north.

Little Jerusalem AME Church, also known as Bensalem AME Church, is a historic African Methodist Episcopal church located at 1200 Bridgewater Road in Cornwells Heights, Bensalem Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1830, and renovated about 1860 and 1896. It is a 1+1⁄2-story, one room frame structure with a gable roof. The cemetery surrounding the church contains burials of black Civil War soldiers.It is one of the oldest African American churches, having been established about 1820 by Rev. James Miller under the supervision of Richard Allen (1760–1831), founder of the AME Church. The pulpit of the church was built by Allen. The church served as a shelter in the Underground Railroad helping those fleeing slavery. It was the only traditionally African-American church in Bensalem Township from 1830 until 1930. Under the pastorate of Reverend John Butler, a sabbath school was established in 1848 to teach local African Americans to read and write.The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Pennco Tech is a private for-profit technical school in Bristol, Pennsylvania, and Blackwood, New Jersey. It was founded in 1973.

Maple Beach is an unincorporated community in Bristol Township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. Maple Beach is located along the Delaware River at the Pennsylvania approach to the Burlington-Bristol Bridge. In 1917, Rohm and Haas purchased the residential properties in Maple Beach as part of an expansion of industrial activities in the area. Four homes remained in Maple Beach as of 2013. As of June 13, 2020, large signs at the north entrance indicated that the land is private property owned by Dow Chemical Company and trespassing would be prosecuted.

The Burlington–Bristol Bridge is a truss bridge with a lift span crossing the Delaware River from Burlington, New Jersey to Bristol Township, Pennsylvania in the United States. Construction of the bridge started on April 1, 1930, and the bridge opened to traffic on May 2, 1931. The bridge carries New Jersey Route 413 and Pennsylvania Route 413 (PA 413). The two-lane bridge has a total length of 2,301 feet (701 m), and is operated by the Burlington County Bridge Commission. The lift span is 540 feet (164.6 m) long.The center span is lifted by the action of two large concrete slabs of slightly greater weight than the lifted span, which block traffic when fully down. They are set in downwards motion to lift the bridge by a very slight action of the motors, as gravity does the rest. In 2016, traffic signals and barrier gates were installed at each end of the bridge for stopping traffic when the draw span is being lifted. A municipal garage is located underneath the rising road after the tollbooths. During times when the bridge is up for a boat passing underneath, large traffic backups are created on Keim Boulevard, the road that functions as the route to the bridge from U.S. Route 130 (US 130) and Broad Street. The tollbooths are equipped with E-ZPass and the toll as of September 15, 2015 — $4.00 for cars, or $3 with E-ZPass — is paid by vehicles crossing into Pennsylvania.New bridges for the site have been proposed, but most would require the access ramp to extend out to US 130, which would result in the destruction of historic buildings, as well as the large industrial park near the bridge.

Lower Bucks Hospital is a hospital located in Bristol, Pennsylvania. The hospital focuses on behavioral health, cardiology, emergency medicine, orthopedics, radiology and general surgery. Lower Bucks has a Level IV Trauma Center and is affiliated with the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Doane Academy is a coeducational, independent day school for servig students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, located in Burlington in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Originally called St. Mary's Hall, it was founded in May 1837 by Episcopal Bishop George Washington Doane, initially as an Episcopal girls' boarding school, the first in the United States to offer a classical academic education. In 1955 affiliation with the diocese was severed. In 1966 a boys' school, known as Doane Academy, was built on campus. The schools were merged in 1974 as St. Mary's Hall-Doane Academy. Later the name was shortened to the Doane Academy. The head of school is Erin Pike Mayo The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools until July 2029 and has been accredited since 1989, and is a member of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools, the National Association of Independent Schools and the National Association of Episcopal Schools.

Burlington South is a station on NJ Transit's River Line light rail system, located on West Broad Street in Burlington, Burlington County, New Jersey, United States, near the New Jersey side of the Burlington–Bristol Bridge. The station opened on March 15, 2004. Southbound service from the station is available to Camden, New Jersey. Northbound service is available to the Trenton Transit Center with connections to NJ Transit trains to New York City, SEPTA trains to Philadelphia, and Amtrak trains. Transfer to the PATCO Speedline is available at the Walter Rand Transportation Center. Park and ride service is available at this station, which is near the southeastern plaza of the Burlington–Bristol Bridge. The station contains a pair of non-functioning railroad signals and a sign on the evolution of grade crossing signs in front of a bicycle rack. A similar display can be found at Riverton further to the southwest.
