Dormont, Pennsylvania

The South Hills is the southern suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Two suburban municipalities that are included in the South Hills outside of Pittsburgh are Bethel Park and Mt. Lebanon, as well as the boroughs of Castle Shannon, Dormont, and Green Tree. The South Hills also includes the townships of Baldwin, Collier, Scott, South Park, and Upper St. Clair, plus the boroughs of Baldwin (not to be confused with the previously mentioned township of Baldwin), Brentwood, Bridgeville, Heidelberg, Jefferson Hills, Mount Oliver, Pleasant Hills, West Mifflin, and Whitehall. Much of the South Hills was originally a land grant to John Ormsby.

Kelton was a station on the Port Authority of Allegheny County's light rail network, located in Dormont, Pennsylvania. The street level stop was located in a densely populated residential area. Kelton was one of eleven stops closed on June 25, 2012 as part of a system-wide consolidation effort.

Keystone Oaks School District is a small, public school district in suburban Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The district consists of 3 non-contiguous communities and encompasses approximately 5 square miles (13 km2). It was formed in 1965 after the merger of three smaller districts serving Dormont, Castle Shannon (except for a portion that is served by the Bethel Park School District), and Green Tree. The district's name refers to a "key" to a door for Dormont, a "stone" in a castle for Castle Shannon and the "oaks" of Green Tree.According to 2000 federal census data, Keystone Oaks School District serves a resident population of 22,580 people. The district operates five schools: Aiken Elementary (K-5 in Green Tree), Dormont Elementary (K-5 in Dormont), Myrtle Elementary (K-5 in Castle Shannon), Keystone Oaks Middle School, and Keystone Oaks High School.

It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. In 2016, under the direction of former school board President Tom Datillo, Seton LaSalle simplified the format of its name, changing the school's name from "Seton-La Salle Catholic High School" to "Seton LaSalle Catholic High School". However, the original format is still displayed prominently in several places, including the front of the building, and the title of this article.
