Ackergill Lifeboat Station is located at Ackergill Harbour, Highland, in the NE corner of Scotland near the town of Wick, in the historic county of Caithness. A lifeboat was first stationed here by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) station in 1877. After 54 years, the station closed in 1932.

Castle Sinclair Girnigoe is located about 3 miles north of Wick on the east coast of Caithness, Scotland. It is considered to be one of the earliest seats of Clan Sinclair. It comprises the ruins of two castles: the 15th-century Castle Girnigoe; and the early 17th-century Castle Sinclair. They are designated as a scheduled monument. Wick John O' Groats Airport (IATA: WIC, ICAO: EGPC) (Scottish Gaelic: Port-adhair Inbhir Ùige Taigh Iain Ghròt) is located one nautical mile (two kilometres) north of the town of Wick, at the north-eastern extremity of the mainland of Scotland. It is owned and maintained by Highlands and Islands Airports Limited. The airport provides commercial air travel connections for Caithness, with scheduled services to Aberdeen Airport and, until early 2020, Edinburgh. It remains regularly used by helicopters servicing local offshore oil operations and the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm. It also serves as a stop-over for light aircraft ferry flights between Europe and North America via Iceland. The airport also operates an out of hours call-out service for air ambulances, coastguard and police flights. The has one usable runway. Two are disused.

Wick (Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Ùige [ˈinivɪɾʲˈuːkʲə]; Scots: Week) is a town and royal burgh in Caithness, in the far north of Scotland. The town straddles the River Wick and extends along both sides of Wick Bay. "Wick Locality" had a population of 6,954 at the time of the 2011 census, a decrease of 3.8% from 2001. Pulteneytown, which was developed on the south side of the river by the British Fisheries Society during the 19th century, was officially merged into the burgh in 1902. Elzy was described as on the coast a couple of miles east of Wick in 1836. The town is on the main road (the A99–A9 road) linking John o' Groats with southern Britain. The Far North railway line links Wick railway station with southern Scotland and with Thurso, the other burgh of Caithness. Wick Airport is on Wick's northern outskirts and serves as a base for private helicopter flights to offshore wind and oil projects, as well as scheduled commercial flights to Aberdeen. The main offices of The John O'Groat Journal and The Caithness Courier are located in Wick, as are Caithness General Hospital (run by NHS Highland), the Wick Carnegie Library and local offices of the Highland Council. Wick Sheriff Court is one of 16 sheriff courts serving the sheriffdom of Grampian, Highland and Islands.

Ackergill Tower (or Ackergill Castle) is located on the coast of Sinclair's Bay, about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north of Wick, Caithness, in northern Scotland. It was built in the early 16th century, and is a Category A listed building. The building is a five-storey oblong tower house. The four-storey wing to the rear was added in the early 18th century. From 2014, Ackergill Tower was operated as an events and wedding venue by AmaZing Venues, before being sold to American philanthropist Dr Betsee Parker in February 2019.

Staxigoe is a former fishing village, located 2 miles east of Wick on the north-eastern coast of the former county of Caithness, Scottish Highlands and is in the Scottish council area of Highland. Its name derives from Norse, "the inlet of the stack". It was once the largest herring salting station in Europe, but its fishing industry went into decline with the construction of a larger port in central Wick.

Sinclairs Bay is a bay on the eastern coast of Caithness, in the Scottish Highlands.

Wick River, known also as River Wick, is a river in Caithness in Highland, Scotland. It has its source at the confluence of Scouthal Burn and Strath Burn near Achingale Mill at the northern end of Bardarclay Moss (grid reference ND 24070 53578) in the Flow Country. The river estuary (ND 36571 50934), is in the North Sea bay of Wick (ND378505) and is straddled by the town of Wick. The source is at a height of about 25 metres, about 11 kilometres west and 2 kilometres north of the estuary. The river basin includes Loch Watten and Loch Tofingall (ND190522) to the west of the estuary, and Loch Hempriggs and the Loch of Yarrows (ND309438) to the south/southwest.

County Offices was a municipal structure at the corner of High Street and Market Place in Wick, Caithness, Scotland. It was built in 1894 as a post office and served as the main offices of Caithness County Council from 1930 onwards. In 1965 the council's offices were expanded to also include an adjoining older terrace called Stafford Place. The County Offices passed to the Highland Council on local government reorganisation. The building was demolished except for Stafford Place in 2013. A new building called Caithness House was built on the site to serve as an area office for the Highland Council, opening in 2015. Stafford Place is a Category B listed building.

Wick Sheriff Court is a judicial structure in Bridge Street, Wick, Caithness, Scotland. The structure, which remains in use as a courthouse, is a Category B listed building.

Noss Head is a headland on the north-west coast of Scotland that overlooks Sinclairs Bay. It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) north-east of Wick in Caithness, in the Highland council area of Scotland. Noss Head was first mentioned in the historical record as early as the 2nd century AD by Greek geographer Ptolemaios as Verubium Promontorium.
