Rhosllanerchrugog

Rhos Aelwyd F.C. is a Welsh football club based in Ponciau. The club are currently members of the Ardal Leagues North East and play at Ponciau Park.

Ponciau is a village within the community of Rhosllanerchrugog, Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is close to the villages of Legacy, Pentre Bychan , and Johnstown and is overlooked by Ruabon Mountain. The village name is also applied to a larger electoral ward, whose population at the 2011 Census was 4,842.

St David's Welsh Church is located on Broad Street, in Rhosllannerchrugog, Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The church was built in 1892 to a design by Douglas and Fordham of Chester. It consists of a nave and a north aisle. It was intended to have a chancel and a steeple at the northeast, but these were not built at the time. The church is constructed in Ruabon brick with some sandstone dressings. The west window is in Perpendicular style and the south porch has timberwork in its gable. Ponkey Crossing Halt railway station served the southern area of Ponciau, a village that lies within the community of Rhosllanerchrugog in Wales. Opened in 1905, it had closed by 1915, partly as a result of WWI and also due to road transport competition. On 1 August 1861, the Great Western Railway had opened a mineral branch from just north of Ruabon to serve the blast furnaces of the iron works at Aberderfyn and Ponciau. The line was extended to Legacy on 27 August 1876.

Stryt Las Park (Welsh: Parc Stryt Las; sometimes spelled Stryd Las) is a park situated between Johnstown and Rhosllanerchrugog, in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is named after Stryt Las (lit. transl. Blue Street), the street which borders the park to its south. The park is situated on a former colliery and landfill site.

Brook Street Halt railway station served the town of Rhosllanerchrugog, Denbighshire, Wales, from 1905 to 1915 on the Pontcysyllte branch.

Rhos (GWR) railway station served the village of Rhosllanerchrugog, Denbighshire, Wales, from 1901 to 1963 on the Pontcysyllte branch.

Pant Halt railway station served the hamlet of Pant-pastynog, Denbighshire, Wales, from 1905 to 1915 on the Pontcysyllte branch.

Penycae Football Club is a Welsh football club based in Pen-y-cae, Wrexham whose first team currently plays in the Ardal Leagues North East. Following on from the growth of the club over recent years, Penycae Football Club is now a registered business and will now operate as Penycae Football Club C.I.C (Community Interest Company) going forward. This ensures that the long-term future of the club is protected and everything that has been built since 1982 is secured for future generations. The club also has a team which acts as a pathway to the first team known as the Reserve team. The club run a number of youth teams for 10- to 15-year-olds, and mini teams for children under 10 years of age.

Johnstown is a village (and former electoral ward) in Wrexham County Borough, Wales, and forms part of the old coal mining community of Rhosllannerchrugog. It is thought to have been named after John Bury, a mid 19th century member of Wrexham's first Town Council, who built a number of houses in the area.The disused coal mine at Hafod is situated to the east of the village and the mine's former coal tip has now been converted to a country park, Bonc yr Hafod. The nearby clay quarry was used as a landfill site for waste from Liverpool. It now takes waste from anywhere after the transfer to Cory's. The village has approximately 4,000 inhabitants, living in 1,300 households which are split into three main areas, the Moreton Estate, Nant Parc and the older part of the village (taken from police figures). The ward population at the 2011 census was 3,266.Johnstown is a located on the historic earth work of Offa's Dyke. There are two schools in Johnstown: Johnstown Infants School and Johnstown Junior School. There are three public houses in Johnstown; the New Inn; the Moreton Inn and the Grapes In April 2012, a planning application was submitted by developers Capital & Centric Plc for a new supermarket on the disused Griflex industrial unit, potentially creating 300 jobs for the area.
