Johnstown, Wrexham

Johnstown & Hafod was a minor station on the Great Western Railway's London to Birkenhead main line. Although the station is gone the railway is still open today as part of the Shrewsbury to Chester Line. The station was situated on the extreme east side of Johnstown and served both there and the adjoining settlement of Rhosllannerchrugog (pron: Ross-thlanner-kri-gog) in Wales.

Rhos railway station was a station in Rhosllannerchrugog, Wrexham, Wales on the Shrewsbury and Chester Railway. It was located in a remote spot almost a mile to the east of Rhosllannerchrugog, to the south of a road overbridge which carried Corkscrew Lane, in Pentre Bychan, over the line. The station was opened on 14 October 1848 and closed in March 1855. No trace of this station remains today.It is not to be confused with another station by the same name which was actually in the village of Rhosllannerchrugog, on the Rhos Branch line from Wrexham through Legacy.

Ponkey Crossing Halt railway station served the southern area of Ponciau, a village that lies within the community of Rhosllanerchrugog in Wales. Opened in 1905, it had closed by 1915, partly as a result of WWI and also due to road transport competition. On 1 August 1861, the Great Western Railway had opened a mineral branch from just north of Ruabon to serve the blast furnaces of the iron works at Aberderfyn and Ponciau. The line was extended to Legacy on 27 August 1876.

Stryt Las Park (Welsh: Parc Stryt Las; sometimes spelled Stryd Las) is a park situated between Johnstown and Rhosllanerchrugog, in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is named after Stryt Las (lit. transl. Blue Street), the street which borders the park to its south. The park is situated on a former colliery and landfill site.

Bonc yr Hafod (Welsh for 'Hafod Bank') is a country park, on the former site of Hafod Colliery, near Johnstown and Pentre Bychan in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The country park is centred on a former spoil tip hill, known locally as "Picnic Mountain" (Welsh: Mynydd Picnic), rising up 150 metres (490 ft). The country park is 90 acres (0.36 km2) in size of mainly woodlands and grasslands. The park is home to one of the largest community woodlands in North East Wales.

Pentre Bychan (Welsh for 'little village') is a semi-rural hamlet in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. Variously spelled as either one word or two (Pentre Bychan or Pentrebychan), it is situated between Rhostyllen and Johnstown in the ward and community of Esclusham, some 4 km south-west of Wrexham city centre.

Ponciau is a village within the community of Rhosllanerchrugog, Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is close to the villages of Legacy, Pentre Bychan , and Johnstown and is overlooked by Ruabon Mountain. The village name is also applied to a larger electoral ward, whose population at the 2011 Census was 4,842.

Rhos Aelwyd F.C. is a Welsh football club based in Ponciau. The club are currently members of the Ardal Leagues North East and play at Ponciau Park.

Rhosllanerchrugog (; standardised and also spelled as Rhosllannerchrugog, [r̥ɔsˌɬanɛrχˈrɨːɡɔɡ] or simply Rhos) is a village and community in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It lies within the historic county of Denbighshire. The entire built-up area including Penycae, Ruabon and Cefn Mawr had a population of 25,362.

Wynnville Halt was a small railway halt located on the Shrewsbury to Chester Line less than a mile north of Ruabon station in Wales. It was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1934, to serve the newly built Wynnville housing estate, as part of its programme of opening halts to combat emerging competition from bus services.
