Picway Power Plant was a 220 megawatt (MW) coal power plant located west of Lockbourne in Pickaway County, Ohio. The plant generated electricity from 1926 until its closure in 2015. It was operated by American Electric Power (AEP).

Robtown is an unincorporated community in Pickaway County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. The area is located approximately five miles west of South Bloomfield, Ohio and three miles northeast of Darbyville, Ohio, on the banks of Grave Run, a tributary of the Scioto River, and at the crossroads of Ohio State Route 316 and Turney Caldwell Road.

The Renick Farm is a historic farmstead located along U.S. Route 23 near the village of South Bloomfield in northern Pickaway County, Ohio, United States. Composed of six buildings dating back to 1830, the farmstead has been designated a historic site because of its unusually well-preserved architecture.Farmer Edward Williams bought the land now occupied by the farm in 1820 and soon erected part of the present farmhouse. He owned the property until 1850, when he sold it to Joseph Renick, a member of a prominent Pickaway County family. Soon after taking possession, Renick expanded the house greatly; it reached twice its original size. Its brick walls rest on a stone foundation and are covered with a tin roof. Among its most distinctive architectural elements are two spiral staircases, an ornate cornice with distinctive brackets, and a prominent entryway. Together, these elements combine to form a mix of the Greek Revival and Italianate architectural styles.Except for the period between 1918 and 1977, the farm has remained in Renick family ownership since 1850. It has been remarkably well preserved since its construction, being seen by architectural historians as one of Pickaway County's best examples of rural nineteenth-century architecture. Because of its distinctive architecture, the farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982; the landmarked area includes the farmhouse and five other buildings spread out over an area of 4 acres (1.6 ha).The main farmhouse was torn down on October 11, 2016.

The Samuel Landes House is a historic house in Columbus, Ohio, United States. The house was built c. 1848 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The house is significant as a vernacular farmhouse. It was built for Samuel Landes, a prominent farmer in the area, and remained in his family until 1875.

Scioto Grove Metro Park is a metropolitan park in Grove City, Ohio, owned and operated by Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks. Scioto Grove features eight trails and five backpacking campsites. It has picnic shelters, an event space, traditional and 3-D archery ranges, and a disc golf course. The park opened to the public on May 6, 2016.In 2022, Metro Parks began the process of relocating the 90- to 100-foot Keystone Fire Lookout Tower in Jackson County, Ohio to Scioto Grove.

The Pickaway Correctional Institution is a state prison located in Scioto Township, Pickaway County, just outside Orient, Ohio, United States which mostly houses minimum and medium security inmates. PCI was opened as a prison in 1984 after the buildings which formerly housed a facility for Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities had been closed. Although the structures were not built to house prisoners, Warden James Jackson modified the condemned buildings into secure housing for inmates. The prison houses 2107 inmates and 511 staff members (out of which 249 are the security staff). Inmates have an opportunity to take classes at Sinclair Community College or learn the printing trade at the OPI Print Shop. In 2000, former Ohio First Lady Hope Taft approached the Warden about establishing a reading room for the children who visited their incarcerated parents. The reading room opened within a few years and includes an inmate narrator who reads to the visiting children twice a day.As of August 2022 the warden is Rochelle Moore. The most notorious inmates of this prison were Posteal Laskey Jr., the Cincinnati Strangler, until his death by natural causes on May 29, 2007. In 2017, the prison made headlines, as 4 inmates overdosed on opioids in a 2-day period.In 2020, the prison again made national headlines as the second largest hotspot of diagnosed COVID-19 cases in the US.

The Correctional Reception Center is a state prison for men located in Orient, Pickaway County, Ohio, opened in 1987, owned and operated by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.The facility holds a maximum of 1500 inmates at various security levels. The prison is immediately adjacent to the state's Pickaway Correctional Institution. Ariel Castro committed suicide while incarcerated at the facility in September 2013.
