Graeter's is a regional ice cream chain based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 1870 by Louis C. Graeter, the company has since expanded to 50 retail locations selling ice cream, candy and baked goods in the Midwestern United States. It further distributes its ice cream to 6,000 stores throughout the country. As of 2017, the company had 1,050 employees and $60 million in revenue.Graeter, the son of German immigrants, opened the first ice cream shop for the business in 1870 in Cincinnati's Pendleton neighborhood which quickly gained a following. Growing with the advent of the premium ice cream market in the decades after, the company has been managed by four successive generations of the Graeter family, expanding its retail shops to Columbus, Louisville, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and other cities. Deals with major supermarket chains including Kroger have brought Graeter's Ice Cream to more than 6,200 grocery stores nationwide as well. The ice cream maker is known for its "French pot" process that produces denser than average ice cream. Its national recognition for this ice cream grew over time, in particular after Oprah Winfrey declared it the best ice cream she had ever tasted in 2002. Since then, a number of celebrities and media publications have commented on the ice cream brand's quality.

Elmwood Place is a village in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,188 at the 2010 census. Except for a small portion which touches neighboring St. Bernard, Elmwood Place is nearly surrounded by the city of Cincinnati.

The Hamilton County Fair, formerly known as the Carthage Fair, is the county fair of Hamilton County, Ohio. It was held annually by the Hamilton County Agricultural Society at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds in Cincinnati's Carthage neighborhood. It is the oldest county fair in Ohio, first held in 1820 on the Ezekiel Hutchinson farm and beginning in 1855 at the Fairgrounds location. It was the first fair west of the Allegheny Mountains to offer cash awards in livestock competitions. The fair was canceled in 1861 and 1862 due to the American Civil War,in 1917-18 and 1942-44 due to World Wars; in 2018 due to rain and flash flooding, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic,besides 2021-22 until Fall 2023 for multiple reasons, " ... limited availability of vendors, volunteers, and public sanitation and safety equipment, coupled with vendors’ ongoing concerns for public health ...", but was then cancelled due to Hurricane Ian. In the 1970s, the racetrack had to be relocated to make room for Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway's West Side extension. The 2023 fair will be held at a new location on McDonald Farm in Sale Creek.Cincinnati Police and Hamilton County, OH Sheriff's Office, besides security guards, are the fair's patrollers.

Hartwell is one of the 52 neighborhoods of Cincinnati, Ohio. Established in 1868 and annexed in 1912, it is the city's northernmost neighborhood, centered roughly on the intersections of I-75 and Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway. Its boundaries are a combination of Caldwell Park and Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway to the south, I-75 to the east, and a combination of Millsdale Street and Compton Road to the North. The population was 5,806 at the 2020 census.

The Horizon Science Academy of Cincinnati is a public K-8 charter school that provides its students with an education emphasizing math, science, and technology HSAC is managed by Concept Schools a not-for-profit charter management organization that manages charter schools in the Midwest. The school opened in April 2005, in the former building of South East Ohio College at 1055 Laidlaw Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio, with authorization from the Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West. In the 2012–13 school year, it enrolled 500 students with a student/teacher ratio of 11/1 In June 2014, the school was raided by the FBI for evidence related to Concept Schools' alleged improper relationships with technology vendors.

Swifton Center was a shopping mall in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Opened in 1956 as the first mall in the Cincinnati area, it was initially an open-air complex featuring Rollman & Sons department store as the sole anchor store. This store was converted to Mabley & Carew in 1960, and again to Elder-Beerman in 1978. Other major tenants included Kroger, Liberal Market, G. C. Murphy, and S. S. Kresge. The mall had undergone a severe decline in tenancy by the early 1980s, resulting from the relocation of Kroger and deferred maintenance of the property. In 1985, Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation purchased the mall and renovated it as Swifton Commons. As part of this renovation, the mall gained a number of outlet stores. Despite initial success, the renovated mall underwent another severe decline in tenancy by the mid-1990s due to the bankruptcy of key tenants such as Elder-Beerman. Allen Temple AME Church bought the mall and renamed it to Jordan Crossing, with the intent of replacing many of the inline tenants with offices. This was unsuccessful, and by 2013, the mall was demolished except for offices in the former location of Elder-Beerman.

The Allen Temple AME Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, US, is the mother church of the Third Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Founded in 1824, it is the oldest operating black church in Cincinnati and the largest church of the Third Episcopal District of the AME Church.

Saint Xavier High School ( ZAY-vyər; often abbreviated St. X) is a private, college-preparatory high school just outside the Cincinnati city limits, in the Finneytown neighborhood of Springfield Township, Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The independent, non-diocesan school is operated by the Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus as one of four all-male Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Aside from colleges and universities, St. Xavier is the second-largest private school in Ohio and one of the 100 largest schools in the state, with 1,366 enrolled students as of the 2022–23 school year.St. Xavier is the oldest high school in the Cincinnati area and one of the oldest in the nation. It grew out of the Athenaeum, which opened in 1831 in downtown Cincinnati. From 1869 to 1934, the high school program formed the lower division of St. Xavier College, now Xavier University. The high school moved to its present location in 1960. The Bombers football team and Aquabombers swimming and diving team have a national profile, appearing frequently at state championships and in national rankings. Graduates of St. Xavier include numerous professional athletes, three Olympians, prominent state and national politicians, influential businessmen, and noted authors and actors.

Finneytown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Springfield Township, Hamilton County, in southwest Ohio, United States, just north of Cincinnati. The population was 12,399 at the 2020 census. Finneytown is home to the largest private school in Ohio (St. Xavier High School) and the Cincinnati area's annual Greek Festival (at Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church).Finneytown is named for Ebenezer Ward Finney, a Revolutionary War soldier whose burial site is located just south of the current township. The land was originally purchased from John Cleves Symmes by Rev. Ebenezer Ward, and given to his grandson Ebenezer Ward Finney.
