The Michael Braun House (also known as the Old Stone House) is a historic Colonial stone house located near Granite Quarry, Rowan County, North Carolina, United States. It is the oldest known dwelling in Rowan County and one of the oldest in Piedmont North Carolina.

Granite Quarry School, also known as Schuford Memorial Elementary School and Granite Quarry Elementary School, is a historic school complex located at Granite Quarry, Rowan County, North Carolina. The main school building was built in 1933, and is a one-story, H-shaped building sheathed in granite. It has a side-gable roof with shed dormers and a pedimented entrance portico. Connected to the main building by open, covered walkways are the cafeteria (1956) designed by Leslie Boney and a classroom building (1960). It was originally built for African-American students and continued to operate until 1968 when its students were integrated into other county schools.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Faith is a town in Rowan County, North Carolina, United States, incorporated in 1903. The population was 807 at the 2010 census. Since 1946, the town has hosted a Fourth of July celebration that has become notably large for a town of its population – running for several days and drawing visitors from many states. The Faith Fourth achieved national visibility in 1992, when President George H. W. Bush not only made a speech praising small town virtues, but also participated in the traditional Fourth of July softball game.

Old Stone Winery is a family-owned winery estate located outside of Salisbury, NC. Sited on 130 acres (0.53 km2) of land, and with more than 20 acres (0.081 km2) of vineyard, it was founded in 2001 by Mark Brown and Stefon Lira, Barbara and Marcus Brown.

East Rowan High School is a public, co-educational secondary school located in Granite Quarry, North Carolina. It is one of seven high schools in the Rowan-Salisbury School System.

North Carolina's 12th congressional district is a congressional district located in the northern and eastern portions of Charlotte as well as surrounding areas in Mecklenburg County and Cabarrus County represented by Democrat Alma Adams. Prior to the 2016 elections, it was a gerrymandered district located in central North Carolina that comprised portions of Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Lexington, Salisbury, Concord, and High Point.It was one of two minority-majority Congressional districts created in the state in the 1990s. Between 2003 and 2013, there was a small plurality of white Americans in the district according to the 2000 United States census, although African Americans made up a comparable proportion of the voting population. As redrawn for the 2012 elections and under the lines used prior to the 2016 elections, the district had an African-American majority according to the 2010 United States census. The 12th district is the most Democratic district in North Carolina, and it has never been represented by a Republican. North Carolina had a twelfth seat in the House in the early nineteenth century (1803–1843) and in the mid-twentieth century (1943–1963). Most of the territory in the district's second incarnation is now in the 11th district.

Lyerly Building for Boys, also known as Nazareth Orphans' Home, Nazareth Children's Home or Nazareth Child & Family Connection, is a historic orphanage located at Gold Hill Township, Rowan County, North Carolina. It was built between 1913 and 1916, and is a two-story, front gabled, vernacular Gothic Revival style granite building. It has a steeply pitched parapeted slate roof. The building housed a school and chapel on the first floor with a boy's dormitory above.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Salisbury National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located in the city of Salisbury, in Rowan County, North Carolina. It was established at the site of burials of Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War while held at a Confederate prisoner of war camp at the site. Now administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, it encompasses 65 acres (26 ha), 15 acres (6.1 ha) in the original location and 50 acres (20 ha) at an annex. More than 30 acres were added to the annex in 2020 as a result of a donation by the YMCA.As of 2012 the cemetery had 6500 interments (in 6000 standard graves, many of which also hold a spouse), plus an estimated 3,800 in 18 mass graves at the original location. There are 5000 interments, in 4500 graves, in the new location. As of 2020 a total of 26,000 veterans and family members were buried in both locations.

Napoleon Bonaparte McCanless House is a historic home located at Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina. It is a three-story, three bay by four bay, Second Empire style dwelling faced with rusticated granite. It has a rounded corner tower and a steep, concave, mansard roof sheathed in decorative slate shingles. Also on the property is a one-story, granite-veneered brick outbuilding believed to have been the kitchen.Napoleon B. McCanless served as president of the Halifax Cotton Mill Company, and held interests in agriculture, manufacturing, and mining. His home was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. Some projects he was involved with include Vance Cotton Mill, Kesler Cotton Mill, North Side Cotton Mill, the Doggin (or Coggin) Mines Co., Yadkin Finishing Co. and Harris Granite Co. In the area of banking, Salisbury Savings Bank, Peoples National Bank (later Security Bank and Trust). He was also involved with the Washington Building, Central Hotel and the Empire Hotel. In June 2019, Historic Salisbury Foundation purchased the house for $160,000 from Livingstone College, which had once planned to use the house for a culinary school later housed at a former Holiday Inn. It was one of four remaining significant houses on South Main Street. While the house had been restored for a restaurant, it was in bad shape and cleanup work would take place before another restoration.In January 2021, Historic Salisbury Foundation, Inc. entered into a three-year partnership with The Ghost Guild, Inc. to explore reports of unexplained activity in and around the property. The Ghost Guild, Inc. is a registered nonprofit organization that investigates the Napoleon Bonaparte McCanless House several times per year and present its findings as part of Historic Salisbury Foundation annual October Tour.

Calvin H. Wiley School, also known as the West Ward School, is a historic school building located at Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina. The original building was built in 1916–1918, and is a two-story, rectangular brick building with Classical Revival style design elements. A classroom addition was built in 1921 and an auditorium and lunchroom added in 1951. The school closed in 1983, and was subsequently renovated into apartments.The school was named for Calvin H. Wiley, the first Superintendent of Public Instruction. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
