Kenyon Building

The Humana Building, also known as the Humana Tower, is a 1985 skyscraper in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, located at 500 West Main Street and headquarters of the Humana Corporation. It was built by The Auchter Company.

PNC Tower is a skyscraper in Downtown Louisville, Kentucky, and located at 101 South Fifth Street. It was completed in 1972 and was originally named First National Tower.

The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts in Louisville, Kentucky, which opened in 1983, is owned by Kentucky Performing Arts and has tenants that include Kentucky Opera, Louisville Ballet, the Louisville Orchestra, StageOne Family Theatre and Broadway Across America. Sculptural artwork at the site is by Alexander Calder, Joan Miró, John Chamberlain, Jean Dubuffet and others.The center was dedicated on November 19, 1983. Attendees included Charlton Heston, Diane Sawyer and Lily Tomlin. In 1984 the center hosted one of the U.S. presidential election debates between Ronald Reagan and Walter Mondale.Other artists and celebrities to have used the center's stages in the past include: Ray Charles, Jessye Norman, Tony Bennett, the Joffrey Ballet, Kathleen Battle, Jim Carrey, Isaac Stern, Mstislav Rostropovich, Gregory Peck, James Taylor, President Bill Clinton, Elie Wiesel, Philip Glass, Marilyn Horne, Jerry Lewis, the Bolshoi Ballet, Wynton Marsalis, the Paul Taylor Dance Company, Bill Cosby, President George W. Bush, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Leontyne Price, Adam Lambert, William F. Buckley, Dan Howell, Big Twist Nolan, Phil Lester, and Itzhak Perlman.

The German Bank Building, known also as Louisville Home Federal Building, is a historic building in Downtown Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It is located on the corner of Fifth and Market streets. The two-story structure was built in 1914 in a Beaux-Arts style with a limestone facade. In 1918, the name of the building was changed to Louisville National Bank. This was during World War I when many institutions changed names to avoid association with Germany.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, for its architecture.

The Jefferson County Courthouse Annex in Louisville, Kentucky was designed by Kenneth McDonald Sr. and built in 1900. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It is a four-story steel construction building with a brick veneer, joined to the Greek Revival Jefferson County Courthouse building by a bridge on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors, over a narrow street.It was designed by architect Kenneth McDonald Sr. It was described in its NRHP nomination as "stylistically a handsome complement" to the Jefferson County Courthouse.The Jefferson County Courthouse was previously listed, in 1972.

The Columbia Building, originally named the Commerce Building, was Louisville, Kentucky's second skyscraper, designed by Cornelius Curtin and completed in 1890 at a cost of $1 million. It was located at the northwest corner of Fourth and Main streets and built of pressed red brick in the Romanesque Revival style. It was built just five years after the world's first skyscraper, the Home Insurance Building in Chicago. It had 10 stories and a height of 162 feet.The Columbia was first called the Commercial Club Building, and was the tallest building in Louisville for over a decade. It was demolished in 1966 as a part of a downtown redevelopment plan, and a 24-story highrise, now called the BB&T Building, was built on the site in 1972.

Riverfront Plaza/Belvedere is a public area on the Ohio River in Downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Although proposed as early as 1930, the project did not get off the ground until $13.5 million in funding was secured in 1969 to revitalize the downtown area (through which Interstate 64 had just been built). On April 27, 1973, the Riverfront Plaza/Belvedere was dedicated. Running between Third and Sixth streets, it consisted of a large parking garage and the interstate, and a grassy 7-acre (28,000 m2) park built atop. The grassy park section on the western end was the Belvedere, and the Riverfront Plaza to the east included other attractions: fountains, shelters and an ice-skating rink, as well as buildings such as the Galt House, One Riverfront Plaza and the American Life Building. The Galt House, as well as The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, are incorporated into the plaza with walkway access. It includes a glass elevator with access to three levels of the structure. After several lawsuits alleging that corrosive materials had damaged cars in the parking garage, a $3.8 million renovation began in 1996. The above-ground portions were renovated in 1998 to provide a wider walkway to Fifth Street, as well as less visible concrete and a concert stage. The Belvedere is adjacent to Louisville Waterfront Park, which opened in the late 1990s, with stairs and an elevator leading down to the wharf between the two. The plaza is the east terminus of the Louisville Riverwalk.

The Louisville Metro Hall is the center of Louisville, Kentucky's government. It currently houses the Mayor's Office and the Jefferson County Clerk's Office for marriage licensing, delinquent tax filings, and the deeds room. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Construction began in 1837, and both the City of Louisville and Jefferson County governments starting using it in 1842.

400 West Market is a skyscraper in Downtown Louisville, Kentucky. The 35-story, 549-foot (167 m) high structure was designed by architect John Burgee with Philip Johnson. It was Kentucky's tallest building when built for $100 million in 1991. Its groundbreaking ceremony occurred in July 1991 with initial occupancy in October 1992 and final occupancy in April 1993. Originally called Capital Holding Building and later, Capital Holding Center, the structure was later renamed Providian Center (for Providian Financial Corporation) then Aegon Center (for the Dutch financial company Aegon) as the business was renamed and sold. Aegon left the building in 2010, and the building was renamed 400 West Market in 2014.Currently the tallest building in the state of Kentucky, the building is constructed of reinforced concrete, as opposed to the steel construction usual for buildings of its height. A distinctive feature of the building is the 80-foot (24 m) high Romanesque dome which reflects the building's original name of Capital Holding that is illuminated from the interior at night. The upper floors of the building are also illuminated at night. 400 West Market's lighting is changed from the usual white to a combination of red and green from Thanksgiving Day until New Year's Day.The skyscraper has 633,650 square feet (58,868 m2) of leaseable space for office and 18,787 square feet (1,745 m2) for retail.The original owner of 400 West Market was a limited partnership which consisted of Hines Interest, as a general partner, and Japanese limited partners. In April, 2004, David Werner's investment group purchased the building.There is a statue in the plaza of 400 West Market of Alysheba, winner of the 1987 Kentucky Derby and a 1993 U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee.

The Muhammad Ali Center is a non-profit museum and cultural center dedicated to boxer Muhammad Ali in Louisville, Kentucky. Ali, a native of Louisville, and his wife Lonnie Ali founded the museum in 2005.The six-story, 96,750 sq ft (8,988 m2) museum is located in the city's West Main District. It opened on November 19, 2005, at a cost of $80 million. It also includes a 40,000 sq ft (3,700 m2) two-level amphitheater and a plaza. On April 4, 2013, a new pedestrian bridge opened, helping residents and visitors connect from the Muhammad Ali Center's plaza to the Belvedere, the Waterfront, and other downtown attractions. The 170-foot-long walkway is nine feet wide, with exterior metal panels that complement the Ali Center plaza's design.

The Galt House Hotel is a 25-story, 1,300-room hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, established in 1972. It is named for a nearby historic hotel erected in 1835 and demolished in 1921. The Galt House is the city's only hotel on the Ohio River.

The Kentucky Medal of Honor Memorial is a statue in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, honoring all recipients of the Medal of Honor from the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Located at the corner of Fifth and Jefferson Streets on the grounds of the old Jefferson County Courthouse, the Memorial was sculpted by Doyle Glass and dedicated on Veterans Day 2001. The Memorial features a life-size bronze statue of Medal of Honor recipient John C. Squires as he would appear on the night he earned the Medal of Honor. Squires, a native of Louisville, was killed in action in Italy during World War II. The statue of Squires stands on a 4-foot-high (1.2 m) granite base. A plaque on the base lists the names of each recipient of the Medal of Honor from Kentucky.
