Biltmore Park Town Square is an upscale new urbanist shopping center opened in mid-2009 in Asheville, North Carolina with its anchors being REI, Regal Cinemas, Barnes & Noble, with many other small shops. It was built as an outdoor "Town Center" with store fronts on the outside. Although the center opened in 2009, the YMCA and some stores began opening as early as 2005. They are still found in this center. Stores like LOFT, Orvis, and Bette can be found here along with a large hotel onsite, the Hilton. Many restaurants are in the center, including P.F. Changs, Which Wich, Luella's Bar-B-Que, Roux, Brixx Pizza, 131 Main, Hickory Tavern, Coldstone Creamery, and Nine Mile. Neighborhoods were developed around the center.

Bent Creek is a tributary of the French Broad River in Buncombe County, North Carolina. It was dammed to create Lake Powhatan, a reservoir for recreation just south of Asheville. The headwaters of Bent Creek rise near the Bent Creek Gap in southern Buncombe County. T.C. Roberson High School is a high school in the Buncombe County Schools System in Asheville, North Carolina. It is located at 250 Overlook Road, Asheville, NC 28803. TC Roberson High School was founded when Valley Springs High School and Biltmore High School were combined to form one high school. It is named for Thomas Crawford Roberson, a former Superintendent of Buncombe County Schools and the architect of the consolidation of 21 county high schools into the 6 county high schools that exist today. Its school newspaper is the Golden Fleece. It has two feeder schools – Valley Springs Middle School and half of the students at Cane Creek Middle School. T.C. Roberson is located right by W.W. Estes Elementary School, Valley Springs Middle School, as well as Charles T. Koontz Intermediate School, making it a convenient location for both parents and students. Roberson is also home to the Progressive Education Program (PEP) which is a program dedicated to students with both mental and physical disabilities. The North Carolina Arboretum (434 acres (176 ha)) is an arboretum and botanical garden located within the Bent Creek Experimental Forest of the Pisgah National Forest at 100 Frederick Law Olmsted Way, southwest of Asheville, North Carolina near the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is open daily except for Christmas Day. There is no admission charge, but some parking fees do apply. Although the idea for the arboretum stretches back to landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted in 1898, who wished to create an arboretum at the nearby Biltmore Estate, today's arboretum was established by the General Assembly in 1986, as a facility of the University of North Carolina. In 1989 the site was officially designated the North Carolina Arboretum. The arboretum is still under active development. It includes many hiking and bicycling trails, a bonsai collection, a holly garden, and a stream garden. Its tree collection includes a fine set of Metasequoias planted in 1950, and now said to be the tallest in the south (over 100 feet (30 m) in height). In 2016, a certification from Bee Campus USA recognized the arboretum's efforts to teach about and support pollinators.

Arden is considered to be approximately the area between Skyland and Fletcher near the Henderson County line. Arden's ZIP code is 28704. Its post office serves Royal Pines and Avery Creek census designated places to the east and the area to the west of the post office. Arden is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was named for the Forest of Arden noted in the comedy, As You Like It, by Shakespeare. It was founded by author Charles Willing Beale in 1872.Arden is home to Glen Arden Elementary school, located at 50 Pinehurst Circle as well as to Christ School, a private Episcopal school for boys. Arden is also home to Lutheridge, a Lutheran Camp and Conference Center affiliated with the ELCA.

Blake House, also known as Newington, Royal Pines, and Joseph B. Pyatt House, is a historic home located at Arden, Buncombe County, North Carolina. It was built about 1850, and is a two-story, double pile stone house in the Gothic Revival style. The main block is five bays wide and has a hipped roof. The center hall plan interior features Greek Revival-influenced interior finishes. A rear ell was added in 1907.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

The property includes agricultural outbuildings, agricultural fields and secondary structure, a total of 12 contributing buildings and one other contributing site. They include Rugby Lodge II, the "Big House", the Cottage, the Shanty, Uncle Martin's and Uncle Billy's cabins, the ice house, and several barns.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.The house was the one-time home of a Swedish diplomat named George Westfeldt. He bought the property before the Civil War and named it in honor of Rugby School, an English public school.
