Anchorsholme

Victoria Road is a major thoroughfare in Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, England. Originally known as Ramper Road, it runs for about 2 miles (3.2 km) from Station Road (at its junction with Balmoral Place) in Thornton, in the east, to South Promenade in Cleveleys, in the west. Its addresses are denoted as "Victoria Road East" or "Victoria Road East", the split occurring at the Amounderness Way roundabout carrying traffic of the A585 between Poulton-le-Fylde and Fleetwood. The road picks up the B5412 designation from Station Road until The Crescent and Brighton Avenue (the A587) in Cleveleys. Blackpool Tramway crosses Victoria Road West at the junction of Rossall Road, The Crescent and Brighton Avenue in Cleveleys. The westernmost section of Victoria Road, in Cleveleys, is known for its plethora of cafes. This section is often called the "jewel in Wyre's crown", although Victoria Road West received widespread support for road-safety improvements in 2023.

The A587 is a road in England that runs from Blackpool to Fleetwood in Lancashire. The road runs a total distance of approximately 9.5 miles (15.3 km), largely on residential and commercial streets. It begins close to the Oxford junction in Marton, in the south-eastern part of Blackpool (53.8043°N 3.0246°W / 53.8043; -3.0246 (A587 road (southern end))), as a turning off the A583, Preston New Road. It continues north, as South Park Drive and later East Park Drive, past Stanley Park and Blackpool Victoria Hospital for about 1.5 miles (2.4 km), until the Four Lane Ends roundabout. At this point, as St Walburga's Road, it continues north, and later becomes dual carriageway for 0.7 miles (1.1 km) which forms a border between the suburbs of Layton and Grange Park. After the Plymouth Road roundabout, it crosses the railway close to Layton station, and continues north as Bispham Road for a further 1.4 miles (2.3 km), passing through the Warbreck area before reaching Bispham roundabout. From Bispham it then continues north, as Devonshire Road and later Fleetwood Road, for a further 1.3 miles (2.1 km) through the north Blackpool suburbs of Norbreck and Little Bispham before it is joined at Anchorsholme by the A584 Queen's Promenade. The A587 then heads north for 0.5 miles (0.80 km) as a dual carriageway, named Fleetwood Road and Kelso Avenue for north and southbound traffic respectively, with the tram tracks dividing the road until entering the town of Cleveleys, and the Wyre District. Past Cleveleys, as a single lane road, now known as Rossall Road, it continues north for a further 1.5 miles (2.4 km), past Rossall School in a short 40mph section, and into Fleetwood, where it becomes Broadway. The road crosses West View roundabout, and turns right down Poulton Road, eventually terminating at the new Ash Street roundabout, near Fleetwood Freeport (53.9193°N 3.0142°W / 53.9193; -3.0142 (A587 road (northern end))), where it joins to the A585.

Thornton-Cleveleys is a conurbation consisting of the village of Thornton and the town of Cleveleys. The two settlements formed a joint urban district from 1927 until 1974, before becoming part of Wyre. The two settlements constitute part of the Blackpool Urban Area.

Marsh Farmhouse is an historic building in Thornton-Cleveleys, Lancashire, England. Built in 1803, it is a Grade II listed building. It is located to the southeast of today's Amounderness Way roundabout at Victoria Road West (known as Ramper Road at the time).The farmhouse is in brick with stone dressings, partly rendered, with a concrete tiled roof. It has two storeys and a symmetrical two-bay front. The central doorway has a semicircular relieving brick arch with stone imposts and a keystone inscribed with the name "B. F. Hesketh Esq 1803", referring to Bold Fleetwood Hesketh, son of Fleetwood Hesketh and Frances Bold. The windows are sashes.Hesketh died in 1819, aged 57, and was buried in the churchyard of St Chad's Church, Poulton-le-Fylde, alongside his parents.

It is the third church on the site and was built in 1883.Until 1821 the parish church of Bispham was the only place of worship in Blackpool.

Cleveleys is a town on the Fylde Coast of Lancashire, England, about 4 miles (6 km) north of Blackpool and 2 miles (3 km) south of Fleetwood. It is part of the Borough of Wyre. With its neighbouring settlement of Thornton, Cleveleys was part of the former urban district of Thornton-Cleveleys and is part of the Blackpool Urban Area. In 2011 the Cleveleys Built-up area sub division had a population of 10,754.

Marsh Mill is an 18th-century tower windmill in Thornton, Lancashire, England. It was built in 1794 by Ralph Slater for local landowner Bold Hesketh. It functioned as a corn mill until the 1920s and has been fully restored. It is a good example of a complete English windmill and has been designated a Grade II* listed building.

Children's Corner, also known as Kiddie's Corner, was a small amusement park located in Cleveleys, Lancashire, England. It stood at the western end of Victoria Road, on Cleveleys Promenade, between 1961 and 2004. The park opened in 1961 on land known as The Arena. It was originally owned by the council, but Albert Mason Sr., owner of nearby Olympia Family Amusements, purchased a lease to run it in late 1960; it opened the following year.Its two most popular attractions were the "Alpine Glide" helter skelter and the "Monte Carlo Rally" classic-car ride, which featured electronically driven cars on a track, allowing children to believe they were driving them.In 2001, a new ride called the Jumping Star was opened.After its closure in 2004, the park was demolished as part of work on the town's sea defences. A concrete seating arena now occupies the location.
