Firgas

Moya is a town and a municipality in the northern part of the island of Gran Canaria in the Province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. Its population is 7,977 (2013), and the area is 31.87 km².The town Moya is situated in the mountains, 4 km from the coast and 15 km west of Las Palmas. The GC-2 motorway passes through the northern part of the municipality.

The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria is a church and parish of Moya, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. The present church was built on the edge of its barranco, completed in 1957.

Arucas is a municipality in the northern part of the island of Gran Canaria, province of Las Palmas, Canary Islands. Arucas is 9 km (5.6 mi) west of Las Palmas city. Its population is 36,852 (2013), and the area is 33.01 km2 (12.75 sq mi). The GC-2 motorway passes north of the town.

The Church of San Juan Bautista or Arucas Church, is a Catholic church located in the old town of Arucas, in Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. Construction began on 19 March 1909, and took over 68 years. The church was opened for public worship in 1917, but the construction continued until 1977, when the church was completed. Due to the large dimensions, it is usually referred to as The Arucas Cathedral even though it is not a cathedral.

The Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pino is a Catholic church and parish in Teror, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. The present building in neoclassical style was built from 1760 to 1767. It is dedicated to the Virgen del Pino.

Teror is a town and a municipality in the northern part of the island of Gran Canaria in the Province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. Its population is 12,671 (2013), and the town area is 25.70 km2. Teror is situated in the mountains, 14 km southwest of Las Palmas city. September 8 is the local festivity celebrating Virgen del Pino (virgin of the pine, patron of the Gran Canaria).Teror has a well preserved old town centre, which is under monument protection. There is a basilica, the quiet Virgin of the Pine Square in front of it, and neatly fronted buildings along the picturesque Calle Real de la Plaza street. After shepherds witnessed a Marian apparition nearby on 8 September 1481, Teror became the most important pilgrimage destination of Gran Canaria, and, as a result, rather prosperous. White houses with wooden balconies, where many of the island’s older families congregated, are typical of the town. Mineral water is an important product of Teror. There's a weekly market (mercadillo) on Sundays.

Valerón's "monastery" (in Spanish cenobio de Valerón) is an archaeological site on the Spanish island of Grand Canary, in the municipality of Santa Maria de Guia, on Valerón's cliff. It is the largest pre-Hispanic collective granary built before Roman times and used by the island's inhabitants until the conquest of the island at the end of the 15th century. Close to Gáldar Painted cave, it is one of the emblematic sites of Grand Canary and is listed as a Spanish Property of cultural interest.

Valleseco is a town and a municipality of Las Palmas province, on the Canary Islands. It is in the northcentral part of Gran Canaria. Valleseco means "dry valley" in Spanish, but is actually one of the wettest municipalities of the island. Its population is 3,904 (2013), and the area is 22.11 km². The elevation is 1,000 m. The town Valleseco is situated 3 km southwest of Teror and 17 km southwest of the city of Las Palmas. Its landscape is characterized by deep valleys and ravines and a great vegetal richness that has resulted in more than 80% of the territory being protected by Nature Reserves. Valleseco, at 1000 m. above sea level, often seems to be enveloped in a "sea of clouds". This helps to make the landscape very lush. Here, the trade winds deposit its precipitations, which, according to a local saying, "seem not to wet but soak", a type of wealth in the form of rain so appreciated by the country person, who thus sees his effort rewarded with productive crops of potatoes, corn and fruits.

Santa María de Guía de Gran Canaria is a town and a municipality in Las Palmas province of the Canary Islands. It is located on the north side of Gran Canaria island. Its population is 13,811 (2013), and the area is 42.59 km2 (16.44 sq mi).The town Santa María de Guía is situated in a valley 2 km (1 mi) from the coast, 19 km (12 mi) west of Las Palmas. The municipality stretches from the coast into the mountainous interior of the island. The GC-2 motorway passes north of the town.

Casas de los Sánchez-Ochando (English: Sánchez-Ochando's houses) are a group of houses in the municipality of Santa María de Guía de Gran Canaria. They exemplify vernacular architecture, the traditional domestic architectural style of the "well-to-do class" of the Canary Islands. Two specimens remain.

The Quintana House is an example of the ancient architecture of the municipality of Guia de Gran Canaria in the Canarian island of Gran Canaria, located in the Plaza Mayor de Guía; its buildings date from the 16th century. The Canarian balcony is of Mudejar style, in wood and coat of arms with the surnames Guanarteme and Quintana.

Gáldar is a town and a Spanish municipality in the north of the island of Gran Canaria in the Province of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. Its population is 24,227 (2013), and the area is 61.59 km2 (23.78 sq mi).The town Gáldar is situated at the foot of the mountains, 2 km from the coast and 21 km (13 mi) west of Las Palmas. The GC-2 motorway passes south of the town. The municipality includes the settlements Puerto de Sardina, San Isidro, Los Quintanas, Barrial and Marmolejos. The main church is dedicated to Saint James. It holds the Painted cave, a major archaeological site consisting of a remarkable painted cave and an entire pre-Hispanic village visited yearly by over 50,000 people.
