It contains a large, dense collection of largely unchanged structures from about 1750 to the 1930s. It includes a simple 18th and 19th century settlement period house, a large representative mixture of mid- to late-19th century residential design, a small Main Street commercial district, and architecturally distinctive churches and institutional buildings.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Brecknock Hall is a historic home located at Stirling in Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1857 and is a 2+1⁄2-story, square cut ashlar stone residence in the Italianate style. The central projecting gable has a one-room sized cupola centrally located on the roof. Also on the property is a 19th-century barn, a small early 20th-century greenhouse, and an early 20th-century caretaker's house.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Union Chapel is a historic Methodist chapel located in Shelter Island Heights, Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1875 and is a wood-frame structure with wood-shingle sheathing. The chapel's main three-bay facade has a 2+1⁄2-story bell tower with a double-door center entrance at its base; a small porch shelters the entry. It is the most important extant structure associated with the Shelter Island Heights Grove and Camp Meeting Association, a Methodist camp established in 1872.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The club was established in 1901 and consists of a nine-hole golf course, club house, driving range, and maintenance facility. The club house is a two-story Colonial Revival-style wood-frame building with a side-gabled gambrel roof with five dormer windows on both the east and west elevations. It features a full-length front porch on the east and north sides.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
