Baishuei River

The Baihe Reservoir (traditional Chinese: 白河水庫; simplified Chinese: 白河水库; pinyin: Báihé Shuǐkù) is a reservoir in Baihe District, Tainan, Taiwan.

Baihe District (Chinese: 白河區; pinyin: Báihé Qū; Wade–Giles: Pai2-ho2 Ch'ü1; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Pe̍h-hô-khu) is a district located in Tainan, Taiwan. It is known for its hot springs and lotus farming. The town borders Chiayi County to the north and east, Dongshan District to the south, and Houbi District to the west. Some indigenous Siraya people live here, although their lifestyles and traditions were almost replaced (or perhaps were absorbed) by Han Chinese culture.

Guanziling Hot Spring (Chinese: 關子嶺溫泉; pinyin: Guānzilǐng Wēnquán; Wade–Giles: Kuan1-tzu1-ling3) is a hot spring in Baihe District, Tainan, Taiwan.

The 1941 Chungpu earthquake (Chinese: 1941年中埔地震; pinyin: 1941 nián Zhōngpǔ Dìzhèn) occurred with a magnitude of 7.1 on December 17, and was centred on the town of Chūho Village, Kagi District, Tainan Prefecture of Taiwan under Japanese rule. It was the fourth-deadliest earthquake of the 20th century in Taiwan, claiming 358 lives.

National Chiayi University (NCYU; Chinese: 國立嘉義大學; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Kok-li̍p Ka-gī Tāi-ha̍k) is a public university located in Chiayi City and Chiayi County, Taiwan. It was formed in 2000 by merging National Chiayi Institute of Technology and National Chiayi Teachers College. The University has six colleges, which include seven doctoral programs, 42 full-time master's degree programs, twelve part-time master's degree programs, and 38 undergraduate programs now. NCYU is one of the oldest and largest universities in southern Taiwan.
