Hopewell, New York

Hopewell Center (also, Hopewell Centre) is a hamlet in Ontario County, New York, United States. It lies at an elevation of 837 feet (255 m).

Pageant of Steam is an annual steam fair held on Gehan Road near Canandaigua, New York (Town of Hopewell) between Rochester and Syracuse. It started in 1960 and is hosted by the New York Steam Engine Association. The pageant is held the second full weekend of August, starting on Wednesday and continuing through Saturday. Besides steam engines, it features an antique tractor pull and a large flea market. Due to the nearby Empire Farm Days event that was in various Upstate New York locations including nearby Seneca Falls and Pompey, held from Tuesday until Thursday, some of the flea market vendors and many visitors attend the Steam Pageant on Friday and Saturday. As of 2023 Empire Farm Days is a week before the Steam Pageant. Until 1971, when 28 acres (110,000 m2) were purchased on Gehan Road off State Route 5 and US 20 3 miles (4.8 km) East of the City of Canandaigua, the event was held at various places, including the old site of Roseland Waterpark on Canandaigua Lake.

Seneca Falls Village Historic District is a national historic district located at Seneca Falls in Seneca County, New York. The district contains 174 principal contributing buildings including 14 contributing outbuildings, 8 contributing structures, 2 contributing objects, and 40 principal contributing buildings. The majority of the buildings are residential or commercial and located north of the New York State Barge Canal. The district encompasses a collection of brick and frame buildings exhibiting a range of mid- to late-19th century and early 20th-century architectural styles. A notable industrial site is the former Seneca Knitting Mills complex.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) is a public community college in Canandaigua, New York. It is affiliated with the State University of New York and sponsored by Ontario County. The main campus is just east of the City of Canandaigua, with additional campus centers in Victor, Geneva, and Newark to serve the needs of Ontario County, Wayne County, Yates County and Seneca County in the Finger Lakes region of New York.

Land of Legends Raceway is a 1/2 mile dirt oval in Canandaigua, New York. As of 2020, the track hosts Modifieds, 305 Sprint Cars, Sportsman, and Street Stock. The track is located on and a part of the Ontario County Fairgrounds. The track was the site where on August 9, 2014, NASCAR driver Tony Stewart collided with Kevin Ward, Jr., who was standing on track. Ward died from injuries sustained from the collision. The incident was investigated, with officials discovering Ward had competed while intoxicated by cannabinoids (marijuana). It led to World Racing Group, which sanctions selected races at the circuit, imposing drug testing.

The Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC), originally the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center (FLPAC), is an outdoor concert venue in the Town of Hopewell, New York, just east of the City of Canandaigua, on the grounds of Finger Lakes Community College. The amphitheater opened in 1983, with a mix of seating under the open air roof and on the hillside lawn looking down into the facility. It is the summer home of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and is managed by ASM Global (the same firm that formerly managed the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York).Between the 2005 and 2006 seasons the amphitheater was rebuilt at a cost of about $13 million, to add 54 elevated luxury booths (seating capacity of 4 per booth), expand the general seating under the amphitheater roof from 2,600 to 5,000, and install new state of the art house lighting and sound systems. The center is named after Constellation Brands, a total beverage alcohol company, and Marvin Sands, founder of the Canandaigua Brands winery. Marvin founded CMAC because he realized the important role that arts and culture play in the quality of the community. In recent years, CMAC has attracted sold-out shows and musical performers such as: Dave Matthews, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Mumford & Sons, Kid Rock, Snoop Dogg, The Allman Brothers, Luke Bryan, Hans Zimmer and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Roseland Waterpark is a (56 acres (230,000 m2)) water park in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. Bristol Mountain owns the waterpark. It is located at 250 Eastern Boulevard in Canandaigua, New York.

Shortsville, officially the Village of Shortsville, is a village in Ontario County, New York, United States. The population was 1,439 at the time of the 2010 U.S. Census. Shortsville encompasses the southwestern part of the Town of Manchester and is located north of the City of Canandaigua.

Oliver Warner Farmstead is a historic farm complex and national historic district located in the towns of Hopewell and Phelps near Clifton Springs in Ontario County, New York. The 203-acre (82 ha) district contains three contributing buildings. The buildings are a cobblestone farmhouse built about 1840 in the late Federal / early Greek Revival style, a 19th-century barn, and 19th century wagon house / machine shed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Roseland Park was an amusement park located at 169 Lake Shore Drive in Canandaigua, New York, along the north shore of Canandaigua Lake. Roseland started operation in 1925 under its founder and original owner, William Muar. It continued to operate for 60 years until its closure on September 2, 1985.

Knights of the Maccabees Hall, also known as Cheshire Meeting Hall, is a historic meeting hall located at Cheshire, Ontario County, New York. It was built in 1898, and is a 1/1/2-story, rectangular, frame building with a front-gable roof and clad in clapboard siding. It measures 36.6 feet wide and 65 feet long and rests on a stone and concrete foundation with basement. In addition to the Knights of the Maccabees, the building also hosted a local chapter of the Grand Army of the Republic and the Cheshire Grange, who purchased the building in 1920. The building has hosted numerous community events.: 3, 7 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Canandaigua Veterans Hospital Historic District is a historic hospital and national historic district located at Canandaigua in Ontario County, New York. The district includes 29 contributing buildings, 2 contributing sites, and 4 contributing structures. They were built or utilized during the period 1931 to 1950. The Veterans Administration opened the facility in 1933, as a veteran's neuropsychiatric hospital. The original hospital buildings built in 1932, include the main building, kitchen / dining hall, acute building, continued treatment building, recreation building, laundry, warehouse, boiler plant, attendant's quarters, sewage pump house, garage, and gatehouse. The buildings are constructed of brick and feature crenellation, gabled parapets, half-timbering, steeply gabled roofs, and Tudor arches reflective of the Tudor Revival and Jacobethan Revival styles.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.
