Foster, Washington was a former community in King County in the U.S. state of Washington. Today, after being annexed in 1989, Foster's former area is a part of the city of Tukwila. A post office called Foster was established in 1903, and remained in operation until 1907. The community was named after Joseph Foster, an early settler.Besides the post office, at one time it had a school. In the 19th century, there was a Foster Ferry Landing on the Duwamish River near where today South 56th Street crosses the river and the Green River Trail. The name lingers on in the Foster Golf Links immediately upstream of that point and in Joseph Foster Memorial Park about 0.25 miles (0.40 km) to the south-southwest. There was a Foster Station on the Puget Sound Electric Railway (the "Interurban") at roughly the location of today's Tukwila Park and Ride.

Andrews Space was founded in 1999 by Jason Andrews and Marian Joh to be a catalyst in the commercialization, exploration and development of space. Originally named Andrews Space & Technology, the company shortened its name in 2003 to Andrews Space. Over its life the company developed many unique technologies and space transportation architectures for the US Government (NASA, DARPA, others) and commercial customers. The company is now Spaceflight Systems, a subsidiary of Spaceflight Industries, Inc.

Tukwila ( tuk-WIL-ə) is a suburban city in King County, Washington, United States, located immediately to the south of Seattle. The population was 21,798 at the 2020 census.Tukwila is a community of communities, with residents of many diverse origins living in the city. A large commercial center draws workers and consumers to the city daily; industry thrives with the confluence of rivers, freeways, railroads, and Seattle–Tacoma International Airport.

Foster High School is a public high school located in Tukwila, Washington. It serves students from 9th grade to 12th grade. It is part of the Tukwila School District, one of the most diverse school districts in the nation. This is a small school district with about 3000 students, and is the only high school in the district.

Kubota Garden is a 20-acre (81,000 m²) Japanese garden in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. A public park since 1987, it was started in 1927 by Fujitaro Kubota, a Japanese emigrant. Today, it is maintained as a public park by the Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Kubota Garden Foundation.

Cristo Rey Jesuit Seattle High School (CRJS) is a private, Jesuit high school located in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States. It is part of the Cristo Rey Network, a network of work-study programs that aims to make Jesuit education accessible to low-income families. The school welcomed its inaugural class in August 2024. On the second day of school, students gathered for a "draft day" event at Seattle University in which each student learned their work-study placement.

North Wind's Weir or North Wind's Fish Weir south of Seattle on the Duwamish River in Tukwila, Washington is a site that figures prominently in the oral traditions of the Salish people of the Puget Sound region. The legends describe battles between North Wind and South Wind for control of the region.

Rainier Beach is a set of neighborhoods in Seattle, Washington that are mostly residential. Also called Atlantic City, Rainier Beach can include Dunlap, Pritchard Island, and Rainier View neighborhoods.The neighborhood is located in the far southeastern corner of the city along Lake Washington. Its primary arterials are Rainier and Renton Avenues South (northwest- and southeast-bound). Neighborhood boundaries are informal and sometimes overlapping in Seattle; formal designations have not existed since 1910. Rainier Beach blends with the Rainier Valley neighborhood of Dunlap (also called Othello) on the north. On the east is Lake Washington, and the South Beacon Hill neighborhood lies to the west. South of Rainier Beach is Rainier View, bounded by South Bangor Street on the north and the city boundary on its south, east, and west. The Lakeridge and Skyway neighborhoods of unincorporated King County lie to the southeast and southwest, respectively, of Rainier View. The city of Tukwila abuts Rainier View on the west.

The Green River Trail is a 19.6-mile (31.5 km) pedestrian and bicycle trail in King County, Washington, USA. It runs along the banks of the Duwamish and Green Rivers, crossing the river several times on bridges. The trail goes through a variety of landscapes, ranging from industrial to rural.The north end of the trail is near the turning basin of the Duwamish Waterway, near the south Seattle city limits. Heading upriver, the trail goes by Cecil Moses Park. It intersects the northern end of the Interurban Trail near Fort Dent Park in Tukwila, enters Kent near Briscoe Park (sometimes written as Brisco Park), and passes alongside the Green River Natural Resources Area and through the Riverbend Golf Complex, then meets the Interurban Trail again at Kent's Foster Park. Plans would extend the trail south through Auburn, Washington to Flaming Geyser State Park at the Green River Gorge.

Rainier Beach station is a light rail station in Seattle, Washington. It is between the Tukwila International Boulevard and Othello stations on Line 1. The line runs from Seattle–Tacoma International Airport to Downtown Seattle and the University of Washington as part of the Link light rail system. The station consists of an at-grade island platform south of South Henderson Street in the median of Martin Luther King Jr. Way in the Rainier Beach neighborhood, part of Seattle's Rainier Valley. The Rainier Beach area was proposed for light rail service in 1995 and included in the final plan for Central Link (now Line 1) approved in 1999. Construction on Rainier Beach station began in 2006, and regular train service began on July 18, 2009. Trains serve the station twenty hours a day on most days; the headway between trains is six minutes during peak periods, with less frequent service at other times. Rainier Beach station is also served by three King County Metro bus routes that connect it to Beacon Hill, Downtown Seattle, Georgetown, Mount Baker and Renton. The station also has six art installations that were funded by a systemwide art program.

The Tukwila School, later known as Tukwila Town Hall and Tukwila Library, is a public building in Tukwila, Washington. Built in 1920, the former school was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
