The D. A. "Andy" Anderson Arboretum (17 acres), originally named the Brazos County Arboretum, is an arboretum located at 1900 Anderson Street, College Station, Texas. It is open daily without charge. The arboretum was created in 1976 by the city as part of the USA Bicentennial celebration, and renamed in 1986 to honor former Mayor Andy Anderson. It borders on Bee Creek, and contains a shelter and an interpretive trail system that describes native Texas plants.

College Station is a city in Brazos County, Texas, United States, situated in East-Central Texas in the heart of the Brazos Valley, towards the eastern edge of the region known as the Texas Triangle. It is 83 miles (130 kilometers) northwest of Houston and 87 miles (140 km) east-northeast of Austin. As of the 2020 census, College Station had a population of 120,511. College Station and Bryan make up the Bryan-College Station metropolitan area, the 15th-largest metropolitan area in Texas with 268,248 people as of 2020.College Station is home to the main campus of Texas A&M University, the flagship institution of the Texas A&M University System. The city owes its name and existence to the university's location along a railroad. Texas A&M's triple designation as a land-grant university, National Sea Grant College Program, and National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program reflects the broad scope of the research endeavors it brings to the city, with ongoing projects funded by agencies such as NASA, the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the Office of Naval Research.

The Aggie Bonfire was a long-standing annual tradition at Texas A&M University as part of the college rivalry with the University of Texas at Austin. For 90 years, Texas A&M students—known as Aggies—built a bonfire on campus each autumn, known to the Aggie community simply as "Bonfire". The event symbolized Aggie students' "burning desire to beat the hell outta t.u.", a derogatory nickname for the University of Texas.The bonfire was traditionally lit around Thanksgiving in conjunction with festivities surrounding the annual football game. Early bonfires were little more than piles of trash, but the event gradually became more organized and eventually grew to an immense size, setting the world record in 1969. In 1999, the Bonfire collapsed during construction, killing 12 students, one former student and injuring 27 others. The accident led Texas A&M to declare a hiatus on an official Bonfire. However, since 2002, a student-sponsored coalition has constructed an annual unsanctioned, off-campus "Student Bonfire" in the spirit of its predecessor.

At approximately 2:42 a.m. on November 18, 1999, the annual Aggie Bonfire at Texas A&M University collapsed during its construction, killing 12 people and injuring 27.

The Plaza Hotel (formerly University Tower) was a hotel building in College Station, Texas. The building contained 300 rooms and was 17 stories high. It was located at 410 South Texas Avenue, College Station, Texas 77840.Operated as a Ramada Inn, the initial two-story hotel was opened by Joe Ferreri in 1960 at the suggestion of Texas A&M University's president at the time, James Earl Rudder. High occupancy rates lead Ramada officials to request an expansion, which came in the form of the 17-story tower built in 1980. Ferreri subsequently lost the hotel to bankruptcy in 1987. In the 1990s the property was a private dormitory, The University Towers. The building was acquired and turned into The Plaza Hotel in 2004. The building contained a swimming pool in the atrium (in which a 12-year-old boy drowned on July 23, 2007.), a lounge which overlooked the atrium and pool, a ballroom, a restaurant (Maxwell's, then Remington's), and a penthouse containing a fully equipped kitchen and bar area, dining room, exterior patio, three bedrooms and a master suite with bath and Jacuzzi. The property is owned by Rossco Holdings, Inc. who filed a voluntary petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas on August 2, 2010. Problems for the hotel began as early as 2008, when Brazos County health inspectors shut down the hotel's kitchen and when guests made complaints about mysterious activities. During the final months of the hotel being open, guests complained of a lack of hot water and air conditioning as well as purported hauntings (including that of Civil War General Jack T. Anderson).

The Texas A&M University College of Geosciences was an academic college of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. The college had six academic departments and programs, including Atmospheric Sciences, Geography, Geology & Geophysics, Oceanography, Environmental Programs in Geosciences, and the Water Management & Hydrological Science (WMHS) Program. In addition, the College hosted three Research Centers and Institutes: Geochemical & Environmental Research Group (GERG), Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP), and Texas Sea Grant College Program.In 2022, the College of Geosciences merged with the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Science, along with a few other programs, to form the College of Arts & Sciences.

Texas A&M University School of Architecture is the architecture school of Texas A&M University. With over 2,000 students, the school is one of the largest architectural schools in the nation. Established in 1905, Texas A&M's architecture program is the oldest in Texas. The program became a formal college at Texas A&M in 1969. In 2022, the university changed the designation to school.

Brazos Valley ( BRAZ-əs) is a region of the U.S. state of Texas comprising the following 7 counties in Central Texas: Brazos, Burleson, and Robertson (which collectively comprise the Bryan–College Station metropolitan area), and the neighboring counties of Grimes, Leon, Madison, and Washington.The area is centered on Brazos County, the cities of College Station and Bryan, and Texas A&M University. The Brazos River lies at the center of the region; however, not all areas of the region are a part of the Brazos drainage basin. The Brazos Valley Council of Governments represents the collective interests of the local governments in the region.The Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History maintains collections in the fields of archaeology, botany, conchology, cultural history, geology, mammalogy, ornithology, and paleontology in the region.

The College of Engineering, formerly the Dwight Look College of Engineering, is the engineering school of Texas A&M University in College Station and is home to over 22,000 students in 15 departments. According to a 2009 report by the American Society for Engineering Education, the college is 2nd in the nation in undergraduate enrollment, and 6th in graduate enrollment. The same report ranks the College 8th in engineering degrees granted, 8th for the number of Hispanics and 10th for the number of women granted degrees. The college is 11th nationally for the number of doctoral degrees granted and 12th for master's degrees granted. The college is recognized among the top public engineering colleges for its undergraduate and graduate programs. Prior to 2016, the college was known as the Dwight Look College of Engineering. The college was named after the civil engineering graduate, Harold Dwight Look, an army veteran of World War II who later founded a construction company on the U.S. Territory of Guam, where he lived for 40 years until his death on September 5, 2002, at the age of 80.In 1992, Look donated 1,146 acres in Guam valued at $52 million to the university. It was the largest single gift ever received by the university, which later named the engineering college after Look. It was reported that Texas A&M was looking to sell the property in 2009.

College Station Independent School District is a public school district based in College Station, Texas (USA). Its boundary includes almost all of College Station. In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.

The Sam Houston Sanders Corps of Cadets Center is a museum on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, dedicated to the school's Corps of Cadets. Since its opening in 1992, the Center has become home to thousands of Aggie artifacts, the Metzger-Sanders gun collection, over 60 exhibits, and over 600 photographs.

Texas A&M University College of Liberal Arts was the academic liberal arts college of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. The college offered courses in social and behavioral sciences, humanities, and the performing arts. The college became defunct in 2022, two years before what would have been it’s 100th year in existence. It was absorbed into the College of Arts and Sciences.
