The New Hanover Township School District is a consolidated public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from non-military portions of New Hanover Township (including its Cookstown section) and Wrightstown, two communities in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2019–20 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 180 students and 21.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 8.3:1. In the 2016-17 school year, the district had the 40th-smallest enrollment of any school district in the state.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "B", the second lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.For ninth through twelfth grades, students from both New Hanover Township and Wrightstown attend Bordentown Regional High School as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Bordentown Regional School District, a regional K-12 school district that serves students from Bordentown City, Bordentown Township and Fieldsboro Borough. As of the 2019–20 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 791 students and 57.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.9:1.

Old Upper Springfield Friends Burying Ground is a cemetery located in Springfield Township and Wrightstown, in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The cemetery and the accompanying meeting house were placed on both the New Jersey (state ID # 875) and the National Register of Historic Places (Reference # 79001479) in 1979.

The Zurbrugg Mansion, which has also been known as The Columns, at 531 Delaware Avenue in Delanco Township, Burlington County, New Jersey, was built in 1910. It was designed by architects Furness, Evans & Co. in Classical Revival style. Vacant for several years after being used as a nursing home, it was acquired by Grapevine Development and subsequently listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 28, 2009, for its significance in architecture. The listing included two contributing buildings, a contributing structure, and a contributing object.

Oakwood, also known as the Newbold–Hutchinson House, was located on Springfield Meeting Road, west of Wrightstown, in Springfield Township of Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The historic Gothic Revival house was built in 1853 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 30, 1978, for its significance in agriculture, architecture, and industry. It was documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) in 1999. The house was destroyed by fire on July 20, 2002. According to the nomination form, the house was built for Michael Earl Newbold in 1853. After his death, the property was purchased by John P. Hutchinson, who was married to Newbold's daughter.

The Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix (FCI Fort Dix) is a low-security United States federal prison for male offenders in New Jersey. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons. A satellite prison camp houses minimum-security male inmates. FCI Fort Dix is located in Burlington County on the ASA Fort Dix entity of Joint base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. It is approximately 40 miles (64 km) from Philadelphia. Fort Dix is the largest single federal prison in the United States in the number of inmates housed there.It is divided up into three compounds: The separate East and West Compounds (both low-level, each constituting a single prison in its own right) and a camp between the two.

McGuire AFB/McGuire, the common name of the McGuire unit of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, is a United States Air Force base in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, approximately 16.1 miles (25.9 km) south-southeast of Trenton. McGuire is under the jurisdiction of the Air Mobility Command. It was consolidated with two adjoining US Army and Navy facilities to become part of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) on 1 October 2009. The McGuire Air Force Base census-designated place (CDP) is located in portions of both New Hanover Township and North Hanover Township. As of the 2020 United States census, the McGuire Air Force Base CDP had a total population of 4,522.

Joint Base McGuire–Dix–Lakehurst (JB MDL) is a United States military facility located 18 miles (29 km) southeast of Trenton, New Jersey. The base is the only tri-service base in the United States Department of Defense and includes units from all six armed forces branches. The facility is an amalgamation of the United States Air Force's McGuire Air Force Base, the United States Army's Fort Dix and the United States Navy's Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, which were merged on 1 October 2009. It was established in accordance with congressional legislation implementing the recommendations of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission. The legislation ordered the consolidation of the three facilities which were adjoining, but separate military installations, into a single joint base, one of 12 formed in the United States as a result of the law. The installation commander is Air Force Colonel Anthony L. Smith.

Juliustown is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Springfield Township, in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, that was established as part of the 2010 United States census. As of the 2010 Census, the CDP's population was 429.

The Barzillai Newbold House, also known as the Bowne House, is located at the corner of Columbus-Georgetown and Gaunt's Bridge roads, east of Columbus, in Mansfield Township of Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. The historic brick house was built in 1740 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 26, 1978, for its significance in agriculture and architecture. It is also noted in the Traditional Patterned Brickwork Buildings in New Jersey Multiple Property Submission (MPS).

Mid-State Correctional Facility is a New Jersey Department of Corrections state prison for juvenile offenders, located in Wrightstown, New Jersey on the grounds of Fort Dix. The facility opened in 1982. In April 2014, the prison was "closed for renovation".Mid-State was scheduled to re-open in January 2017 as a specialized licensed drug treatment and detention center, with a capacity of 696. In April 2017, the facility re-opened. The facility now serves as a "treatment prison" for inmates, who can enroll in treatment programs that are state-certified.
