East Merrimack, New Hampshire

Baboosic Brook is a 12.7-mile-long (20.4 km) stream located in southern New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Souhegan River, which flows to the Merrimack River and ultimately to the Gulf of Maine. Baboosic Brook begins at the outlet of Baboosic Lake in the town of Amherst, New Hampshire. The brook takes a winding course (east- and southward flow predominating) through the towns of Amherst, Bedford, and Merrimack before ending at the Souhegan River near its outlet to the Merrimack River. Tributaries include Joe English Brook, Pulpit Brook, McQuade Brook, and Riddle Brook, all entering from the north.

The Souhegan River is a tributary of the Merrimack River in the northeastern United States. It is 33.8 miles (54.4 km) long, with a drainage area of 171 sq mi (440 km2), and flows north and east through southern New Hampshire to the Merrimack River. The river begins in New Ipswich, New Hampshire, at the junction of the river's South Branch and West Branch. Flowing northeast, it passes through the center of Greenville and descends through a narrow valley to Wilton, where it turns east. The river valley broadens below Wilton, and the river passes through the center of Milford, crosses the southern portion of Amherst, and enters the town of Merrimack. Shortly upstream of the town center, the river passes over Wildcat Falls, then crosses under the Everett Turnpike and U.S. Route 3 to reach the Merrimack River. The river is used for water supplies, a small amount of hydropower, and recreation. There are 28 threatened or endangered species sharing the watershed with 35,000 people. It is part of the New Hampshire Rivers Management Protection Program. It was one of two rivers studied by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services to reach data and recommendations about allowable "instream flow".

Merrimack is a town in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 26,632 as of the 2020 census.There are four villages in the town: Merrimack Village (formerly known as Souhegan Village), Thorntons Ferry, Reeds Ferry, and South Merrimack.

Merrimack High School (MHS) is the public secondary school of the town of Merrimack, New Hampshire. It is located in a central area of town on 38 McElwain Street. About 1,200 students from grades 9 through 12 are enrolled in the school. It is a part of the Merrimack School District. The school is headed by Sharon E. Putney, the current principal, who has two assistant principals, Richard Zampieri and Peter Bergeron. Former principal Kenneth W. Johnson adopted the motto "Believe, go forward, and inspire" for the school.

The Signer's House and Matthew Thornton Cemetery are a pair of historic properties in Merrimack, New Hampshire, United States. It consists of a house, once owned by Matthew Thornton, a signer of the United States Declaration of Independence, and the adjacent cemetery in which he is buried. The house is a two-story Georgian style double house, and is the only surviving house of the period in Merrimack. It was owned by Thornton from 1780 to 1797, when he sold it to his son James. The cemetery, located across the Daniel Webster Highway from the house, is also Merrimack's first cemetery, with the oldest gravestone marked 1742.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It is now occupied by the Common Man restaurant. According to surviving archival documents, the area was formerly known as Lutwyche's Ferry, and the building currently called the Signer's House was in fact built by Matthew Thornton's son Matthew Jr. on the previous location of a farm purchased by Matthew Thornton in 1780 from William Spooner. The previous owner Spooner had obtained the farm and ferry titles somehow from the town, which had seized the property from Col. Edward Goldstone Lutwyche who had obtained ferry rights in 1767. He was a colonel of the Fifth Provincial regiment and a Loyalist. He refused an order to call out his regiment for the battles of Lexington and Concord, and on the night of April 20, 1775, left Merrimack for Boston within the British lines, leaving ownership to his mother Sarah, who remained. Sarah appealed for and was granted restoration of the ferry rights on October 24, 1775, and held them until her death September 7, 1778, aged 77 years. She is buried in Thornton cemetery. On April 14, 1784, records show Thornton needed to petition for reinstatement of ferry rights which again had been confiscated by the town upon the occasion of Sarah's death. He was successful and sold the rights in 1797 to his son Matthew Jr.

Reeds Ferry is the northern portion of the town of Merrimack, New Hampshire, in the United States. Reeds Ferry is centered on the current intersection of Bedford Road and Daniel Webster Highway (U.S. Route 3) and is named after William Reed's ferry landing site on the Merrimack River located at the bottom of what is now called Depot Street. The boundaries of the area are unclear, as the northwestern part of Merrimack near Baboosic Lake is not traditionally considered a portion of Reed's Ferry, because as a village it was defined as located on the Merrimack River. The Baboosic Lake area is separated from the Reeds Ferry village center by the Everett Turnpike, and the village center is divided from the river bank today by the railway. Reeds Ferry Elementary School is located on Lyons Road. Reeds Ferry cemetery is at the junction of Bedford Road and Route 3. The parking lot of the ferry landing site, today in use as a boat ramp for the Merrimack River, is the site of the former Reeds Ferry train station, which was in use from 1842 to 1967.

The Merrimack Premium Outlets is an outlet mall located in Merrimack, New Hampshire, United States. It opened on June 14, 2012, and contains 103 stores and restaurants. The mall includes several upscale outlets, such as Barbour, Coach, Michael Kors, Guess, True Religion, and Lucky Brand Jeans. Larger anchor-type stores in the complex include Polo Ralph Lauren, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, Bloomingdales Outlet, and a Banana Republic factory store. The complex is located off Exit 10 of the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Merrimack, and is not far from U.S. Route 3, the major north/south surface road in town.

WFNQ (106.3 FM; "Frank FM") is a radio station in Nashua, New Hampshire, serving the Manchester area with a classic hits radio format. It is owned by Binnie Media. The station's studios are on Church Street in Concord, and its transmitter is located in Merrimack, just west of the Merrimack Premium Outlets. WFNQ can also be received in the northern portion of the Boston media market. The station has FM co-channel interference with Providence-market WWKX past this area. WFNQ is the flagship station of a three-station network under the Frank FM branding. WLNH-FM (98.3) in Laconia (serving the Lakes Region) and WBYY (98.7) in Somersworth (serving the Seacoast Region) share WFNQ's playlist and branding, but have separate commercials. Additionally, WNNH (99.1) in Henniker previously served as a full simulcast of WFNQ for areas north and west of Manchester; it is now an active rock station.

The Boston Consolidated TRACON (A90) is located in Merrimack, New Hampshire. A90 opened in 2004 after 8 years of development. The A90 function transferred to the new Boston Consolidated TRACON on February 22, 2004. The MHT function transferred over on March 7, 2004. Manchester TRACON used to be located at Manchester Airport below the old ATCT. Boston TRACON used to be located at the Logan International Airport Control Tower before being consolidated. The new facility is 63,000 square feet (5,900 m2). A Terminal Radar Approach Control, or TRACON, is responsible for descending airplanes from the ARTCC and lining them up for landing at their destination airport, as well as climbing departures before handing off to the ARTCC. The primary responsibility of the Boston TRACON is the safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of arrival, departure, and en-route traffic. A90 is responsible for one main airport, Boston Logan International Airport. Additionally, A90 is responsible for dozens of smaller but busy fields, including Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, Hanscom Field, Norwood Memorial Airport, Beverly Municipal Airport, Lawrence Municipal Airport, Portsmouth International Airport at Pease, and Nashua Airport. The Boston TRACON is one of six "Medium TRACONs" currently existing throughout the United States. The others include the Salt Lake TRACON, the Bradley TRACON, the Indianapolis TRACON, the Pensacola TRACON, and the Des Moines TRACON. WFEA (1370 kHz() is a commercial AM radio station in Manchester, New Hampshire, airing a talk radio format. It is owned and operated by Saga Communications of New England LLC, which also owns 95.7 WZID and 96.5 WMLL. WFEA's studios and offices are on North Commercial Street in Manchester. WFEA is powered at 5,000 watts, using a directional antenna with a two-tower array. Its AM transmitter is on Danial Webster Highway (U.S. Route 3) in Merrimack, at its original studio building. One of the towers in the Merrimack array is a diamond-shaped "Blaw-Knox", a smaller version of the famous Blaw Knox tower of WLW in Cincinnati. Programming is also heard on FM translator station W260CF at 99.9 MHz. The FM transmitter is on Mount Uncanoonuc in Goffstown. WFEA is simulcast on the HD2 digital subchannel of WMLL. Until February 1, 2017, it was on the HD3 subchannel of WZID.
