Boughton railway station

The Northampton and Lamport Railway is a standard gauge heritage railway in Northamptonshire, England. It is based at Pitsford and Brampton station, near the villages of Pitsford and Chapel Brampton, roughly 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Northampton.

The two main settlements are Church Brampton and Chapel Brampton (sometimes known as The Bramptons). The population of the parish was 808 at the 2011 census. The parish was formed on 1 April 2009 from "Chapel Brampton" and "Church Brampton".This civil parish is part of the ecclesiastical benefice of 'Brington with Whilton and Norton and Church Brampton with Chapel Brampton and Harlestone and East Haddon and Holdenby'. In 2022, research published by Savills reported that the parish was the most desired place to live in Northamptonshire and one of the most desired in the UK. In 2021, Golf Lane in Church Brampton was named the most expensive street in Northamptonshire.

Boughton is a village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England. It is situated approximately 4 miles (6 km) from Northampton town centre along the A508 road between Northampton and Market Harborough. The parish area straddles both sides of the road, but the main part of the village is to the east. Boughton is on the northern fringe of the Northampton urban area and, together with the neighbouring village of Moulton, is an area for the expansion of the town.

St John the Baptist's Church is an Anglican Church and the parish church of Boughton. It is a Grade II listed building and stands on the east side of Church Street. There is no reference to a church or priest in the entry for Boughton in the Domesday Book.There have been two churches in the parish of Boughton, both dedicated to St John. The remains of a 14th-century building can be seen on a site to the north of the junction of Moulton Lane and Boughton Road, east of the outskirts of the village of Boughton. It was already in ruins by the early 18th century and the tower and spire collapsed about 1785. The present-day parish church stands within the village. Its tower dates from around 1400 but otherwise the building is the product of a series of developments that were carried out during the 19th century. It consists of a nave, chancel and west tower. Detailed descriptions of both churches appear on the Historic England website and in the Victoria County History of Northamptonshire.The parish registers survive from 1549, the historic registers being deposited at Northamptonshire Record Office.Boughton is part of a united Benefice along with Pitsford. Each parish retains its own church building.

Harlestone Heath is a 2.6-hectare (6.4-acre) nature reserve north-west of Northampton in Northamptonshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.The site is two narrow strips on either side of the Northampton loop railway line between Northampton and Rugby, with a tunnel connecting the strips. A stream runs along the north-east boundary. It is acid heathland, which is rare in the county. Birds include green woodpeckers and siskins, and there are butterflies such as brown arguses and speckled woods.There is access by footpaths from Harlestone Road through the Firs conifer plantation.

The A508 is a 50.961 kilometres (31.666 mi), A-class road for north–south journeys in central and south central England, forming the route from Market Harborough in Leicestershire, via Northampton, to Old Stratford in Northamptonshire, just outside Milton Keynes (and the Buckinghamshire border).

Chapel Brampton is a village and former civil parish now in the parish of Church with Chapel Brampton, in the West Northamptonshire district, in the ceremonial county of Northamptonshire, England. Together with nearby Church Brampton, it is known as The Bramptons. At the time of the 2001 census, Chapel Brampton parish's population was 470 people. On 1 April 2009 the parish was abolished and merged with Church Brampton to form "Church with Chapel Brampton".

Kingsthorpe Meadow is a 14.4 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Northampton. It is owned by Northampton Borough Council and managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.This site on the Brampton arm of the River Nene is often flooded in the winter. There are hedges and ponds, together with areas of scrub. Birds include green woodpeckers, kestrels and snipe.There is access from Mill Lane.

Kingsthorpe is a suburb and civil parish of Northampton, England. It is situated to the north of Northampton town centre and is served by the A508 and A5199 roads which join at Kingsthorpe's centre. The 2011 Census recorded the population of the district council ward as 4,477.For centuries, Kingsthorpe was a rural village, with a parish of 1,020 acres (410 ha) and history dating back to the 9th century. In the 19th century, it was made a civil parish. Most of the parish was absorbed into the borough of Northampton in 1900; the remainder of it followed in 1931. Kingsthorpe continued to grow into the 20th century as residential development moved further northwards and either side of the A508 and A5199 roads. Kingsthorpe is now a large residential area of Northampton which is made up of several neighbourhoods that surround its central shopping front. In 2020, Kingsthorpe Parish Council was formed.
