The Madison School, District No. 1 is a historic one-room district schoolhouse, located on the grounds of the Madison Elementary School on New Hampshire Route 113 in Madison, New Hampshire. The school was built in 1835, and continues to exhibit Greek Revival characteristics despite alterations in 1873 and 1951. It was used as a school until 1950, has hosted town meetings, and has served as the local library. It is presently home to the local historical society. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Deer River is a 2.6-mile-long (4.2 km) stream in eastern New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of Silver Lake, part of the Ossipee Lake / Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. The Deer River lies entirely within the town of Madison, New Hampshire. It begins at a wetland where Ham Brook and Salter Brook join, then flows south through woodlands to the village of Silver Lake, where it enters the north end of Silver Lake, the water body.

The Madison Boulder is one of the largest known glacial erratics in North America and among the largest in the world; it is preserved in the 17-acre (6.9 ha) Madison Boulder Natural Area in Madison, New Hampshire. The boulder is a huge granite rock measuring 83 feet (25 m) in length, 23 feet (7.0 m) in height above the ground, and 37 feet (11 m) in width. It weighs upwards of 5,000 short tons (4,500,000 kg). A part of the block is buried, probably to a depth of 10 to 12 feet (3.0 to 3.7 m). It was acquired by the state from the Kennett family in 1946. In 1970, Madison Boulder was designated as a National Natural Landmark by the National Park Service.

Joy Farm, also known as the E. E. Cummings House, is a historic farmstead on Joy Farm Road in the Silver Lake part of Madison, New Hampshire. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1971 in recognition for its place as the longtime summer home of poet E. E. Cummings (1894–1962).Cummings's parents purchased the farm, which is located near Silver Lake, in 1899 from Ephraim Joy. His mother deeded him the farm in 1929, and he spent time there every summer until his death in 1962. He was at the farm in September 1962 when he had a stroke; he died at the hospital in North Conway the next day.The property includes a house and barn, as well as a small, two-story octagonal tower. The main house is a 1-1/2 story building consisting of four bays, of which the rightmost is set back. The house has a side-gable roof, which has been modified to accommodate a deck above the rear half. The front of the main block has five bays on the first level, with paired sash windows flanking a center entry. The entry has sidelight windows, and is sheltered by a porch deck that is accessible from the middle gable of three gable dormers that line the main block's upper level. This deck, like that above the rear of the house, is lined with a railing consisting of posts connected by top rails and lower rails forming an X. The barn stands just north of the house.

Silver Lake is a 969-acre (3.92 km2) water body located in Carroll County in eastern New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Madison. The village of Silver Lake within Madison lies at the north end of the lake. Water from Silver Lake flows via the West Branch, through the Ossipee Pine Barrens to Ossipee Lake and ultimately to the Saco River in Maine. Much of the lake's perimeter is forested, but there are numerous swimming spots. Popular beaches include "the foot" of the lake, "Nichols Beach", and "the head of the lake." It was the summer home of E. E. Cummings whose father had built two houses on the lake's eastern shore and later purchased the nearby Joy Farm where Cummings' spent most of his summers as well as his final days. The lake is classified as a cold- and warmwater fishery, with observed species including rainbow trout, lake trout, lake whitefish, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, and horned pout.

Eidelweiss is a village district in the town of Madison, Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It consists of a residential area in the northeastern part of Madison, surrounding three water bodies: Pea Porridge Pond, Middle Pea Porridge Pond, and Little Pea Porridge Pond. The village district is bordered on the west by New Hampshire Route 113, which leads south to the center of Madison and north into Conway.

Carroll County is a county in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. As of the 2020 census, the population was 50,107, making it the third-least populous county in New Hampshire. Its county seat is Ossipee. The county was created in 1840 and organized at Ossipee from towns removed from Strafford County. It was named in honor of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, who had died in 1832, the last surviving signer of the United States Declaration of Independence.

Chocorua is an unincorporated community within the town of Tamworth in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is located in the general area where Routes 16 and 113 meet, south of Mount Chocorua and Chocorua Lake. Mount Chocorua is commonly known in the area as the "Matterhorn" of the White Mountains due to its triangular summit. Chocorua Lake, along NH 16 at the southern base of the mountain, is a common stopping place for photos of the mountain landscape.
