The Jefferson Park Transit Center is an intermodal passenger transport hub in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It serves as a station for rail and also as a bus terminal. Jefferson Park Transit Center's railroad station is on Metra's Union Pacific Northwest Line, with the station located at 4963 North Milwaukee Avenue. Jefferson Park is 9.1 miles (14.6 km) away from Ogilvie Transportation Center in downtown Chicago, the inbound terminus of the Union Pacific Northwest Line. Under Metra's zone-based fare system, Jefferson Park is in zone B. As of 2018, Jefferson Park is the 97th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 510 weekday boardings.As of April 3, 2023, Metra's Jefferson Park station is served by 60 trains (29 inbound, 31 outbound) on weekdays, by 31 trains (16 inbound, 15 outbound) on Saturdays, and by 19 trains (nine inbound, 10 outbound) on Sundays. It is also an 'L' station on the Blue Line, which stops at a single island platform in the median of the Kennedy Expressway at 4917 North Milwaukee Avenue. Blue Line trains run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with intervals of as little as 2–7 minutes during rush hour, and take 25 minutes to travel to the Loop. From 1970 to 1983, this was the terminal for West-Northwest Line trains once the service was extended from Logan Square.

Jefferson Masonic Temple is a building completed in 1913 in Jefferson Park, it provides a meeting space for Masonic Lodges and appendant bodies in the 5th Northeastern District of the Grand Lodge Of Illinois: Paul Revere Lodge #998, Oriental Lodge #33, Hesperia #411, King Oscar Lodge #855, Kelvyn Park-Willing Lodge #1075 and Lux Lunae Lodge #1181.In 1913, the Wiley M. Providence Lodge formed the Jefferson Masonic Association and built their new temple. King Oscar Lodge now maintains the Jefferson Masonic Temple.

Jacqueline B. Vaughn Occupational High School is a public 4–year special education high school located in the Portage Park neighborhood on the north–west side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Opened in 1968, The school is named for Chicago public schools special education teacher and Chicago Teachers Union president Jacqueline B. Vaughn (1935–1994). The school is a part of the Chicago Public Schools. The school serves students with disabilities in grade levels 9 through 12.

The Mayfair Pumping Station is a historic structure on Northwest side of Chicago, United States. Located at 4850 W. Wilson Avenue, the pumping station has served as the archetype for similar pumping stations worldwide.

Forest Glen is one of two Metra commuter railroad stations in the Forest Glen section of Chicago, Illinois, along the Milwaukee District North Line. It is located at 5301 North Forest Glen Avenue, is 10.2 miles (16.4 km) away from Chicago Union Station, the southern terminus of the line, and serves commuters between Union Station and Fox Lake, Illinois. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Forest Glen is in zone C. As of 2018, Forest Glen is the 126th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 376 weekday boardings.As of December 12, 2022, Forest Glen is served by 40 trains (19 inbound, 21 outbound) on weekdays, by all 20 trains (10 in each direction) on Saturdays, and by all 18 trains (nine in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. The station is little more than an open sheltered platform, and is located south of a Cook County Forest Preserve. On-street parking is available along Forest Glen Avenue and LeClaire Avenue between Elston Avenue and north of Balmoral Avenue. The main parking lot for the station is between Balmoral and Catalpa Avenues.

The Portage Park Bungalow Historic District is a residential historic district in the Portage Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The district includes 225 buildings, 189 of which are brick Chicago bungalows built between 1915 and 1930. As homeownership became broadly accessible to Chicagoans in the early twentieth century, the bungalow emerged as a popular and affordable house design, and tens of thousands of the homes were built throughout Chicago. Portage Park was one of the many outlying neighborhoods of Chicago which grew dramatically as a result of the housing boom; new residents were also attracted to the neighborhood's eponymous park. While the district was developed by many different builders and architects, the use of a single home type with uniform setbacks from the street gives the neighborhood a consistent appearance.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 17, 2014.

Jefferson Township is a former civil township in Cook County, Illinois, United States that existed as a separate municipality from 1850 until 1889 when it was annexed into the city of Chicago. Its borders were Devon Avenue on the north, Harlem Avenue on the west, Western Avenue to the east, and North Avenue to the south. This region comprised most of what is now known as the Chicago's Northwest Side including the entirety of the following community areas: Jefferson Park, North Park, Albany Park, Irving Park, Avondale, Hermosa, Belmont-Cragin, Montclare, Portage Park, as well as parts of Forest Glen, West Ridge, Lincoln Square, North Center, Logan Square, West Town, Humboldt Park, Austin, Dunning, the suburb of Norridge, the suburb of Harwood Heights, and Norwood Park. During its brief history it developed from unpopulated wildlife to a largely rural community with a number of suburban villages. However, due to infrastructure limitations, legislative incentives and the lure of better municipal services it, along with numerous adjoining townships, agreed to be annexed into the city of Chicago, creating the largest city in the United States at that time.

Owens supplies Emmy Awards for the International market, IATAS and selected Regional Chapter Emmy awards throughout the US. R.S. Owens had been the official manufacturer of the Academy Award since 1982 as well as the Academy's Irving Thallberg and Scientific and Engineering awards, but lost the Oscar statuette contract to Polich Tallix in 2016.In addition to its custom awards manufacturing, the company also offers a stock line of awards and recognition products sold through the United States PPAI and APA distribution market called R.S. Portage Park is a 36-acre (15 ha) park in the Portage Park community area of Chicago, Illinois on the National Register of Historic Places. The park stretches from Irving Park Road on the south to Berteau Avenue between Central and Long Avenues. The largest public park on Chicago's Northwest Side, it has many recreational facilities including six tennis courts, two playgrounds, a slab for in-line skating, a bike path, a nature walk, five baseball fields, two combination football/soccer fields and two fieldhouses— one housing a gymnasium and the other a cultural arts building. The park also has an Olympic-size pool featuring a large deck for sunning, misting sprays, as well as an interactive water play area with slide and diving boards in addition to a smaller heated pool. Plans are currently underway for the development of a new, 6,500-square-foot (600 m2) senior center at Portage Park.

Mayfair is a Metra station located on the Milwaukee District North Line on the border between the Albany Park and Portage Park community areas of Chicago, Illinois. The station is officially located at 4357 North Cicero Avenue (Illinois Route 50), however the actual location is the northeast corner of West Pensacola and North Kilpatrick Avenues. It is 9.0 miles (14.5 km) away from Chicago Union Station, the southern terminus of the line, and serves commuters between Union Station and Fox Lake, Illinois. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Mayfair is in zone B. As of 2018, Mayfair is the 147th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 281 weekday boardings.As of December 12, 2022, Mayfair is served by 40 trains (19 inbound, 21 outbound) on weekdays, by all 20 trains (10 in each direction) on Saturdays, and by all 18 trains (nine in each direction) on Sundays and holidays. Transfers are available to the Blue Line at the nearby Montrose Avenue station, as well as CTA's bus system. Although the line does have an at-grade junction with Union Pacific Northwest Line just north of the station platforms, there are no direct connections from here to any of the Union Pacific Northwest Line's stops within Albany Park.

Luther High School North, formerly known as Luther North College Prep, was a private coeducational high school located in the Portage Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It was affiliated with the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod. Its predecessor was Luther Institute, founded in 1909 as a Lutheran High School and located in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago. In 1953 the school moved to a campus in Portage Park, Chicago. Enrollment peaked at about 1,400 in the 1960s and 1970s, but declined thereafter. Due to financial difficulties, the Portage Park campus was sold to New Life Community Church in 2010, with the school sharing occupancy. In February 2017, with an enrollment of only 170 students despite recruiting efforts, the school announced that it would cease operations after the 2016–2017 school year.
