Beansheaf Farm is a suburb of the town of Reading, in the English county of Berkshire. It lies south of the A4 (Bath Road) and is approximately 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south-west of the centre of Reading.

107 JACK fm Berkshire was an Independent Local Radio station in the English town of Reading. The station was based at studios in the Madejski Stadium, home of Reading F.C. and London Irish. The station's transmitter is located on the Tilehurst Water Tower.In August 2017 it was rebranded as The Breeze (Reading). The DAB version of the station was then rebranded as SAM FM shortly afterwards.

Tilehurst Water Tower, is a distinctive water tower in Tilehurst, a suburb of the English town of Reading. People from Reading know they are near home when they are coming eastbound along the M4 and they can see the top of the tower. Although in recent years with the growth of trees this has become more difficult. It is a prominent landmark in the vicinity and, located on the Tilehurst ridge line, can be seen from a considerable distance, especially when approaching Reading from the west along the M4 motorway.The tower was erected by Reading Borough Council in 1932, in order to supplement the existing Bath Road Reservoir and supply water to properties at a higher level than the earlier water tower there. Today the tower belongs to Thames Water, and is still in use for its original purpose. It also houses the transmitter for Greatest Hits Radio Berkshire & North Hampshire, a local radio station. In November 2018 the tower was illuminated in poppy red to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War. The tower remained illuminated, and visible at night from a wide area, until Remembrance Day on 11 November.

Calcot Mill is an historic former watermill on the Holy Brook, a channel of the River Kennet in the English county of Berkshire. The mill is situated in the civil parish of Holybrook and to the south of Calcot, a suburb of Reading. The original mill belonged to Reading Abbey, whose monks are believed to have created the Holy Brook as a water supply to this and other mills owned by them.Between 1876 and 1928 the GWR operated a siding serving the mill which was shunted by a horse.In 1966, the mill, then owned by Calcot Flour Mills, was badly damaged by fire. Since then the building has been converted to apartments.

Holybrook is a civil parish, forming a contiguous part of Reading in West Berkshire and is a mixture of urban, suburban land with watercourses and flood meadows in Berkshire, England. The parish takes its name from the Holy Brook, a watercourse which forms its southern boundary and which is a corollary of the River Kennet. Its main settlements are part of Calcot those commonly known as Beansheaf Farm and Fords Farm, Holybrook and occasionally considered part of Calcot or Southcote which overlaps with this area.

Heart Berkshire (formerly 2-Ten FM) was an Independent Local Radio station, serving Berkshire and North Hampshire from studios in Reading.

Heart Thames Valley was a local radio station owned and operated by Global Radio as part of the Heart network. It broadcast to Berkshire, Oxfordshire, north Hampshire and parts of west Buckinghamshire from studios in Reading, southern England. The station was formed as a result of a merger between Heart Oxfordshire (formerly Fox FM) and Heart Berkshire (formerly 2-Ten FM).

Garston Lock (grid reference SU655707) is a lock on the Kennet and Avon Canal. It is near the M4 motorway and near Reading, England. Garston Lock was built between 1718 and 1723 under the supervision of the engineer John Hore of Newbury, and this stretch of the river is now administered by Canal & River Trust and known as the Kennet Navigation. It has a rise/fall of 7 ft 7ins (2.29m).One of only two remaining working examples of turf sided locks on the canal (the other being Monkey Marsh Lock), Garston Lock has been described as needing "more water to operate than the now more common brick or stone-sided variety" as the sloping sides increase the volume of the lock.The two sets of lock gates work differently: the upper set operates via a mechanical system, while the lower gates are hydraulic. The top part of the lock chamber has sloping banks which are covered by vegetation of various types rather than by turf. An arrangement of steel rails ensures that boats stay in the centre of the lock during the rise/fall of 7 ft 7 in (2.31 m). The lock is a grade II* listed building.Two pillboxes dating from World War II at the northwest and southeast corners of the lock, which were built as anti tank defences, are also listed buildings.

Tilehurst or Tilehurst Without is a civil parish in the district of West Berkshire, in the county of Berkshire, England. It includes part of the Reading suburb of Tilehurst that lies outside the Reading Borough boundary, together with the northern part of the adjoining suburb of Calcot, and a small rural area west of the two suburbs. The parish is bordered by the Borough of Reading, and the West Berkshire civil parishes of Holybrook, Theale, Sulham, and Purley on Thames. It lies entirely within the Reading West parliamentary constituency.In the 2001 census there were 14,683 residents of the parish. Of these, 7,323 were male and 7,360 female, distributed among 5,571 households. Of these, 11 people lived in communal establishments. The ratio of employed to unemployed residents is approximately 10:1. In addition to this are the 24% of residents who are neither employed nor unemployed but "economically inactive". The average working resident works approximately 40 hours per week in managerial or professional employment.The mean age of a parish resident is 37.47; the median is 38.00.

Little Heath School is a voluntary-aided co-educational comprehensive secondary school. The school is located in the Little Heath area of the Reading suburb of Tilehurst, in the English county of Berkshire. Because of its location outside the Reading borough boundary, but in Reading, the school is managed by the West Berkshire Local Education Authority though it serves a catchment area that covers both sides of the borough boundary. The school's pupil capacity is approximately 1,700 students. In February 2018, the school received a 'Good' rating from an Ofsted formal Inspection.The current sixth form center, which was purpose-built in 2015, was opened by Reading West MP Alok Sharma. Part of the campus was rebuilt from 2019-2021, including drama and technology spaces, a gym, and a new canteen. The campus was open for use in April 2021.Little Heath has a house system, installed in 2014. The four houses are named after castles in the United Kingdom: Stirling (Red), Arundel (Green), Conway (Blue), and Warwick (Yellow).Little Heath also has annual sports days where each house competes against the other. The 2017/18-2021/22 winners were Stirling and then Arundel in the 2022/23

Pincent's Kiln is a 0.2-hectare (0.49-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest situated between Theale and Calcot, on the western edge of the built-up area of Reading in the English county of Berkshire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.The site is a former Quarry which reveals important geological features It is the only remaining permanent exposure of the Tertiary Reading Beds in the area from which they were first described. The site provides evidence that a shallow sea spread over this area some 60 million years ago. The site contains a number of fossil flora of higher plants, with a number of species of fossil fruits and seeds.The site is private land with no public access, forming the northern and eastern boundaries of the Pincents Kiln Industrial Park, and the western boundary of the headquarters of the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. It lies within the civil parish of Tilehurst Without, which is in the area of the unitary authority of West Berkshire and the ceremonial county of Berkshire.

Calcot Park is a country house, estate, and golf club in the English county of Berkshire. It is situated between Calcot and Tilehurst, suburbs of the town of Reading, and within the civil parish of Tilehurst. It is north of the Bath Road (now part of the A4).
