The Flöha (German pronunciation: [ˈfløːa]; Czech: Flájský potok) is a river in Saxony, Germany, and the Czech Republic. It flows into the river Zschopau in the town Flöha.

It is situated on the river Zschopau, 12 km (7.46 mi) northeast of Chemnitz, and some 40 km (24.85 mi) north of the border to the Czech Republic. It was the site of the Nazi concentration camp Sachsenburg.

The Saxon Railway Museum (Sächsisches Eisenbahnmuseum or SEM, today "Schauplatz Eisenbahn") is located in Chemnitz, in the state of Saxony, eastern Germany. It is situated on the site of the former locomotive depot (Bahnbetriebswerk or Bw) for goods train locomotives in the district Hilbersdorf. After the locomotive depot was closed in 1992, the society moved into the buildings which were protected as historical monuments. As a result, the museum has two roundhouses with 20-metre (66 ft) turntables. In addition there are coaling and sanding facilities, water cranes, a working jack for inspection pits and a range of other equipment found in an operational depot. The exhibition area describes and portrays the evolution of the railway in Saxony and especially in the area of Chemnitz. In addition to an extensive range of steam, diesel and electric locomotives, the museum also has a large collection of operational, narrow-gauge, Feldbahn engines. Many of the locomotives on show are loaned from private individuals, from the Dresden Transport Museum or the Nuremberg Transport Museum. As a result, the museum's collection includes the following: Ex-Saxon XII H2 steam locomotive, no. 38 205 DRG Class 43 steam locomotive, no. 43 001 Ex-Saxon XIV HT steam locomotive, no. 75 515 DRG Class 86 steam locomotive, no. 86 001 DR Class V 180 diesel locomotive, no. 180 141 DR Class 119 diesel locomotive, no. 219 003 DR Class V 60 diesel locomotive, no. V 60 1001 DRB Class E 94 electric locomotive, no. 254 059 DRG Class E 44 electric locomotive, no. E 44 045.Special vehicles in the museum's fleet include a Tatra T141 tractor with a Culemeyer heavy trailer. There is also a working DRG Class 50 steam locomotive, no. 50 3648, that is regularly used for special trips. At the end of August each year there is a large festival (Heizhausfest) with a parade of historic locomotives. 1929 was a cable running system built in Hilbersdorf. This unique system of the marshalling yard was restored in 2014. Main components are the rope-tensioning system, the signal boxes and the historic machine station (with three rope-tensioning machines built by Siemens-Schuckert).The SEM, together with the Museum of Technology Cable Running System, are also known as "Schauplatz Eisenbahn" (both located in Hilbersdorf). This new technical museum area is the largest one historic railway complex in Germany.

Gablenz is a neighborhood in the southeastern part of the German city of Chemnitz in the state of Saxony.

Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf is the name of a former freight yard and a halt on the Dresden–Werdau railway in the city of Chemnitz in the German state of Saxony. The halt is today served by Regionalbahn services on the Dresden–Zwickau route (RB 30) as well as by local trains of City-Bahn Chemnitz to Hainichen and central Chemnitz (C15). Both lines run hourly, together they offer a service approximately every 30 minutes in each direction. The formerly much more important Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf freight yard has been closed and largely dismantled. It was the largest marshalling yard of the Dresden railway division (Reichsbahndirektion Dresden) after Dresden-Friedrichstadt station. The Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf locomotive depot (Bahnbetriebswerk) has also been disbanded. Today it houses the Saxon Railway Museum. The Saxon Railway Museum and the Museum of Technology Cable Shunting System are also named "Schauplatz Eisenbahn".

Sachsenburg was a Nazi concentration camp in eastern Germany, located in Frankenberg, Saxony, near Chemnitz. Along with Lichtenburg, it was among the first to be built by the Nazis, and operated by the SS from 1933 to 1937. The camp was an abandoned four-story textile mill which was renovated in May 1933 to serve as a "protective custody" facility for dissidents such as Jehovah's Witnesses, who opposed the Nazi regime.Sachsenburg was the first concentration camp in which SS used colored triangles sewn onto clothing, as well as armbands, to identify categories of prisoners. Details about the operation of Sachsenburg, held in 17 files (each containing several hundred SS reports) by the International Tracing Service, only became available to researchers in late 2006.

Stadion an der Gellertstraße is a single-use football stadium in Chemnitz, Germany and the home stadium of Chemnitzer FC. Between 1950 and 1990, the stadium was called "Dr.-Kurt-Fischer-Stadion". The stadium was later nicknamed the "Fischerwiese".

The Augustusburg Cable Railway (German: Drahtseilbahn Augustusburg) is a funicular railway in Saxony, Germany. It connects the station of Erdmannsdorf-Augustusburg, in the village of Erdmannsdorf and on the Annaberg-Buchholz–Flöha railway, with the town of Augustusburg on the hill above.The need for a line to connect Augustusburg with its railway station was identified in the 19th century, with the growth of local tourism, but negotiation for granting a franchise took some years. The franchise was finally granted in 1910, and the line was opened in 1911. The line has been overhauled and restored several times, including 1971–73, 1996 and 2005–2006. New cars were provided in 1996.
