It was built in 1896, and is a two-story, three bay by two-bay, vernacular Queen Anne style frame dwelling. It features a deck-on-hip roof, decorative sawn woodwork, and a wraparound porch.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Other notable resources include the Clodfelter House (c. 1850), Fiddler House (c. 1900), Nissen Wagon Works smokestack, Triangle Body Works (c. 1927), Waughtown Baptist Church (1919), Waughtown Presbyterian Church (1914), Southside Christian Church (c. 1915), and Waughtown Cemetery.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Shell Service Station in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina, is a former filling station constructed in 1930 following a decision in the 1920s by the new local Shell distributor, Quality Oil Company, to bring brand awareness to the market in Winston-Salem. The building is an example of representational or novelty architecture and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 13, 1976. It is located in the Waughtown-Belview Historic District at the corner of Sprague and Peachtree Streets.

It is one of stock car racing's most legendary venues, and is referred to as "NASCAR's longest-running weekly race track". Bowman Gray Stadium is part of the Winston-Salem Sports and Entertainment Complex and is home of the Winston-Salem State University Rams football team. It was also the home of the Wake Forest University football team from 1956 until Groves Stadium (now Truist Field at Wake Forest) opened in 1968. Bowman Gray Stadium was a popular venue for high school football in the 1970s and 1980s. Parkland and R.J. Reynolds High Schools shared Bowman Gray Stadium as their home field for high school football until the two schools built their own facility (Deaton-Thompson Stadium) in 1994.

Notable buildings include the Arista Mills (1950), Farmers Cooperative Exchange (c. 1945), Southern Steel Stampings (c. 1945), E. T. Baity Oil Co. (c. 1940), Central Terrace Methodist Church (1925, 1957), and Pine Chapel Moravian Church (1928).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

WSNC (90.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting jazz, gospel, and talk programming. Licensed to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, it serves the Piedmont Triad area. The station is currently owned by Winston-Salem State University. The founding General Manager of WSNC FM was Dr. Clarence W. Thomas. In November 2017, WSNC replaced a transmitter installed in the 1990s which failed in June, causing the station to operate at a tenth of normal power using rented equipment for several months.

The C.E. Gaines Center is a basketball arena on the campus of Winston-Salem State University. It is named for former WSSU men's basketball coach Clarence "Bighouse" Gaines, who led the men's basketball team for 47 years. The facility has a capacity of 3,200 spectators and opened in 1978.
