Harrison is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hamilton County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 7,902 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Chattanooga metropolitan area. Harrison Bay State Park, the Hamilton County Landfill, Bear Trace Golf Course, a course designed by Jack Nicklaus, and Skull Island, a recreational area owned by TVA, are all located in Harrison.

Bonny Oaks Arboretum is an arboretum located at 6183 Adamson Circle, Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is open daily without charge. The arboretum is a small round park in front of the Dent House, now the Hamilton County Agriculture Center, whose gardens and some buildings date from the mid-19th century. It contains 55 types of trees and shrubs, identified by common and scientific names, including the large willow oak which is over 100 years old.

The Enterprise South Industrial Park, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee consists of 6,000 acres (24 km2). Originally the site of the Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant and operated by the U.S. Department of Defense, a large portion of the property is now home to the Volkswagen Chattanooga Assembly Plant as well as other industries.

Chattanooga Central High School is a public high school in Harrison, Tennessee, operated by the Hamilton County Board of Education. Central High School opened in September 1907 on Dodds Avenue in Chattanooga. It was one of Chattanooga's first public high schools. Its students came from all over the Hamilton County area and the school was highly acclaimed. In 1969, the high school was relocated to Highway 58 in Harrison.The school athletics teams originally went by the name Purple Warriors as the school colors are purple and gold. During an exceptionally good year in the 1930s a local sportswriter began to opine that they often "pounded" their opponents; the name stuck. The "Purple Pounders" is the current name, often illustrated with a hammer and anvil.From the summer of 2008 until April 2018, Finley King was the school's principal. He was the second former student to serve as principal. Phil Iannarone is the current principal.In early September 2019, an unidentified school administrator ordered washroom mirrors painted over because students were spending too much time checking their appearance. The decision was reversed after a Facebook post about it went viral.

The Cherokee Trail Arboretum is an arboretum located in the North Chickamauga Greenway on the Tennessee Valley Authority's Chickamauga Reservation in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was certified as an arboretum in 2000, and contains a small natural area.

The Volkswagen Chattanooga Assembly Plant (or Chattanooga Operations LLC) is an American automobile assembly plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The plant was formally announced in July 2008 and was formally inaugurated in May 2011.Production began in April 2011 with the model year 2012 Passat B7 (initially called the Passat NMS (New Midsize Sedan)), tailored to the US market, with a projected annual production of 150,000 cars. Passat production ended in December, 2021.Production of the Volkswagen Atlas commenced in 2017. Production of the electric Volkswagen ID.4 commenced July 26, 2022.

Tyner (historically, Tynerville or Tyners Station) is a neighborhood in Hamilton County, Tennessee, United States. Formerly a separate community, Tyner is located within Chattanooga's present city limits, and is today considered a neighborhood of Chattanooga.

Tyner High School is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. It was built in 1907 as the first secondary school in Hamilton County east of the Missionary Ridge at the site of the current Tyner Middle Academy. The first class consisted of 25 students. The school was moved to the current location, which has had many additions and changes since 1937. Today Tyner Academy serves around 876 students, in grades 9-12, in three Career Academies and a Freshman Academy.The school colors are maroon and gold and the school mascot is the Ram Tyner Academy is located at 6836 Tyner Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

The Wilkes T. Thrasher Bridge is a 4-lane road bridge located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It opened in 1955 and carries Tennessee State Route 153 over the Chickamauga Dam crossing the Tennessee River.

The Chickamauga Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. The dam is owned and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority, which built the dam in the late 1930s as part of a New Deal era initiative to improve navigation and bring flood control and economic development to the Tennessee Valley. The dam impounds the 36,240-acre (14,670 ha) Chickamauga Lake and feeds into Nickajack Lake. The dam and associated infrastructure were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017. Chickamauga Dam is named for the Chickamaugas, a politically detached branch of the Cherokee whose chief village was located just north of the dam site during the 18th century. The tribe's name has also been applied to several streams in the Chattanooga area, as well as an important American Civil War battle and a sandbar that existed at the dam site prior to its construction.

Chickamauga Lake is a reservoir in the United States along the Tennessee River created when the Chickamauga Dam, as part of the Tennessee Valley Authority, was completed in 1940. The lake stretches from Watts Bar Dam at mile 529.9 (853 km) to Chickamauga Dam at mile 471.0 (758 km) making the lake 58.9 miles (94.8 km) long. It borders Rhea County, Meigs County, and Hamilton County with 810 miles (1,303 km) of shoreline and two bridges crossing it at State Highway 60 and Highway 30. The lake is commonly used for recreational and outdoor activities, especially at the southern end, due to the high population density surrounding it. It was named after the Chickamauga Cherokee who used to live in the area. The Hiwassee River empties into Chickamauga Lake at Hiwassee Island, just north of the Highway 60 bridge at mile 500 (804.5 km). Chickamauga Lake is immediately downstream from Watts Bar Lake and immediately upstream from Nickajack Lake. Full pool for Chickamauga Lake is 682 feet (208 m) above sea level; the current lake level can be checked here. The normal operating zone is between 675 ft (206 m) and 677 ft (206 m) through the end of March, rising steadily to a summer range of 681.5 to 682.5 ft (207.7 to 208.0 m) by the middle of May. Then, full pool is maintained through the end of August, at which time the level drops steadily back down to 676 ft (206 m) by the end of November. Actual lake levels vary due to weather conditions and power needs. The lake is a popular venue for fishing and a variety of gamefish can be caught there including largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and catfish. As a result, the venue hosts popular fishing tournaments.

Tenbridge is a vertical-lift railroad bridge over the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It has a main span of 310 feet (94 m). The original span was a swing span with a center pivot that was originally built in ca. 1879/1880. It was replaced by a vertical lift span in 1917, but the lift towers and machinery were not installed until 1920. It remains a very busy crossing on the Cincinnati, New Orleans and Texas Pacific Railway, a major subsidiary of the Norfolk Southern Railway. The bridge carries two mainline tracks across the river. The bridge is one of only three known nesting locations in Tennessee for peregrine falcons, a Tennessee endangered species.
