Tétange railway station

Kayl (Luxembourgish: Keel [ˈkeːl] or (locally) Käl [ˈkɛːl]) is a commune and town in south-western Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette. As of 2001, the town of Kayl, which lies in the centre of the commune, has a population of 4,237. Other towns within the commune include Tétange. The first surviving written reference to 'Keyle' dates from 1235. Since the thirteenth century the name of the town has not changed significantly, although more than twenty different spellings have been identified.The town is the location of the Montenegro honorary consulate in Luxembourg.

It is operated by Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois, the state-owned railway company. The station is situated on Line 60, which connects Luxembourg City to the Red Lands of the south of the country. Rumelange is the terminus of a branch line that separates from the main line at Noertzange.

The National Mining Museum (French: Musée National des Mines) of Luxembourg is located in the very south of the country, in Rumelange, which is close to the French border. It provides an on-site exhibition of the tools, machinery, and equipment used from the beginning of the 19th century until the iron-ore mines were closed in the 1980s. Many of the exhibits are deep down in the mine, which can be visited during the summer months.

Stade Municipal is a football stadium in Rumelange, in south-western Luxembourg. It is currently the home stadium of US Rumelange. The stadium has a capacity of 2,950.

The ruins of Dudelange Castle (Luxembourgish: Buerg um Gehaansbierg; French: Château de Dudelange) are located on Mont St Jean, a forested hill to the west of Dudelange in the south of Luxembourg. The castle was completed in the early 16th century but was destroyed in 1552.

Mont St. Jean (Luxembourgish: Gehaansbierg, German: Johannisberg) is a hill, castle, and religious site in the commune of Dudelange, in southern Luxembourg. The summit is at 417 metres (1,368 ft). Mont St. Jean has probably been a point of religious interest since pre-Christian times. The annual pilgrimage to St. John's Chapel, on the summit, on St. John's Eve (23 June) was accompanied in the Middle Ages by ecstatic dancing. The ritualistic dance, a surviving example of which is found at Echternach, was supposedly performed to ward off St. Vitus Dance, but is possibly a relic of pagan times. A castle and commandery of the Order of St. John were built at Mont St. Jean in the sixteenth century; the site belonged to the von Isenburg family at this time. In 1937, Stations of the Cross were constructed, which are used on St. John's Eve to this day.

It is operated by Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois, the state-owned railway company. The station is situated on Line 60, which connects Luxembourg City to the Red Lands of the south of the country. After Noertzange, the main line continues towards Niederkorn, whilst a branch line leads towards Rumelange, to the south, via Kayl.

Schifflange (French pronunciation: [ʃiflɑ̃ʒ]; Luxembourgish: Schëffleng, pronounced [ˈʃəfleŋ] , German: Schifflingen, pronounced [ˈʃɪflɪŋən]) is a commune and town in south-western Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette. As of 2019, the town of Schifflange has a population of 11,180.Schifflange was formed on 15 August 1876, when it was detached from the commune of Esch-sur-Alzette. The law forming Schifflange was passed on the 6 July 1876.
